Suited our needs for a stay in Eastbourne to go to the theatre. Friendly staff, quiet hotel in a quiet area.

Good location. Able to park outside for a small charge. Quiet and clean.

Nice hotel, poor communication. Would recommend if they can sort the latter part out.

Rooms were nice and cosy. Location was great.

The hotel and Booking.com didn't communicate well with each other. We'd cancelled one of the room bookings (as we'd had a friend drop out of the trip) days before the deadline for doing so, so should have received a full refund for that room. The hotel reception said they weren't aware of the cancellation and made me pay for the room anyway.

Such a shame, some care and attention to simple basics would have made a big difference

Location was good.

Room was dirty, nose bogey on upside down picture in bathroom. Dried old liquid of some kind on bedside cabinet, pubic hairs on tiles in shower. Felt and looked dirty in many communal areas. Chaos at breakfast. Staff seemed very stressed and hygiene was very poor. Very unorganised. So many people asking for basic cutlery , no menus, felt very awkward and not a pleasant experience, hardly ate or drunk as had Dirty tea cup, cold and rare sausage bacon and egg . Felt very cheap and no care taken. Staff member had bad B.O

Very comfortable hotel.

The staff were very polite and couldn't be more helpful. The location of the hotel is excellent with a parking voucher if needed. Breakfast was an added bonus.

Lovely staff, hotel will be nice when finished

Nice room and comfortable bed. Staff helpful and friendly. Breakfast provided.

Hotel in the middle of refurbishment - thankfully, they did prewarn us about the scaffolding, so we kept our curtains shut. Hallways and stairs were dingy, and reception was sometimes in darkness and looked unwelcoming because of that - staff were lovely, though. Dated carpets and old paintwork in common areas had splashes of paint on them, and each day, there was a pile of furniture in a different place that could be seen from the reception and breakfast area, just made it look untidy.

Not told is was being refurbished, asked to pay for a pet,even though it says pets allowed, sign said restaurant closed for refurbishment so assumed no breakfast but when we left they were serving breakfast.

Lovely hotel - need fans in summer no aircon

Few minutes walk to sea front which was great. Very tidy hotel and obviously family owned and run. Nice atmosphere

There is no aircon so owners really need to look at putting fans in rooms. It was unbearably hot and although window could open - there was no air coming in so had a bad nights sleep all in all. Breakfast was nice if not small. Staff need training as waiting too long for them to come over and ask if we even wanted tea or coffee. Had to try and wave someone over for everything. Maybe its new owners - so hopefully these things will improve given a bit of time. We would give it another try in the future

staff are fab and it’s perfect location for short stays

the staff were very attentive and polite. you can buy a parking permit for £2 which lasts 24 hours. it is dog friendly which was perfect for us. the breakfast choice was great and my husband had the full English which he said was superb

it was a bit tired in terms of decor and our room was quite small, perfect for one night. it was ridiculously hot and when we turned the radiator down the knob came off! and the window was a safety window and only opened a smidge. the mattress was old and saggy but again ok for one night.

Wilk definitely be back.

everything about the property was warm and welcoming. it was very clean, nicely decorated and cosy. We had the deluxe double and the room was beautiful. lovely touches. I have stayed at many hotels in Eastbourne over the years and this is the best by far.

Friendly staff, nice room, excellent location, really good breakfast and made you feel very welcome.

Probably needs some updating in the communal areas and some re decoration but our room had clearly been updated so perhaps this will occur over time, but everything kept clean, neat and tidy.

Staff/owner very accommodating hotel in nice spot just of sea front and in easy reach of town.

nice enough, not sure we will use again.

The room was very clean and the staff were helpful. Breakfast was fine.

In our bathroom (room 221) the shower extractor fan didn't work and the shower head kept falling down and had to be wedged with a bit of cardboard, otherwise you had to shower with one hand holding the shower head. Maintenance is clearly something that happens following a bad report, rather than in a proactive way when the room is cleaned, which isn't a great customer experience.

Pleasant, homely & comfortable: we would go there again.

Pleasant welcome. Always someone on the desk. The lift was good quality. We were pleasantly surprised at the quality of the hotel. Location good.

Parking was ok but perhaps could have been better. The lift was good but didn't quite go to the top floor i.e., we had a small set of stairs to ascend.

Evey time anyone used water the pipes would bang keeping us awake all night the room had no curtain on the centre window ak everyone could see in the windows Our car was broken in to and items stolen so choose where you park carefully
