Super tolles, uriges Pub.

Location cozy atmosphere
Timeschedule Breakfast Was only late breakfast available after 0900

Close to Oxford and easy to get to. Cosy pub with friendly staff.
Rooms are right by the smoking area, with no blind to the bathroom. The obscured glass does not hide anything when people are literally outside the room, therefore we avoided showering until the pub closed and still felt uncomfortable. Rooms have no sound proofing, we could hear next door coughing, talking, turning lights on and off, urinating into the toilet bowl. Sleep quality was 0 as we kept being woken by one of our neighbours. Several areas of thick dust.

Beautiful breakfast. Catered for vegetarians
I wouldn’t change anything. I had a great stay

Wir hatten kein Frühstück, uns wurden aber zwei Möglichkeiten angeboten. Zudem gab es genügend Kaffee, Tee und Kakao sowie einen Wasserkocher auf dem Zimmer.

Breakfast was expensive for what it was

This place is beautiful! The rooms were lovely, clean and comfortable. The staff were all really friendly and helpful. The food is incredible! It is so worth ordering the full English breakfast. It’s the best hotel breakfast I’ve ever had. I was travelling with my parents and they absolutely loved the place. We will all definitely be back in the future.

We liked the restaurant and food
No hot water in the morning to have a shower.
Room smaller than we had expected.

The actual character of the old pub was beautiful!! so much to look at and admire.
The accommodation was in the old stables off the pub, so you don't actually stay in the old pub. The rooms faced the courtyard so patrons were dining/smoking and drinking in the courtyard up until 930pm also with kids running up and down the verandah outside our room. I did enquire with the staff as to when the noise would lessen they replied around 930pm when patrons would start to leave. Staff were a little nonchalant at it all. It was one of the most pricey accommodation we stayed in on our trip and felt very overcharged for what we got

Minor hiccup with hot water on our second morning

Great quiet location, but around 20 minutes from the main city centre. Room was well equipped and comfortable. All staff were fantastic, special mention to James, Sara, Libby, Katie and Cydney!
All was ok with the property

The pub and staff were lovely
Unfortunately we did not have a very good stay. The room and bed linen were dusty and dirty. The “continental breakfast” that cost is £15 consisted of a cheap, stale croissant and coco pops!! The room was located next to the smoking area of the pub and right underneath a speaker that played 80s music until closing! To top it all off there was a dead rat right outside our bedroom window. Thankfully my husband didn’t tell me at the time as I have a huge phobia. It’s such a shame as the pub was lovely. With a bit more effort, the rooms could be too.

The pub was welcoming and the food was excellent in lovely surroundings. The room was generally clean and fine for a one night stay. The bathroom was nice with a lovely big shower.
We were not made aware of any wifi and couldn't find anything in the room telling us if there was wifi. The bathroom had a funny smell - possibly the drains.

Bedding could do with upgrading. Cleaning could be improved
Dirty toilet and very dirty toilet brush. Very old and flat pillows.

The location was good. The room small but adequate with an excellent shower and easily controlled heating. Money has clearly been spent on some nice touches with co-ordinated lamp shades, &c.
The bed was appalling. The mattress old and lumpy and lacking a mattress protector. The pillows yellowed to near brown with age and limp. The bed linens old and torn, and covered with an open weave wool throw that has definitely seem better days. A pity that so much has been invested in providing good facilities, with so little attention to sleep comfort.

My partner & I really loved our stay at the talkhouse. All the staff were so friendly and helpful. The food was delicious and our room was so comfortable. Beautiful building and in a lovely setting. Easy too, to get to the park & ride into Oxford.
Two tiny things , no WiFi or BBC channels

Staff were really friendly, breakfast was lovely and room was clean and comfortable. We really enjoyed our stay here and would stay again
You need to be able to drive to stay here as its on its own down a country lane

The property was superb, outside of the pub in an annexe, the room was warm and peaceful. The room was comfortable with a great bathroom adjoined and a good TV to match.
The Talkhouse itself was fantastic, the food was superb (eat the duck chips), the staff were friendly and accommodating, the beer superb and everything well priced.
Plenty of parking in a private car park too which was useful.
We will be staying again!
Nothing.

The room was very clean and the location tranquil. The pub is beautiful and serves tasty food.
Weather was very cold, however the room stayed toasty and it was possible to regulate the temperature.
Room felt a bit smaller than expected.

The location for Oxford was great. Very close to park and ride.
The pub itself was nice and the food, whilst expensive was good.
The staff were polite.
The room itself was freezing when we arrived and smelt terrible. We had to immediately put the heating on and it took a good hour to warm up.
Speaking of the heating, the plumbing in the rooms was incredibly noisy. A constant knocking noise through the night..This can be forgiven as these are converted stables but it was very loud in the night. Especially when the toilet was flushed.
Over night we were woken by rats/ mice scurrying over the room. We accept this happens in more rural locations but efforts could be made to deter them.
The rooms are tired and could use refreshing, paint work coming away including the bathroom radiator peeling all over the bathroom floor and mould around the bath and shower screen.
The main areas of the room have been cleaned but the corners and under the bed neglected.
The bedside lamps did not work, blown bulbs.
The worst aspect was the shouting and swearing from the kitchen at about 9pm. Presumably celebrating the end of their shift. There were a number of staff shouting very loudly 'f' this 'f' that. It was incredibly unpleasant.
When we checked out I handed the key in. They did not ask us how our stay was. Just took the key and said thank you.

The location was wonderful, perfect for daytrips to Oxford and the Cotswolds when you have a car. The staff was friendly and dinner at the Pub was great value.
The beds were too small (1.20 m?). Cooked breakfast was only available from 10 AM, continental breakfast was available before. These were cold croissants etc delivered at the door, not great value for money. Rooms were not cleaned, no fresh towels or clean cups: we had to ask for these ourselves. Note also that on sundays the pub is closed, meaning we didn't have cups to make some tea that evening.

The full English breakfast was a little expensive but delicious. The granola option was definitely not worth the money.
The shower flooded the bathroom which caused a few issues

Breakfast was good
The drains in the bathroom were blocked and the first day we couldn't have a shower, Having said that we were offered another room but as we had settled in wit all luggage including dogs stuff we declined as the owner said he'd sort drains while we were out that day.
