Host was amazing nothing was too much trouble. We enjoyed our stay

Plenty of things to do for the children and adults: hot tub great, beds comfy. Everything you could think of in the kitchen to use

Disappointed but we made the most of our stay

Location good, kids loved the zip wire. It was the children’s games etc that convinced me to book the Barn

Where do I start! I was very disappointed on arriving. Dog poo found on grass (which wasn’t cut)pair of child’s knickers on floor beside Princess bed, empty sweet wrappers under bed. Dishwasher out of use for 2 days. The barn needed a thorough clean, especially the showers. The child’s area was so overgrown with thorns and Ivy that our 2 year old didn’t play much there. Cushions on garden furniture fit for the bin. It is a lovely old property but very tired, unloved and shabby - the saving grace was the zip wire (and bunk beds)which the children loved. The barn is nothing like the online photos. I contacted the owners re my concerns but would have expected an apology, very surprised at early reviews this year who gave it “Exceptional” ?!

Dissapointing.

The barn has a lovely location, tucked away with village pub on your doorstep. There is plenty of room upstairs. Kids loved the bunk beds and children themed sleeping areas. Hot tub and zip wire were great plus outdoor searing area.

Was dissapointed on arrival. The garden is shabby. Broken bikes, mud in sand pit, grass not cut. Everything has seen better days. Nothing like the photos. Was expecting a wendy house and space hoppers. There is nothing like that. Inside, we spent a while cleaning the dirty pots and baking trays, before we could cook. The snug has room for 3 to sit comfy. Otherwise you are all sat around kitchen table.

Very good

Lots of space upstairs, bedding was nicely put together in bundles. Clean and plenty of towels for the hot tub, which has been lovely. Large dining area. Zip wire was great. Good outside space and outside dining area for the whole group. Private and enclosed outside space. Kids loved it. The barn is warm with a lovely village location, yet close to amenities. Nice village pub with open fire only a stones throw away.

Not enough room to all sit and relax in comfort. Lounge is small with sofa bed for seating. So only the dining chairs to sit on, for everyone. Which some have past their best..The garden certainly looks better on the photo's and the equipment and sandpit definitely needs updating. As do the toys, bikes etc. Which some are broken.

Location was a good one in the country near a pub ,

Hot tub ,zip wire both went down well .The perfect place to stay for a family birthday ..something for everyone their ,with exceptional facilities

Fantastic facilities and exceptional service and communication.

Dave the owner couldn't do enough for us and everything we required and more was in the accommodation. We were able to arrive early and prepare the room for a surpise 18th birthday family/friends weekend. There is lots of facilities, games, outdoor activities etc. We all had a fun fantastic time. Thank you.

Great place for a get together.

We had four families travelling to the location. The host met us and showed us round the large property, very helpful. We had a pre-Christmas family get together, 9 adults & 5 children, The barn was spacious, warm with plenty of beds to accomodate us all. Great information supplied by the host prior to our arrival. Fantastic price. Would definitely book again.

Squirrel Barn was exactly what we wanted to unwind and have fun! All the facilities were spot on, we loved the garden with the games, zip line and hot tub. There was plenty of space for 10 of us, the bedrooms and bathrooms were perfect for one night. Such a beautiful setting too, and the host David was extremely helpful and lovely. 10/10, will definitely return one day!

great for a group get together loads to do with a massive amount of games indoors and out, plenty of space so you don’t feel squished in comfy beds, zip line and hot tub are amazing nice and secure, quiet and a decent distance to Alton Towers

I would say it would benefit from another double bed to attract adult groups

Fantastic stay would love to have stayed longer and would definitely return.

The host, the barn and its facilities, the milk, bread eggs and jam from the host in the welcome pack, there is something there for all age groups to do. Host will provide anything if asked. So much to explore in the surrounding areas.

Sofa bed in the snug was not as comfy to sleep on unless more duvets/pillows were put underneath as it was hard and uneven when pulled out.

A lovely stay!

We were very impressed when we arrived at Squirrel Barn, we came as a family of 7 and the house is quite large so we all felt we could have our own space if needed. We felt safe in the area due to the security gate and monitors. There is so much to do for all the family, plenty of toys, games, hot tub, karaoke, pc, etc. Some lovely finishing touches from the host such as milk, butter and some fresh eggs (which were delicious!). The host was very knowledgeable and advised on the best routes to take for our day trips.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, there was nothing we didn't like.

Great for families 😊

Great for families!! We were lucky enough to have enjoyed amazing weather and loved everything at the place! The zip wire was a massive hit for the adults and kids, we all enjoyed the rest of the garden entertainment too...basketball hoop, darts, hot tub. The karaoke was also great. Plenty of toilets and showers for everyone. The rooms and beds were just enough for our party of 6 adults and 6 kids, the bunk beds were more suitable for kids than adults. The hosts are so welcoming and helpful, anything you need they are always happy to help. The Green Man Pub was lovely for drinks and food was nice and freshly made. Location is great, 20 minutes to the Monkey Forest and 30 mins to Alton Towers. Would definitely recommend😊

the location was fantastic we were very close to Alton towers our destination and the owners were fantastic hosts

it could have been cleaner inside but it was acceptable as we did arrive earlier than planned although the hot tub really needs to have chlorine run through as it was slightly smelly causing us not to use it .

Peaceful location, like a home from home

The Location was great, very relaxed and peaceful. Kitchen was great, fully equipped and nice big table. It was nice to be able to light a fire in the garden outside and sit out in the evening. Lots of things to keep our child entertained and well equipped with tech like firesticks, alexa etc. Host greeted us on time, a great base for our trip to alton towers.

A few things outside could do with being replaced or removed. Some of the chairs were ripped/broken. Also the basketball and football were both flat so couldn't use which was a shame. Very large cobwebs in the main bedroom ensuite which would could with a dusting. (From someone with a fear of spiders).
