excellent overall, nice location, good breakfast.
4.5
This is a great hotel. Location is impeccable to explore central Cardiff, literally just 5 minutes away from the beautiful castle. I can definitely recommend it if you've never been to Cardiff, especially as I found the price was very fair for what you get.
My room was super pleasant in layout, lighting and decoration. Desk was solid for doing work and taking calls (thanks to the good WiFi). The bed was super comfy.
Staff at reception were very kind and welcoming, both at check-in and check-out. They offered me complementary items from the fridge and late checkout as a courtesy, which I loved.
The only bad thing I can think of is that the coffee mugs were dirty (as in, used) on check-in. A bit of an oversight by the cleaning staff, but next day after room cleaning they were perfectly clean!

The hotel is in a great location, right in the centre and close to the castle. Breakfast was really good and liked that you had a menu to choose from and it wasn’t a buffet for the hot food, also you didn’t have to make your own tea and coffee which was nice, the restaurant was lovely and the staff were all very welcoming offering good service.

Servico excelente desde a recepcao. Localização maravilhosa com acesso a restaurantes, bares, atrações, comércio. Tudo perfeito, amenidades de banho, roupão, chinelos, cama gostosa e decoração impecável. Super recomendo.
Nenhum ponto negativo.

Nice room, comfy bed, good bathroom with good features lighting (including night light) etc. Full breakfast excellent quality and arrived soon.
Breakfast not relaxing. Upbeat music too loud for normal conversation. Staff seemed rushed. Limited choice on buffet, particularly not much fruit; only watermelon!

Vorteil: sehr ruhig. Nachteil: keine Aussicht.

I selected this property for its location and the small refrigerator, which was not an easy find in the area. The push-button shower controls were very nice.
Five things: 1) I booked requesting a quiet room. The fifth floor is the top for guest rooms, with the sixth containing the restaurant and bar. I was put in a room designated quiet on the fifth, yet above my bed was a parade of elephants for hours, from 6:30 am breakfast to well past dinner, with the staff cleaning up into the small hours. The relatively large headboard is attached to the wall, allowing all sounds from above to travel very effectively to your ears; 2) Whenever I opened the door to the room, I smelled toxic sewer gas. Odd, considering the weather had been sunny and dry for days; 3) with well over a thousand hotel nights of luck, mine ran out here when I left plugged in above the only desk in the room, my newly purchased UK Apple charger, and cables. My email request for such went unanswered by the hotel for over 24 hours, to which I inquired via Booking to learn it had not been found. Be very careful with your irreplaceable things at this property; 4) the toilet would not flush two sheets of paper alone and required multi-flushes like nothing I have ever encountered with expected toilet operations. Perhaps this toilet unit is a failed attempt at saving water and the environment; 5) no bags of liners for the trash cans, which might also contribute to the stink of the room. One day, my can was empty and left on the desk.

Room was excellent, well decorated, super clean, bed was comfortable. Bathroom was modern and specious.
The breakfast was lovely, homely and staff were excellent.
The rooms could have been a little lighter, I like the décor, but I think my eyes aren't as good as they once were so the option to have brighter lights would have been good.

The location was great! Room was clean and quiet. Bed was comfortable. Liked the design/decor
The sink seemed to be clogged and slow to drain

In a great location, very central and only a 10 minute walk from the Utilita arena where we went for a show. The room was beautiful, exceptionally clean and lovely and quiet.
The customer service from all staff was impeccable, everyone we spoke to was so friendly and helpful.
The toilet in the bathroom didn’t flush very well and the seat was a bit broken.

The location was great and the room was a good size. Lovely bathroom with an excellent shower.
The room was extremely dark which made it difficult to get ready for the evening. I had to access my room from a lift in the arcade, which made me feel a bit isolated and unsafe. Trying to find my way to breakfast was really long-winded and difficult - the signs just stopped so I had to ask someone for directions, and I got stuck coming back as my card wouldn't work. It was actually so difficult that I skipped breakfast the next day even though I'd paid for it.

Quiet rooms. Great rain shower. Lovely fluffy white towels. Very comfortable bed.

Lift not working in main building so used lift outside only on second floor but maze of corridors to go through very confusing and I’ve problems with my knees so hard walking around trying to find room . Wind whistling on air conditioning

Breakfast and staff good
Woken up at 5am by homeless people arguing, shouting and screaming ( room facing main street) although this wasn't the hotel's fault.

Stylish and spacious rooms. Great location and really friendly and helpful staff.
The only downfall was the price point. Potentially too expensive for what it was but only a small minor

Nice room. Great restaurant and a bar up on the top floor. Great location in Cardiff.
Good for a shopping spree. Great breakfast.
Lack of space for working. The bar space which is great is closed during the day and could be made available for work. Must use a public parking lot and requires a short walk to access the hotel. The lifts in the parking lot were not working.

Excellent location for us- straight off the bus and across the road- right in the town centre, it’s a hidden gem
It’s a really small detail- the windows have a film on them so you can’t see out, it’s for privacy I know but I like to see which direction we are facing. It wasn’t an issue though as we were out most of our stay 😁
4.0
Bed and shower bathroom.
Restaurant was excellent breakfast very good.
Poor tea/drinks facility in room.
Only 1 out 4 days a hot chocolate. Only 1 out of 4 days any kind of biscuit. Soya milks yuk.
No tray to put used rubbish from tea shelf.
Reading light off centre from bed position.
No bathroom floor mat one day. A little dusting needed.
Evening meal was nice but £20 for 2 glasses of red wine first night put us off from using in-house restaurant again for evening meals.

Breakfast was ok could have been better. Maya on the front desk is a credit to the hotel - very pleasant and helpful. The location was perfect. The bed was extremely comfortable and the bathroom was very spacious. Overall the hotel was clean and of a very high standard.
We didn’t appreciate the service in the restaurant for breakfast. Some staff were ok but most looked miserable and weren’t overly helpful. We had to wait too long to be served each day and when we asked for more coffee we waited 15 mins then asked again only to be told we would have to take them out as the restaurant was closing. On our last morning (our third day) we were asked if we had been there before by the waitress who had served us each day previously! The restaurant staff need an overhaul as the restaurant is a let down to an otherwise lovely hotel.

Overall the whole stay was excellent. Room was perfect as was the cleanliness. The location was brilliant for looking round Cardiff and hotel staff were very friendly and very helpful. The breakfast was lovely.

Really lovely with unique quirky touches. Outstanding staff - real Welsh’ croeso - welcome!
Room overlooking Queen Street a little noisy but not a problem- I would just ask for a room at the back next visit!
