The hotel has a nice view over the Severn estuary and the staff are lovely.
The rooms are very dated and stuffy. The electric shower was either freezing cold or boiling hot, I tried for a good 10 minutes to get it to work as I needed to wash my hair, but ended up having to clean out the hairs from around the bath so I could have a bath. I found a receipt in my room from 5 days previous which indicates it wasn't that well cleaned. I booked a room for one, but did have to share with woodlice that kept trying to get into bed with me. I was woken up at 5:20am as the sunlight was coming through the curtains that didn't cover the window. All in all, I'm very disappointed for my stay, the price does not reflect what you get.

Great location. Good views across the Severn estuary.

Staff are really nice.Excellent bar and food is good.
My room was meant to be an executive room. But the first thing you notice was the bed.Hard as rock. Not comfy at all.Mattress and base are old.Part of it hanging down at the front.Marks on the walls.Damp in the corner of the room above the tv.Table filled with scratches.Very cold at night .Giving someone that blanket is a disgrace. On the table with the coffee there is a stain.Try and get some polishers in for the furniture. Also after you use the shower. It continues to drip.Came back from a party.Decided to have a shower and the water was cold.[It seems the shower and the heating only work in the day not in the night) so had to have a bath instead.Skirting boards need a good clean or repainting.Scuff marks on the wall which do not look professional. When you first enter you see tired furniture and cracked tiles that need replacing. It will need a complete
overhaul if I was to stay here again .

Very goid
The fish cakes were mostly mashed potato

The night porter was great, we lost our key and was sorted very quickly

Sea view
Terrible experience! Poor quality of beds, rooms and breakfast!!!
3.8
The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very nice and there was a large selection to chose from.
The sea view I requested wasn't what I expected as I saw more of the car park and garden than of the sea. The hotel interior is a somewhat outdated but functional.

Good location and value for money

The breakfast buffet was good
A very tired hotel, in need of some some TLC, dead bugs on blinds and kettle was horrible
3.8
Rude bar manager who ignored me and was then told “I had the VAT receipt” when I didn’t and I had to challenge him again for the receipt. He then found it in the bin.

fantastic location, great place to watch the sunset, the staff were very friendly and polite
we had a couple of issues with our room, the curtains didn’t close properly and there was no blind in the bathroom, so my husband had to use a towel to cover the window

our room was filthy, the carpet was covered in awful stains that we flagged upon arrival and were told there was nothing they could do. we had dirty tissues on the floor from previous guests and rubbish behind the dressing table. there was also clothing tags and rubbish in random places around our room. my partners bath towel was covered in awful stains which was yet another trip down to reception to get a new one. I felt the hotel room did not reflect the price of the room for one night, the standard should be a lot better especially regarding cleanliness. it was for my boyfriends special birthday and I chose a room with a sea view and further upgraded our room during the booking so expected the room to be a wow, sadly it wasn’t. we complained at check out and were told they had already received multiple complaints regarding cleanliness prior to ours.

Location is supreme. Rooms were very large and comfortable with superb views.
The dinner, which was the main focus of our short overnight stay, was unambitious pub food, served in the main restaurant. Perfectly edible, but not what I've experienced in that restaurant over many years of previous stays. It needs to feel special, and it was a let down.

Loved the location
The menu is very basic but good quality , and top notch bar food…

Room clean and quiet. Good choice of good meals for dinner and breakfast.
The bottom of the bath was slippery.

Staff went above and beyond to accommodate my late arrival. I really appreciated this.
Breakfast was great with a wide selection and was fresh. Staff were very welcoming.
My room was very cold and I couldn't find a way to get the heating on. There was no thermostat and I couldn't get the radiator to work. Not a complaint, as I didn't ask for it to be looked at due to my late arrival. The bed was lovely and warm so I didn't feel the cold once inside.

Not a lot with exception of friendly staff
very outdated, reminded me of school 30 years ago

Friendly and efficient check in and check out, good room with sea view and excellent bathroom. Really pleasant evening meal and service in the bar. Easy parking.
Some of the common parts look a little dated.

The staff are always great and the location is fantastic. Nice breakfast.
The bed was small and uncomfortable. The rooms are a bit hit or miss.
