All good except couldn't get cold water out of shower so couldn't use it. Reported it and apparently it has now been fixed.
not being able to use shower and payment taken twice , but this has now been resolved .

Breakfast was very good and plenty of choices.staff very friendly and helpful.
Lack of disabled facilities was disappointing.
But this is obviously difficult because of the age of the building.

The staff were attentive and helpful. The food was good traditional 'pub grub' and generous portions.
The general state of decoration, furniture, plumbing and facilities in the bedroom and public areas was shabby and in urgent need of replacement and refurbishment. There was no seating provided in the bedroom to relax and watch TV and no comfortable lounge area for residents to relax and read if wet weather put off going out to enjoy outdoor activities, such as site seeing, visiting local tourist attractions and gardens open to the public.

All good

great place to stay in the beautiful village
nothing

Characterful old coaching inn in pretty little town. My room was warm and comfortable with daily check on clean towels,
tea/ coffee supplies etc. Good choice for breakfast. Friendly, helpful staff, plenty of parking.
The only "original" feature i didn't like was the bed headboard. The padding was crumbling onto my head over night.
3.8
clean but oldie worldie.
the shower was very poor but the actual property was nice. Sloping floors took a bit of getting used to as it felt like being on a boat! lighting in room quite poor, only 1 in 3 bulbs working in bathroom.

lovely old property well maintained
original features

Cider and beer very good. Bedroom good. Morning staff were very good. Car park good. Location good. Hotel downstairs very lovely.
Breakfast was passable but beans over cooked and bacon re heated and dry. Evening meal was awful and I would not eat here again. Evening staff didnt know what they were doing. Bathroom in a very poor state, needed gutting. Shower pressure very weak.

This is a great 16th century coaching house. Loads of character, and stories of ghosts and witches. Would make a great venue for those who like the 'supernatural'. Quiz night is Thursdays.
Times have been tough for the trade last couple of years. But the rooms are in definite need of a redecorate, lots of wires, thin walls, poor Wi-Fi. Menu was a little overpriced, scaring local diners away.

beautiful old building
rooms probably need a little renovation but acceptable

Interesting old building historic and spooky ghost story connection.
Shower was ridicuously hot as as central heating on a mild day. This was raised casually but treated casually as though this is an old hotel what do you expect response. Pillows could be improved.

Nice staff.
Cold jacket potato. Did change it ,but should never have happened.

The staff were very friendly and helpful and the menu was excellent. Each of the dishes we tried were delicious and superb value for money.

Amazing room! Vaulted roof, beams, uneven floors, mighty brick fireplace... stunning building, full stop.
Unfortunately the hotel did not make the night staff aware that we - the bride & groom, whose wedding night this was to be - would be late arrivals and therefore we were not expected. We were not well received either. Sadly not even an acknowledgement that we were clearly a bride and groom (me in white dress, him in a suit) on our wedding night. We were not really spoken to, given a key and left to our own devices. In the morning we came down and were greeted by the same staff member who, to her credit, did apologise having felt awful about how she'd been towards us and was a totally different person. I felt for her as obviously she wasn't made aware of our booking.

Breakfast was excellent loads of choice and went out of their way to satisfy if wanted something changed.
Smoked salmon was amazing for breakfast with plenty of it
Free parking made it easy for access
The lambs leaf lettuce on a plate as salad hate it and not very exciting when I asked for a side salad
3.8
Friendly and helpful staff on reception
Lack of wifi and phone signsl but its an area thing not the fault of the hotel.

The room was comfy, with a fan which was so needed in the hot weather. The staff were very pleasant and accommodating.
The breakfast was lovely and lots to choose from.

The bathroom was very tired

An hotel one felt comfortable in. Good menu choice at breakfast and dinner.
Somebody could get a paintbrush out and use it in some areas - entrance door, windows in particular.

Good
The small double room and the poor bathroom facilities
As the floor was uneven this caused the effect of
rolling down when in the bed.
3.8
Staff were really lovely, couldn't do enough for you. Excellent customer service, especially Sarah who went above and beyond 👏
No mirror in the room, only the bathroom
3.8
Location was good.
The room was very worn in places & not at all inviting. Large build up of dust/dirt on & around the bathroom radiator. Headboard worn.
Unfortunately no food available the evening we stayed as it was the chefs night off. Would have been good to have been told before booking.
3.8
The bed was quite comfortable, the sheets were clean, and the room was spacious
The whole hotel was dated and run down. Toilets in the restaurant have a wall of mould which you couldn't avoid because the other toilet was out of order.. The rooms were tired, with dirty walls, damaged furniture and poor curtains so light poured on at 5am. The shower took ages to get warm and didn't hold a steady temperature. No floor mat was provided. By the time we were really for breakfast we just wanted to be out so left without eating.
