The Wi-Fi disconnects quite frequently.

Nothing I didn't like,

Rooms clean and roomy with very comfortable beds and nice linen.
Dinner was exceptional!! Breakfast choice one of the best I’ve ever seen in the UK.
Nothing.

Great location right in the center of Tavistock. Very clean, pleasant staff. Good breakfast.
Property is a little tired but is old!
4.2
Central position in Tavistock with nice gardens.
Welcome for dogs
Staff pleasant
Underwhelmed by Full Devon Breakfast
4.2
Great location in the centre of Tavistock, ample on site parking on the day we stayed. Room comfortable with a large spa bath. Staff were cheerful and helpful. Lovely secluded garden with a bridge over a stream at rear.
Would have liked a safe in the room. Poached eggs at breakfast were a little hard. All minor problems and we wouldn’t hesitate to stay again.
4.2
Charged £8 for parking 'because we booked with Booking.com instead of direct.' First twin room had a damaged bed base, so we were moved to another by the main road which was noisy. Asked for 'well done' scrambled eggs for breakfast but they were undercooked and runny.
4.2

Quite noisy room

On the first night in the restaurant the first waitress we had was lovely and extremely helpful, she was a youngish lady. Unfortunately, I did not get her name but she finished at about 8 or 8:30. My partner made a comment about liking mayonnaise with chips so she brought him out some to have with his fish and chips without being asked. She was very helpful and personable and more importantly very professional.
I was disappointed with the level of service from some of the staff. I feel that some of the younger staff were not trained to a professional standard.
1. I ordered a Treacle Tart with Clotted Cream - it was severed with ice cream and I was not advised that there was a change. She placed it and left and did not return to ensure I was happy - I was not,I would not have ordered it had I known there would be a change. I questioned her when she cleared the table and was informed that the kitchen must have changed it. No apology was offered
2. My partner ordered the Full English Breakfast. When he asked about his Black Pudding was he was informed that the kitchen must have run out. No apology was offered.
3. There was a cake of a day on the bar which appeared to be the same cake for 3 days. My partner asked the bar if it was the same cake as the day before and was informed 'I wasn't working yesterday so I don't know'. There was no ' let me check for you'.
4. We were never offered more tea or coffees or toast when partaking of breakfast apart from once by a more senior member of the wait staff - but at that point we were leaving the table! This was disappointing . Again mostly young staff who disappeared from the breakfast room at the drop of a hat.
Very poor service as opposed to the young lady mentioned above

central
There were two many dogs left in rooms on their own for too long so they barked and whined on two occasions 10 o’clock and 12 o’clock. We informed reception who apologised but no action unfortunately this situation would stop us staying again.

Great location in the centre of town. Would definitely return.

The room was standard quality but the hotel reception rooms were delightful. The included breakfast was delicious and we had the feeling that we could probably have ordered anything we liked! We also enjoyed a special cream tea and that was lovely. Possibly the hotel’s greatest selling point though is the staff. So helpful, particularly on the reception desk. One (slightly older) fair haired receptionist with glasses, sorry should have noted her name!, was particularly outstanding and really couldn’t do more to help guests. Thanks to everyone though for a lovely 2 night stay.
Nothing really. The stay met and exceeded our expectations.
4.2
A very comfortable hotel, I could and did spend hours relaxing in the lounge.
Couldn't fault it
4.2
What went well. The carpark. The beautiful decor when you enter from the carpark up to the top of the stairs. The warm welcome by the receptionist. The bed was very comfortable.
What could have been better. I never normally do a review but I hope this is taken as constructive.
The décor needs attention. I see that there has been an attempt to merge modern with traditional however, the carpet throughout, whilst no doubt very expensive doesn't match the new refurb. It will however suit a certain clientele I am sure.
Our bathroom shower screen was really awkward.
The TV was really small.
The ceiling light shook when someone was walking on the floor above
The breakfast order to a very long time and the couple we were with found a long hair in her food.

Second visit here in a few months. If u want peace and quiet. This the place. Is lovely Only 31 bedrooms. We were lucky to get the same room again with a four poster. Which was lovely for a birthday occasion. Food Iis great and mostly locally sourced. No appogiies for shouting my home town. Facilities unbelievable. Wife very attracted to spa/bath. In a 3 star..10 out of 10. We coming back soon
Nothing. Read review. Fantastic experience. Nothing else to add.

Everything couldn’t fault a thing
4.2
Freshly produced cooked breakfast and good selection of juices and 'continental' breakfast. Excellent service and a pleasant dining room to eat in.
Sausages available were not the quality ones from local butcher as advertised - cheap processed; maybe they'd run out.

Very noisy late at night due to a wedding party and also our room overlooked the car park and there was a lot of shouting and car doors slamming.
