Excellent property & location, hosts incredibly helpful & friendly. Highly recommended
A few flies upstairs in bedroom but to be expected on a farm location

Very peaceful location. The welcome from Buster, the owner's dog. Warm and cosy by the log burner watching Sky TV movies or BT Sport. Nice courtyard to relax in overlooking the woods and sound of the river and the hoots of the owls at night. Lots of board games for families with children.
Whilst this was a lovely place to stay, some refinements would make a great difference, in our opinion: Better quality bedding and towels. Coat hangers, and a basic welcome pack for people who may not come prepared with the basics: milk, cooking oil, tea/coffee. Also, a welcome pack folder with info on the property. If you are planning to explore the very close river (which is lovely) bring wellies. The route to it is not clearly marked and can be slippery.

Unfortunately the cottage looked tired , bedding was mix matched and tired, an array of mix matched furniture in the bedroom, the shower had mould in the grout , dusty in places, , the grounds surrounding were lovely but neglected, the kitchen window was cracked.

Location was lovely, ideal to explore Tavistock and Dartmoor. Lovely wood within walking distance. Spacious accommodation with lots of room for a family. we liked the outdoor seated area and being on a working farm. Host was welcoming on our arrival, farm dogs are lovely!
The property is let down by the standard of bedding, new sheets and towels would lift this property to a ten!

Lovely peaceful location but only ten minutes drive from Tavistock. Very comfortable cottage with all the amenities we needed. The host was very friendly. We only stayed for a couple of days for my daughters wedding but would definately return again for a holiday.

Deceptively central, while staying at bear cottage we felt so relaxed and that we had some space, even though we were less then 10 minutes from the nearest town. This was great as we were attending a busy family wedding and the cottage gave us a retreat.
We had to leave at the end of our booking, my husband considered asking if we could move in and become farmers

I loved how isolated and peaceful the cottage was, but was close still to a town and civilisation. The cottage had all of the amenities we needed, and was plenty big enough for all four of us.

lots of space, fully equipped kitchen, flexible check-in times
absolutely terrible beds (past expiration date), dirty and dusty.

Location , outside area linked to property.
Would have preferred glasses for beer and wine, not plastic.

very well equipped, comfortable, spacious
a bit isolated. The nearest pub is an hour’s walk along roads, but only 10 min drive

Location was great, cottage had all what we needed and more. Lovely log burner.
Some of the furnishings were looking a little tired, the bathroom and en-suite although were very clean could do with updating and the tiling or grout replacing in the shower. Some new bedding and towels that were a bit more updated would make my review excellent.

A lovely cottage surrounded by woodland on a working farm with a river running by. Much bigger than I expected well equipped kitchen and a wood burner in the sitting room. The bed was so comfortable and the whole location so relaxing. Very dog friendly my spaniel loved going across the bridge to the woodland on the other bank, very pleasant owners the property was well equipped.
The only thing was a bedside lamp would have been useful. A small point for such a lovely cottage!

we loved everything, the cottage was so spacious for my furbabies and my son to play around, surrounded by nature the water stream flowing by the cottage made my morning coffee so relaxing in the patio, the wood burner was so cozy, fully equipped kitchen was amazing for me to cook, we loved Buster coming to say hello every morning, thank you so so much David & Fiona for a magical stay, we will definitely come back

Perfect location. Spacious cottage.
Bedding, towels, furnishings, crockery, cutlery, cooking utensils all very 'tired'. Nothing matched and all kitchen equipment needed cleaning before use. Much was not in a condition where is could even be used. No oven gloves. Only one tea towel for a whole week............. Cottage has great potential but needs a good clear out and freshen up.

Absolute gem of a find . This was an alternative to booking two hotel rooms . Far better choice , space comfort beautiful surroundings . Would of liked to have stayed a little longer but was only used as a stop over down to Cornwall.

Spacious with well equipped kitchen. Private balcony and quiet location.
The mattress on the double bed was very thin and needed padding with spare bedding. The decor was a little tired.

The kitchen was big and well equipped, the kids loved their room (the host had put my little pony bedding on and my daughter loved it!)
The sofas in the lounge could do with replacing.

The cottage is on a working dairy farm so there were farm buildings around it, but it's set on a very quiet lane where there were beautiful views towards Dartmoor, and it was extremely peaceful. The cottage was very spacious.

Great country walks, truly wonderful cottage, well equipped and spacious. Fantastic detox from city. Central heating will keep you warm on the coldest and wettest evenings😉👌

It was room only, but ALL utensils for making any meals
On our one night visit there was nothing to dislike
