Stunning views and amazing staff! Hut is super cosy!
All perfect. Great value for money, great dinner options and breakfast!

The gardens of Nyore are a masterpiece of bright color on the slope of green hill in agricultural area.
Ugandan minimalism in bandas: not enough places to put the clothes and bathing tools. Insects were inside the rooms. Very narrow doors and generally spartan furniture of our Pineapple room. Problems with water in the toilet sink.
4.7
Great location. Menu had a lot more variety than other lodges / hotels in Uganda
Path up to our hut not well lit

beauty , food and staff - all
excellent
in family cottage - there can be a family next door and you need to be very careful with noise as even a normal talk can be disturbing for neighbor

Like paradise…

This property is a gem and was such a delightful surprise, nestled in the most beautiful mountain panoramic setting. It was simply paradise and a wonderful place to relax and unwind after a busy travel schedule. in addition, the owner Alleyn was such a welcoming and interesting host. We would have enjoyed spending more time talking with her.
It is off the beaten track but so very worth the effort to reach it.. There was nothing we didn’t like. The staff was wonderful.

The location was stunning. Its in a beautiful spot and cleverly laid out on the hillside with traditional African style.
The staff and the owner were all extremely welcoming and kind. The food was delicious and beautifully presented.
The dirt road from the main highway is a good 2-3 km and quite rough in parts.
The electricity is solar powered but not always adequate so I had one tepid shower and cold water the following morning .
Due to the location the wifi is a bit weak and unreliable.

excellent views, well presented property, very attentive owner who is very caring and makes sure you have everything for a wonderful stay

Somewhere in the middle of banana plants there is a gate. When the gate opens you find a beautiful garden! This was such a nice surprise! The premises were tastefully decorated breathing a pleasant atmosphere. The staf was very kind and accomodating. Even after we had left our room they gave us the opportunity to have a lovely day with Ugandan friends in the garden!
We liked everything; our comfortable room, the surroundings and the homemade food with ingredients from the garden.

the owner and staff were great. it’s a beautiful place and very welcoming. The food was good and well prepared and the rooms quite comfortable.
Honestly we plan to go back. it’s not “next to a park” or a destination place itself but the site is beautifully located on a hill surrounded by mountains. it is close enough to Mburo and Bwindi to get there easily.

A great spot to relax from busy Kampala City Center. I was here with my wife and one of my daughters (the other one missed the trip because of schooling - please don't tell her lol). We loved the beautiful paradise like scenery, the friendly staff and these incredibly comfortable beds and the cleanliness.
Food and service were excellent !!!
Though we used this spot as a stop over on the way from Entebbe to Lake Bunyoni, we will consider to stay there next time for more than just a day. This location seems to be very interesting for hiking as it is not as crowded as Lake Bunyoni has become duirng recent years.
We liked basically everything on this spot, we had a wonderful stay. Maybe there are two things to keep in mind. The way from Mbarara - Kabale main road to this spot is about 1.5km and it was partially a bit rough - we were there in Feb 2022, during rainy season. Still, it was possible to get there with a 2WD car (Harrier). In my opinion, even a normal limousine would have been possible to get there since the road is not very steep. Just be mentally prepared and get in contact with the staff if you feel uncertain about accessibility.
When we wanted to pay by card the network was off. I can confirm that the network was working when we arrived and during the evening before we left. So, usually, network is working (we used MTN and airtel). However, it was not accessible in the minute when we wanted to check out. I helped that we carried enough cash to pay. Just as a general reminder for travelers. We are so used having network 24/7 but still it might be off in the minute we need it, so be prepared.
Again, this is not a problem of this location, that can happen any given time when you go "off-road".

Very nice surroundings and garden, nice staff and owner, very good food. Did a hike to the nearby hills, which we enjoyed a lot.

Wonderful green oasis, gorgeous facilities with attention to detail, super attentive staff!

Lovely people delightfull place to take a rest and destress

The location is perfect although a bit from Mbarara. As we were heading to Ruhungiri it was perfect place to stop. Food was good. Staff very friendly.
Room lighting is not great for working - a bit dark. You have to climb a bit - not a problem for me but might be for physically challenged. Internet only fair which caused minor problem as couldn't use credit card although paying by cash saved 4%

Very friendly. Perfect stop over
It is a little bit difficult to pay via card. The network is weak

The place was a bit hard to find using google maps but I called and was able to get directions to find it. The accommodation itself was great with good quality meal options and great views.
Location in google maps should be updated to reflect actual location or there should be better street signs to help lost travelers 😅

We loved staying at Nyore Hillside Retreat. The hotel is an absolute gem in a beautiful location. The staff are very friendly and attentive. The nature walk was beautiful - great views. Can highly recommend.
A bigger signpost off the main road would be helpful
