The breakfast was lovely. The Beds were comfortable
The rooms were not massivley clean, the bathroom wasnt very clean at all. The rooms were dated paint bashed off the walls just could really do with a refresh!

The room was lovely and very clean, the location was central and very convenient. The food was very nice and the price was affordable
At one point my partner was somewhat aggressively questioned by housekeeping staff as to whether he had been smoking in the room (neither of us smoke) and they felt the need to ask him "are you sure " when he said no. Breakfast staff really struggled on our 2nd morning due to the large number of diners and there was a very long wait for service. It felt as if more staff should have been allocated as the large party had been booked in advance

Absolutely fantastic hotel. Spacious rooms, with everything you need, including really comfortable beds. Bethany went above and beyond to make me feel welcome and I cannot praise her enough. Had one of the best night's sleep on a long time :)
Nothing

It was easy to get to being not far off the mitt. Room was clean and the staff friendly
There were roadworks outside on two nights but nothing the hotel could do about that - a downside to being near a main road . No lift but there were ground floor rooms

The price
The paint flaking off the walls. Freezing cold bathroom. Drafts! Terrible food

The staff were particularly good in the restaurant

In center of town and had a guest car park
Rather basic pub type accommodation without any frills. Could have been cleaner.
I was disappointed that they would not give me a refund for the first night as my flight was cancelled and I let them know that I would not be coming and that they could let my room. Clearly the flight cancellation due to bad weather was not something I could do anything about.

the breakfast was excellent and very good value for money ,the staff are lovely
i did not like the location of my room down a very narrow corridor .It felt very claustrophobic.
i was worried if there was a fire and i wound not be able to get out , however i was near the fire exit
The room was obviously in an old part of the hotel as the floor was very slopy , although this cannot be helped .
The food at lunch time was poor quality and had a horrible sauce over the salad

We stayed overnight after a wedding. Staff were friendly and room was spacious and clean. Breakfast really good value.
A little bit tricky to get all our stuff to family room as there are a lot of stairs but we managed.

Good bedroom - no. 7. Pleasant dining room.
After ordering there was a 45 minute wait for evening meal and breakfast to arrive. Too long!

Good location on the high street with plenty of parking to rear. Was quite even in our room at the front. Comfortable bed and good size room. Really nice and big towels
Staff really friendly and helpful, special shout out to Jurgen.
Room smelt of smoke. Staff tried to help with air fresheners but it lingered. When manager Daryl cam in on Sunday, he apologised personally and gave us free breakfast and discount. It’s not their fault that previous occupant smoked in room, i hope they are made to pay the cleaning supplement and maybe get banned!!

Ideal location and car parking good, lovely rooms & Comfortable beds, clean rooms and Food was good
It was obvious there was a staff shortage !!!
we felt so sorry for the young girl in the dining area, having to apologise for waiting for breakfasts etc. She was so polite and was rushed off her feet.
Also it stated hairdryers in rooms but none in our room.

The Swann is an old hotel with bags of character bang in the middle of town. The staff are friendly and very helpful . Our room, number 10, was at the back of the hotel and was well presented and clean. Nice comfortable bed. We would stay there again
No room service. Not ordinarily a problem but as we were baby sitting a troubled baby we didn't think it appropriate to use the restaurant. However there's a Pizza Express across the road so we phoned in an order and went and collected it.

Check in was ridiculous, we really thought we was on a hidden camera! No one available to check us in to start with, then a ‘manager’ arrived, he couldn’t even use the check in system correctly! We were given a key for room 7, and told to go up the stairs, we took our suitcase up the stairs, only to find there was no room 7! Back down stairs, and he changed the key for room 30, carry the suitcase up the stairs again, this time, we found the room, went in, only to find this room had no electricity, and no towels! Back downstairs, the ‘manager’ was now in a complete panic, and passed us over to someone else. She apologised, and said she’d put us in room 43, then gave us key 42! When I questioned this, she said that she’d been busy! So busy she couldn’t tell 42 from 43 on the key fob! Eventually, we made it into our room, only to find ONE towel between us. We asked for a couple of extra towels, and were told that they hadn’t been delivered as yet, ( 3.30 pm)! There were a few other niggles with our stay, but in general, we were glad to check out!

The location is perfect for what we wanted. The room was in general very nice.
Some of the Staff were very unprofessional, bordering on being rude at times.
Bar closed early on New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day, and we were not pre warned of this on arrival. TV was switched off before 12 on NYE therefore we didn't know when it was officially midnight, and unlike when we were there the previous year we were unable to watch the London fireworks in the bar, so went back to our room.
We informed shortly after arrival that the toilet seats in both rooms needed securing, but nothing was done about it, and it was actually quite dangerous.
Very disappointed as my wife and I had such a lovely time the previous year, so friends came with us this time and it was no where near as good.

location to family
no soy milk at breakfast
no white bread at breakfast

The breakfast, although black pudding missing though on menu.
everything was just below par with a real can’t be bothered attitude. Some proper management could really make a difference. Soap dispensers empty, lack of coffee, extractor not working, wallpaper coming away. Then there is the dinner. NO. This chef can’t even cook cabbage.
3.9
Good town centre location, friendly helpful staff, good menu food nicely cooked and served hot.
