Lovely rural pub with rooms with private entrances. All facilities and very friendly and helpful staff. Nothing was too much trouble and fabulous gluten free options for me (coeliac). Safe place to secure bikes also.
Nothing.

all the staff were outstanding and exceptionally helpful as soon as we stepped inside the building. food was reasonable and good value. we arrived by bicycle and the staff were really helpful in helping us get busses on one day though nothing was noted about buses on the website or inside.
3 dogs whining next door to our room 8 (not all night but whenever the owner left the room! and this was for several hours during dinner) - also I fear these dogs (and perhaps others) were using the field next to us as a toilet going by the smell outside. Breakfast is an English Fryup (and very good); however, I had to ask for cereals (which was fulfilled) and no yogurt or fruit and the like so I would take my own next time, though other guests seemed to prefer the former so could be just me.

Amazing food and full menu
Fairly sure no hot water for shower

Staff are friendly.
Wifi in the barn is non existent and you don’t get any data coverage either. If you’re a family travelling be prepared for a internet detox.

- The old pub was lovely and the staff were incredibly pleasant and helpful.
- The room was comfortable enough with some nice amenities and it was clean.
- Lots of noise, kitchen fan kicks in early in the morning and lasts all day. The walls are paper thin so you can hear next door coughing

Lovely private apartment in barn conversion. Well equipped and clean. Very nice food, good selection of ales. Friendly staff and welcome dogs
Not their fault but seemed a lot of flies due to nearby cows apparently. May need to do something about it as not nice when eating.
Some black mould on ceiling above shower could be easily removed.

the location of this country inn is really lovely, the suite was comfortable , and separated from the main building, making it more quiet and private than the rooms inside. The room was well appointed, and laid out, with the leather sofa placed for watching the TV, was a nice touch.
All the staff were nice, kind and helpful, and the cooked buffet breakfast was excellent, with plenty of choices, which were kept topped up. Great beer garden, with lots of tables, and plenty of parking spaces nearby, safely fenced off from the those drinking and dining.
Just a few small points could have been better, but overall they would not put us off staying again.
1. The room was clean overall, but there were a few dog hairs left on the carpet, even though it had been obviously been vacuumed. I understand the rooms here are pet friendly, but perhaps the housekeeping team need a vacuum that has a pet hair removal brush, rather than the 'Henry' type we saw?
2. There was some loud noise the next morning, when the housekeeper was accessing the cleaning tools needed- they seem to be kept in store room in the entrance lobby between the 2 suites. This will have been very loud in the room directly next to this store room, as it did wake us up. We cannot fault the cleaners for their work, but perhaps this store should be relocated, or used only for items that are needed later in the day?
3. The bathroom, it must be stated, does need refurbishing, as there were some cosmetic issues in need of attention. Despite this, it was clean and perfectly functional.
4. As other guests walk by both windows of this suite, it would be better to have either nets, or blinds, for privacy, as we couldnt leave the curtains open when getting dressed, etc. The entrance door too, could do with a curtain over the glazed section as well, to block light out early on.
Hopefully, the owners will be able to address these small issues fairly easily, which would give a score of 10 from us.

The location was excellent. The food in the restaurant was fabulous. The staff were friendly and the room was clean.
There was a damp smell in the room on arrival. We had to open a window at the start and did not close it throughout our stay.

Regular returning guests. This is a well-run Pub/Restaurant/B&B. We always use the Swan when needing accommodation in this locality. The venue is in the middle of Thetford Forest an A of ON beauty. The venue has accessible rooms close to car-parking. The building is 300 years old and some areas may be difficult for wheel-chair users. The staff are always accommodating.
We liked everything which was provided for us.
