It was on the beach front and only 5 mins walk to the pier. The view from the hotel room was excellent and the room was big for the price. Stayed in 4 hotels that week and this was the cheapest and the best. Defineately will stay there again.
The corridors and landings could do with a make over or update.

Fantastic staff, very friendly and polite. Excellent location . Rooms with a balcony have amazing views. Hotel was very clean.
Lift is a bit outdated and bedroom doors do not automatically lock when closed
3.1
great location on the seafront and a shortish walk into town.
Elevator was a bit rickety, but it is a old type hotel with character

A great hotel near the pier and the town centre. The staff was very friendly, accommodating and flexible. We arrived early in the afternoon and the room was ready for us. The check-in was a breeze. We had a very nice and spacy seaview room in the first floor. There are tea and coffee making facilities in the room. Lots of space, and a clean bathroom. The seafront street is right under the window so there are some sounds from traffic but not to any disturbing extent. On our departure the staff promised to store our luggage for some extra hours. The facilities carry the air of a traditional, seasoned and dignified seaside hotel, a nice ambience. No breakfast service, but there are plenty of restaurants nearby. There is no elevator, but that didn't bother us. All in all, excellent value for the price!

The people who ran the hotel were all very friendly and helpful, I would certainly recommend this hotel for people to stay at

Staff were incredibly helpful. The sea view/location was amazing.
The place is need of a series update!

Seafront location. Bedding looked clean/new.
In need of total renovation. Very low standard. would have been value for money at £20, not £160..
Everything old and run down. Cracked paint, cracked ceilings, cracked woodwork, holes in the wall, carpets ruined and dirty.. was probably lovely about 50 years ago!
Shower was a dribble and freezing cold.
Bathroom door didn't even shut properly - left 5mm gap!
Balcony is along the whole front so doesn't feel secure.
Locks on bedroom door inadequate.
No hairdrier.
No food at all - no breakfast!
Tried to get a drink at the bar - he went behind the bar with a torch rather than turning any lights on - then couldn't actually find anything we wanted, or anything at all really so we just went to bed. Bad end to a lovely evening.

Nothing
Clean room everywhere else not good
3.1
Nothing
- dirty towels with yellow stains
- Grout pieces and glass pieces all over the carpet so ended up cutting my foot
- Stains on the curtain
- Not being told we share balcony’s then having people talking really loudly early hours of the morning and late hours at night
- Broken door handle so door wouldn’t lock properly and people possibly could get in
- People putting a chair in front of our door that was staying next to us so couldn’t get out the room without trying to move the chair
- Bad customer service being asked in a arrogant way if we took our rubbish out of the room considering it isn’t our job and we didn’t pay to clean our rubbish away

Beautiful sea view. Very comfortable bed and very spacious double room with small balcony. Female receptionist (Rehana?) was extremly pleasant, apologised for the slight disarray around the halls as they were refurbishing. The first room we were taken to had a lock/door problem which was due to be seen to within a couple of hours - she changed her mind whilst explaining this and showed us to a different room to save further disruption to our stay.
Saturday male receptionist/porter/duty manager was very helpful with a noise issue on Saturday morning.
On arrival there were 2 gentleman and a baby by the desk, who I assumed were guests but were family connected to the hotel. One of the gentleman very rudely/abruptly told me to 'wait here' (I was with my 3 year old and his tone was unnessesarily unfriendly and she picked up on this - not a great start). We then dealt with the female running FoH, who was lovely. Unfortunately, our en suite bath plug had hair in it, and one of the soap packets had a used tissue in it, which wasn't very pleasant. I think maybe one of the staff had used the room that day - it was otherwise clean. When we had left the room to find a shop - a workman had entered and fixed a fitting in the bathroom without letting me know they were going to be in the room. I made it clear that they needed to tell/ask me this and any further access needed should be cleared with me first. Building works and banging commenced above our room around 9am - I went to reception to request they held off for an hour to allow us to get ready in peace (we have works next door at home as well, so very unfortunate) - initially telling me (male saturday DM) that he couldn't do anything - I mentioned the other issues we'd had and he did eventually sort it out. Beautiful hand made curtains in this particular room but did not keep any light out - room was in full daylight by 5am. No immediate further disruption regarding above issues, although they did commence banging on Sunday - we were cheking out but would have been frustrating if we were not.
There is a lift but very, very old (cage shutter), didn't line up on G floor so was a step the buggy kept getting stuck on and my small stroller struggled to get in and out of it - let alone me too (definitely wouldn't be able to take a wheelchair in it). It scared my toddler - just a warning for others with small children. I didn't spand any time in the foyer or bar to comment.

Everything was OK, but it is necessary to say that I am happy with basic things.

nice location, one minute walk from the beach.
There was a really strong smell of cooking permeating the reception area, I stayed there two days and it never went away.
The hotel felt very old and quite run down.
The room I was given didn't have hot water, when I was pressing the hot water knob, the water simply stopped altogether. They said they had troubles with the boiler and I was changed to another room. The first room wasn't so bad, but the second one was very dark with only one small window facing the (rundown) internal area of the building.
The en-suite bathroom was really small, and its door had no lock. It kept opening up while I was sitting in the toilet.
The staff wasn’t really professional, when I went down to the reception the first night telling them there was no hot water in the room, they started talking in another language between them, right in front of me, even thought all of them spoke English. That was quite disrespectful and rude. I understand if somebody didn’t speak the language, but purposefully changing language so they would exclude me from the conversation felt very unprofessional and dodgy.
The second room had part of the pillow, mattress and duvet wet, no idea why. I asked at least for a change of sheet (they even didn’t change the wet duvet).
The cleanliness in general wasn’t very good.
I am not happy at all with my experience, for what I paid I expected something better, and I don’t think I will be back there again.

I liked the fact that the hotel was on the sea front
I didn’t like the dirty brown water that poured into the shower room above the toilet or the plug socket that wasn’t secured properly, the furniture wasn’t in very good condition
3.1
I tried to book for a group to share rooms 3 or 4 beds , but was told unavailable, 6 of us arrived with 3 double rooms booked , in total between the rooms we had 10 beds !!!! So we had a room not even used , such a waste and waste of money 😒
3.1
Nice, clean, comfortable facilities. Very good washroom and beds.
No air conditioning, therefore became quite hot and stuffy in the room in the morning as it was facing the sun.
3.1
Great location and great room with sea view.
