Breakfast was excellent both continental and cooked option. We opted for breakfast in bed and service was 10 out of 10

Bed really comfortable. Room a great size, nice and big. Relatively clean. Drinks expensive but bar area relaxing. Food in the restaurant looked and smelled great - however we did not eat it ourselves. Plenty of parking availability.
Didn't use the facilities (pool/gym etc).
Disability assistance needs: I contacted prior to arrival about having an assistance dog over email, and it was confirmed no pet fees were required. However this was queried again at reception on arrival and the staff member had no idea about assistance dogs, trying to charge the pet fees. I also contacted prior to arrival to request a fridge for the room for her food/medication and was told all rooms have a minibar. There was no fridge in the room, and no facilities to store items requiring refrigeration but I was told at the desk "we used to store people's items but we don't anymore, your room should have a minibar." It did not, and there were no provisions for a fridge being provided for this. We instead had to request ice buckets from the restaurant and replace this a couple times a day in an attempt to keep our items cold. As a pet friendly hotel - I was told my assistance dog was not allowed in certain areas (limited areas to "pets")- which as an assistance dog, is exempt and again had to explain the access laws for disabilities and assistance dogs. Then when trying to input car registrations for the parking the person got both our car details wrong - we watched them input our details and even whilst using phonetics (a for alpha/b for bravo) instead of A/B... it was wrong. We were unable to see on the screen what was input, it was from watching the typing that we saw it was incorrect. All in all a difficult experience on arrival to the hotel. I chose this hotel at a higher cost to other local hotels to the area due to being told that provisions were in place for my assistance dog already, after being confirmed over email and telephone they would be. Really disappointed. There was only one individual on the desk that we dealt with repeatedly - I would advise they have further D&I training.

We really liked this hotel, the leisure area is great, especially the pool, my son already wants to go back, The breakfast was simply PERFECT, everything was very good. I want to especially thank a guy called Lee, very sweet and attentive…. Congratulations to the NOVOTEL hotel.
The days I was staying, one of the elevators was broken, so only one elevator was working, it was a little busy, but the day we left I noticed that they had just fixed it.
Nothing else

The breakfast was really nice ... the pan cake machine was a nice twist however could be improved due to the length of time it took to make only 2 small pancakes ... the Full English breakfast was however very tasty. There was an overall wide selection of choices for breakfast.
In the restaurant what I believe was the chef ! On both night was screaming at what sounded like his staff ...screaming to the point where customers where looking at each other is disbelief.... Although the staff held it together we could tell that they were not to pleased by the outburst..... I also feel that the food and the price just did not match... really felt like I wasted my money at dinner time on food I did not enjoy... safe to say the hotel was great ... breakfast was great but if I was to stay again I will definitely be going out for dinner somewhere else on the evening. The bathroom also had a few silverfishes but aside from that it was a decent bathroom. Parking was also very pricy £18 per night !!!

The bed was comfy, and the telly in the room had a big screen.
The kettle in my room didnt work!
After having to walk down to reception in my dressing gown and asking for another kettle was told there wasnt a spare kettle as all the rooms were full?
After a long wait and a few visits to my room by reception staff got a kettle from somewhere, only to realise that that one didnt work either and it was the double socket in the room that didnt work.
Couldnt sleep with the noise
Could hear every noise people talking in the corridors, opening and closing doors, footsteps from room above, very noisy!

The room was very dated and we stayed in the executive room the lifts wasn’t very clean only 2 sun loungers round the pool area only one dressing gown in bedroom had 2 ask 3 members of staff for another one for the price we paid we could of stayed in better places in that area

Room was clean and comfortable.
Loved pool and spa facilities - although only 2 sun beds and both were broken so nowhere to relax that wasn’t wet.
We booked a room with mini fridge and when we got there it had no fridge. When we asked the reception staff they replied the floor we are on doesn’t have fridges in the rooms, the reception staff just shrugged.
The staff made no attempt to rectify the expectation, offer a free drink or even just apologise.
Also a 2nd different grumpy reception staff as I left, said goodbye and thank you. No response other than eye contact.

The breakfast was really good, not only the quality (which was fantastic), but the service from the staff put it on a different level. The breakfast and the service of the team is what saved the overall hotel experience.
The room was not suitable, we booked for two children, a 4 year old and revelry turned 1 year old and we were given two high sitting foldable beds, just about passable for my 4 year old, but not for my one year old, even though we asked prior to setting off on the journey whether there would be a cot supplied. We never received a reply to the request and thought ahead enough to bring a travel cot with us. In addition to this, the temperature of the room was way too high (my children had to go to sleep wearing only underwear) as the AC was not working and due to the floor level there was no access to open the window. Only being able to contact front desk via a website chat, it took over 45 mins for a reply - I had since gone down to ask - they said to turn the heating system off as this was the only option. The bathroom had what seems like black mold in the shower and there was a really unpleasant sewage smell coming from the sink in the bathroom whenever the water was ran despite running for a period of time when we got into the room.
Location was great and facilities were good, but for the money spent this was not a good experience for me and my young family.

Staff were lovely and helpful. Bed was comfortable and good sound proofing in room. Breakfast was plentiful and good quality. The pool was great.
They were upgrading one of the bedroom corridors, which you were faced with when stepping off the lift, exposed pipes and plasterwork put me off a bit.

Nothing, it was outstanding!

The bed was extremely comfortable, pillows nice. Room a good size.
Went the wrong way to our room only to find Very dirty corridors & in need of a lot of work it was disgusting, more like a hostel than hotel. If we would have had a room there I would have complained and walked out!

Room good size and bed very comfortable. Good facilities especially the pool, sauna and steam room. Breakfast very nice. We also had a lovely evening meal. Great car park.
Hotel little way out of Cardiff centre but plus has easy parking

The swimming pool was quite nice with the jacuzzis and steam rooms. The room had a fridge. Nice biscuits to welcome and nice coffee machine in the room.
It wasn’t bad but I don’t think it was worth the price I paid, the swimming pool didn’t match the lighting as the photos and I don’t really like when the parking is not included in the price you pay for the room.

The staff were lovely and friendly. The room was clean and the kids.loved the pool. Very quiet and clean
The beds were really uncomfortable and we could t sleep. It was very hot and the air-conditioning was very loud. Staff were lovely but not great at the actual service part as I asked a few times for.cups and water and extra coffee and by the time we got.it we were about to leave

We love it we come regularly clean happy comfy

I like that the pool, sauna and gym facilities were open from 7am to 10pm. The gym area was quiet and relaxing.
I enjoyed the breakfast. The staff were great. They always had smiles.
My bathroom sink was smelly and the fumes came out whenever someone used the sink.
The furniture in my room needed some glue. The edge on the MDF furniture was peeling off and there was a gaping hole on top of the dresser.
Both issues were reported but it was not sorted.

Kids love swimming pool

The staff were lovely and friendly. Easy to contact if need be. Car park was on site.. although this was an additional £10. Lovely decor on arrival.
Property was a bit too warm.. especially being on the 4th floor in a family room. No ventilation, only a portable fan and the ability to crack the window ajar. Pull out double bed was small and lumpy. Onkt equipped for 2 people not 4. Main bed was a bit on the hard side.

The executive room was big enough! Loved the balcony too
The AC was not working and it was stuffy. The sofa bed was uncomfortable because one of the wood of the sofa under the mattress was missing.
