Staff and hotel were excellent will come again
Nothing it was all good, just the breakfast was a little cool when taken from the hot plates.
7.0 / 10.0
lovely location, good size room, comfortable bed
rooms aren’t very soundproofed - heard the couple next door having sex in the morning. Toiletries looked lovely but as a person with a kiwi allergy, I couldn’t use them as the had kiwi seed infusion. Room wasn’t very cosy - very minimalist decor, quite cold.

Room was upgraded on arrival, which was great. Staff were very welcoming and helpful, particularly Loretta at breakfast. Great choice of food at breakfast, particularly the cereals and fruit and sourdough toast.
Found it difficult to regulate the air conditioning. Needed to be on low at nighttime so the noise did keep us awake. Any higher and there was a draught. Bed was soft and comfortable and sheets cotton, but duvet and mattress topper synthetic, so it got a bit hot at night. Couldn’t turn air conditioning up as it made a draught and was a bit noisier. A bit cool in the dining room if you sit under the air conditioning vent.

Lovely room and view over the bay was great, comfy bed and pillows too
both me and my colleague ordered eggs for breakfast but all were very undercooked almost raw! We ate in the restaurant the previous night and my fish was undercooked also.
I also had left my brand new jacket in the wardrobe and did not realise until late that afternoon so tried for over 2 hours to get through on the reception phone number but it kept ringing without answer, i eventually got through after 20 mins the following morning to which i was told they'd look and get back to me within 30 mins but 3 hours later still nothing so as i was working close by i went in person and told reception about my jacket but nothing was reported found. 100% it was in the wardrobe and that i must have made a mistake! They took my details but know i won't hear anything back and i also had to pay £5.50 parking for the 25 minute privilege of being spoken to like i'm a dumwit! thanks but i wont be joining IHG membership after this experience.

welcoming staff, upgraded to top floor room with stunning views over the bay. Could have spent hours sitting on balcony with a coffee.
We were attending an event in the hotel, to access it, we had to leave the hotel and enter an annex. Lucky it wasn't raining or windy...
If you were disabled and using this annex , the only access to toilets were a trek, down the lift to a ground floor, then back into the main building. Unacceptable in 2024

Public spaces in the hotel were lovely, and comfortable. breakfast was ok, not amazing. Quiet hotel. Room was comfortable. Staff were mostly friendly.
Breakfast was fairly basic, the cooked food was mixed quality (watery eggs, cheap sausages) and the restaurant was cold and felt draughty if sitting by the windows. The room was very basic, and felt a bit worn and neglected. No extra touches in the room, which made it feel like a much more basic hotel. The bathroom was also fine but a bit basic and worn. Little extra touches in a 5 star hotel make all the differences, our room felt like a Travelodge room - comfy but basic! We had an accessible room so there was a bright green light shining from the ceiling all night which kept us awake, and the background air conditioning hummed and had a high pitch squeak all night so it felt like we were sleeping on a ferry! We asked about this but we're told nothing could be done. The staff were mainly friendly but a bit condescending. More information about age limits in the spa/swimming pool would have avoided disappointment (no under 13's in spa and sauna). All in all fine, but not a 5 star experience.

The managers did such a great job. The one in the restaurant was simply amazing on the day of my half marathon, and recognized med the day after, just felt so welcome. The manager in the reception went beyond expectations, lend me a room to work, just a Wonderful staff, from the the receptionist to managers, the spa, and the beds, so comfortable.

Everything from the minute we booked in, the staff were friendly. When we booked in we were asked what is the occasion , and we told her it's our 13th anniversary so we were upgraded to the tiger bay suite .the room was spotless. Breakfast was amazing too.
Nothing.

Friendly staff.
Location.
Massage therapist at spa.
First of all this is definitely not a 5 star hotel... Worn out furniture, dirty curtains and carpet, disgusting! But worst of all was the dirty bathroom with accumulated dirt and cracked tiles, shocking! Never again, I regret choosing this hotel to celebrate my husband's 40th birthday!

Arrived at the hotel to find out we’d been given a free upgrade to a king room with balcony and harbour view. The room and the views were stunning. Plenty of facilities in the room and the bonus of a nice big tv.
We came for a ball and the food was amazing. Breakfast was also great with a good selection though could have had a few extras.
There were 3 pillows each on the bed but they were all very large. I did not have a good nights sleep as the pillow gave me a bad neck and half way through the night I had to take it out and sleep on my arms.
It may be worth a few different size pillows to accommodate more people.
Only stairs to the room were via a back entrance and were not very appealing and also locked at night.

Always a pleasure to stay here. King room with balcony to watch the storms roll by. The room is well equipped with nespresso machine, tea and biscuits. The bed was comfortable and the room quiet.
Restaurant was good although expensive.

lovely spacious rooms with great view over Cardiff Bay. nice evening meal and good breakfast
parking is pricey (especially as i realised later if id parked in adjacent council car park could have parked for free with mothers disabled badge ! Requested milk for room never arrived

Comfy beds, great location being on the bay but also not far from town. Loved the spa/swimming pool area, very relaxing.
Having to pay £48 parking on top of the price of the hotel. Think hotel guests should be exempt from the extortionate parking prices

The building was situated in the perfect spot. Very nice looking building with great views from our room.
The property could do with some work. We had a brown stain on the floor by the bathroom door. The showers was an over the bath shower. Bit awkward if you have any mobility issues. Not disabled but have back pains. Lots of blackness round the shower sealing from poor cleaning. One of our rooms had an already opened bottle of water left in the fridge which when asked wasn’t replaced until asked again few hours later. Bathroom decor could do with a freshen up too. All sounds very picky but it is a five star hotel. The bed was very comfy best I’ve slept on in a long time.

The location was amazing. We stayed on the sixth floor with a balcony overlooking the harbour.
We also used the spa and I had a treatment from Hema which was excellent.
Great choice at breakfast including being offered other cooked options.
Nothing was too much trouble from the staff.
5.0 / 10.0
It's a nice location with a lovely view and only a 5 minute walk to mermaid quay and the staff are all lovely.
Breakfast, parking and wi-fi were included in the price.
Foyer and glass front to the hotel is lovely.
You could sit inside and admire the view.
The continental breakfast options of granola, yoghurt and fruit were lovely, and freshly squeezed orange juice.
Rooms are run down and in need of an update.
Robes were not in our room, they were provided on request but child size and very starchy and hard, they said large so have possibly shrunk over the years of washing either way they were no good, because of this we could not use the spa facilities.
There is no furniture on the balcony, so you can't sit out there, only stand and chairs inside are too heavy to move and also uncomfortable and stained.
Beds were uncomfortable (hard and narrow) and were on casters so moved when you tried to get on them in an accessible room.
The cooked breakfast buffet was bad, no vegetarian, everything covered in pepper, egg options were the powdered scrambled ones or overcooked ones that looked as if they'd been baked?.
They take an extra £50 on top of your room price when you book in, this is supposedly refunded on checkout, I haven't had this refunded yet but it has only been a day.

We only had breakfast. That was excellent. The location is outstanding. It overlooks Cardif Bay. Excellent car parking in hotel and public car parks next to hotel

Everything was at a high standard and the staff couldn’t have been more friendly and helpful. Very good value for money.
The hotel car park is quite small for the amount of people that were staying or just visiting the spa facilities.
