Location and staff were brilliant
The stairs to the room very steep

I wondered about the accommodation block, which was a bit faded from the outside, but inside was clean and bright. Our double room was small but very comfortable with everything we needed and the en suite bathroom was very clean and shiny. The menu was very good for a pub and we had pre-theatre dinner and a leisurely breakfast next morning. The meals were lovely. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Breakfast - the avocado option was poor not as described on menu and not tasty. However refund given when we paid the bill .

Room was lovely very clean, tea and coffee facilities one thing I would say the bed was a little hard for me but my husband found it fine

This was out 2nd visit in a year. The pub is in an excellent location for overnight stays with a multi storey car park close by. Staff are very welcoming and the breakfast choices available were good.
We felt that the room we were in (1) was looking rather tired. The tap was loose, a cup was dirty, the paint was marked and the windows were grotty and needed painting and had bush growing through them.

Does the job, small room but has everything you need. Nice bed and bathroom.
A little run down in places, some of the walls had marks in them and chunks out of them, window needs replacing, and somethings such as the light fittings need a real good dust.
4.0
Excellent location. Pleasant hardworking staff. Clean and comfy room. Great pub with nice food menu. Cheap parking very close to centre (leisure centre £12 for 24 hours) and so made no sense to pay higher prices of hotels with parking.
More milk!

Breakfast was great. Good value for money.
Stairs (ladder?!) up to our room. Room very small and hot.

Good location; no road noise; good food; staff were friendly.
There were no ales on when we were there, lagers only.

Fantastic location, very clean room and lovely size
The heating was on full blast at 1am. Room was hot and very uncomfortable.
Check in staff were a little strange and made me feel a little uncomfortable.
No car Park!

Breakfast was really nice view from bedroom window fab.
Only thing I didn't like was the outside stairs we had to climb to get to room, found them slippery, I thought we would be inside the pub.
4.5
Staff was excellent-extremely helpful. The location was a short walk to the theater. The breakfast (separate charge) was DELICIOUS! The room was cozy & comfy-slept soundly.
We should have booked another night!

Location was fantastic and so was the English breakfast, even though there was only 1 staff member working on the Saturday morning he did a brilliant job to keep all of the residents happy, Top Man
I had booked the Pen and Parchment specifically so we could have a meal in the pub on the Friday night. When we arrived at the booked time we were told that they hadn’t had there food delivery so 90% of the items on the menu weren’t available. Very disappointing 😞

This is a lovely hotel just opposite the marina in Stratford. We could see the RSC from our window, which is just a 1-minute walk away. Fabulous location, next to a multi-storey car park.
Staff is extremely kind and helpful, the whole place is super clean and has a nice atmosphere to it.
Very nice night sleep, quiet and comfortable bed, and lovely breakfast too.
We would certainly stay again!

the location, the rooms and the food
very short staffed

it’s very close to the theatre and it has a car park for guests. The bed was very comfortable.
There was very little space around the bed. The bath plug didn’t work and a bit of plastic was stuck in the washbasin plug.
This is an old building with little space, narrow staircase & poor access. The cleanliness was okay but poor in the bar area, with windows frames needing a good clean.

Great location close to town centre and RSC Theatre, nice room, very clean and an excellent Full English breakfast. Very friendly staff.
There was nothing we didn’t like.

Excellent breakfast. Nothing was too much trouble. Loads of choice. Beautifully cooked,

The room was really nicely decorated and so was the bathroom. The shower was powerful and hot, there was a bath, shampoo, etc. Iron and ironing board, hairdryer. The bedding was soft and cosy but the mattress could be more comfortable.
Tea, coffee, biscuits in the room. The cooked breakfast was nice..
Great location, very central and fabulous view of the theatre.
We weren't really greeted as well as we could have been.
Be aware that it's on a busy junction, it didn't bother us as we live on a main road. Also, as its above a pub it's fairly noisy. The pub noise stopped at a decent time but someone in the building was still playing music at 2.30am that kept me awake. In the end I texted the number that was in the room and someone made it stop.

Rooms at first floor in rather tired anex building. Room small and access very poor. No on site car parking used public car park behind hotel.

The location near the RSC was ideal. The rooms were in a separate block from the noise from the pub. The room was comfortable and the staff were very attentive. The breakfast was fine.
The Red tourist sightseeing bus waits outside the room and keeps a noisy engine running. This was a nuisance but was not a problem as it is only there for a few minutes every hour or so and it stops running in the evening. It would have been nice to be able to check in and drop bags in before the 2 pm check in time.

Good location, and food.
No car parking and the room could have been a little cleaner.

Location is excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful. The facilities were good - excellent shower and comfortable bed.
The dust in the room was about 1/2 cm thick! For £140 a night we expect the property to be well cleaned.

great location for all shopping and pubs,
room was over the bar on the front of the pub, so quite noisy

Location was excellent. Parking in the multistorey next door was very convenient.
Staff very helpful.
Everything was good. The portable desk fan was too dusty to use.
