Great location and beautiful grounds. Quiet and comfortable.
Excellent staff.
Really good facial on the Spa
The main hall bedrooms are difficult to navigate with quite a lot of small staircases. Signage is almost non existent, so finding a room can be quite challenging!

From the very first sighting of Armathwaite, we just fell in love with it. Every member of staff were just beyond welcoming, helpful and kind to my husband and I. We were celebrating my husband's 60th and they just blew us away with the little extra"s that they did for him! The room was spectacular with a breathtaking and uninterrupted view of the lake and tree covered hills! The evening meal was delicious and so very well presented as was the breakfast delivered to the room in the morning. The outdoor pool was a delight to be in! All in all, we class this as a 1st class, 5 star getaway and we are thankful to the hotel and staff. Anne Marie and Russell.

Excellent hotel, fantastic spa. Room was beautiful- we had a room with a balcony it was lovely to sit out and enjoy the view of the grounds

Loved the whole experience...very new for us.
The only issue was our shower. We seemed to have water all over the floor. Maybe it was the operators.

We both really enjoyed the Drift Away massage treatment at the Spa. Evening dinner in the hotel was also excellent. Outstanding views from the dining room.
The hot tub wasn’t available some of the time, which was a shame.

Very friendly staff and the space to walk around the beautiful grounds.
Two chairs in the room for two people

Every element of our stay was exceptional- breakfast, dinner, room, staff in particular. The location was wonderful, close to the Mountains. The grounds were beautiful. The spa facilities and treatments were amazing.
Nothing at all

We got married here 10 years ago and came back to see if it had changed. We were delighted to see that the hotel had the same standards and level of service that we had experienced 10 years prior. We didn’t want to come home!

Beautiful property looks so festive and welcoming great setting
view from our room was poor, we looked out onto a fire escape and building site

From the moment of arrival we were met with smiling faces, courtesy and a pleasant demeaner. This is a beautiful property, with excellent furnishing. Warm and comfortable, it is a place to relax and unwind. The facilities, spa, pool, gym (not used) are all readily available. The food, from an impressive menu, was delicious, presented by a professional and helpful staff. The Hall is set in glorious grounds with stunning scenery everywhere you look. We could not have asked for more. Thank you to all the staff who made our stay so enjoyable.
In an attempt to be balanced we tried to think of anything which had an adverse impact on our stay, but, genuinely could not!

beautiful property in a fabulous location
just stunning
spa hit very noisy at times

Lovely old hotel . Room was upgraded for my wife’s birthday . Lovely spa and my wife said her treatment was very good
The only thing that let it down was the restaurant . For the price I was expecting fine dining which it certainly isn’t . Very limited menu which basically left my wife with the choice of chicken or a burger ? I can go to my local pub for that .

old charm very interesting building
the spa was great but hadn’t been cleaned in parts for a while which was a bit disappointing

Met all my expectations and more.
Only one minor gripe was that the outside tables could
have been cleared in a more timely manner. A wedding
party had left it a bomb sight.

the location and the food were fantastic as was the room which has some great faculties and a nice bed.
main reason I booked this was to add something a bit different than just a sauna and steam room and so I paid the extra £100 a night, in comparison with competitors to benefit from the “Aroma steam room”. This was broken throughout our entire weekend stay as was the showers. Also the £50 evening meal allocation doesn’t include any drinks so despite spending less than £100 both nights I was presented with a surprising bill on check out! all your competitors who I’ve stayed with have included drinks and for nearly £400 a night I would expect that!

Nice location breakfast good ample parking
Reception disorganised rude no help with bags flies in room and restaurant spa poor cramped bathrooms with odd over bath shower enclosure
