I was unable to use the shower, as there was no cold water to the room.

Lovely hotel. Spacious room, very comfortable bed. Lovely handmade biscuits and personalised note from management on arrival. Dining here is fantastic, great menu, very helpful waitress.
Staff here were very welcoming and friendly.
It seems strange that there’s no tv in the room but they provide a radio.

Location, friendly staff
Hard Pillows, but that is a personal preference

Perfect location/ premises for a night away
Minor but couldn’t control heating very well in our room / no water out of hot tap in bathroom, eventually shower did work after leaving it on

The hotel is on the Cornwall/Devon border and perfectly located to break a long journey. It is easy to find, has ample parking, and on this occasion we were able to make use of the Tesla chargers in the car park. We were upgraded on check in to a lovely comfortable room. We had already book dinner at the hotel (based on reputation for good food) and we passed a lovely 90 minutes beforehand in the lounge, sipping drinks by the log fire. Our dinner was excellent with a wide choice and the wine we chose was very drinkable. Service was attentive and friendly and we enjoyed our evening very much. The next morning, after a fine breakfast, the hotel provided a walking guide around Lifton which we completed, before setting off back home.
Honestly, nothing comes to mind. We were were delighted by our stay which met all of our needs.

We arrived after reception had closed but Jackie phone and was very helpful.
However, we booked a superior king size. The bed was definitely not a king size ( room 5) it was very uncomfortable with a cheap springy mattress and The whole thing sloped downhill.
Self above the sink made it impossible for husband to shave!

The staff were very accommodating and very friendly
Nothing !

We stayed at the Arundell for a wedding we were attending nearby, the location was perfect for that. The rooms were cozy and comfortable with space to do your hair and make up. The breakfast was nice, we had a full English. We had dinner at the restaurant which was also lovely. The staff were super helpful and friendly. Would definitely go back to explore the grounds and the surrounding countryside. Plenty of space to park.
The way that the shower functions in the room that we were in means you have to get in to turn it on, which means you end up with wet hair. Not really a problem but can be frustrating. Whilst the breakfast was nice, it was a bit expensive for what it was. There were no sockets near the bed to charge your phone etc.

The food was very good and the overall ambience of the place.
I struggled with getting cold water the first few nights, resulting in exceptionally hot showers (ouch) but this was resolved when mentioned to the reception staff by swapping my room while they fixed the problem.

Jess was so helpful to accommodate us with our little dog. A lovely dog friendly hotel, we had a lovely stay. Great location for visiting the gorge.
The vegan options could be improved, dinner menu was a bit over priced. The coffee in the morning however was great.

Friendliness of staff
Bathroom was tiny so everything got wet when you had a shower. Cooked breakfast was slow.

Comfortable well furnished hotel with a excellent classical dining room. This time we enjoyed a meal in the bar area and drinks in the sunny garden.
Not much that’s why we revisited.

A very old established beautiful hotel

Best combination of accommodation, friendly competent staff, wonderful food and excellent angling beats and guides imaginable. Casual sporting atmosphere combined with exceptional dining, shabby chic lounge and beautiful gardens…the best!

Great breakfast, extremely warm and helpful staff. Wonderful dinner and breakfast with locally sourced ingredients.
I didn’t not like it but the bathroom could have done with a bit of an upgrade.

Excellent location for my fishing trip. The Arundell has recently been fully refurbished and is a great place to stay.

Wonderful comfortable and welcoming hotel in a convenient and peaceful location

Beautiful building, well furnished room, very comfy bed, lovely welcoming reception
No coffee in room, shower controls very basic (only seemed to have the one setting - hot pressure washer). I have to say the staff at breakfast were not the most welcoming, in contrast to reception. Could live with that, but not for the price.

Excellent choice of breakfast and food excellent quality and very well presented. Service very good.
On the first evening when we had dinner we were very rushed and almost straight after our nibbles were brought out, our main courses brought out. Wrong wine bought out as well.
Biscuits in room were stale and inedible.

Very nice dinner, staff, room was exceptional.
It was the single most pleasant hotel experience I had in the past 3.5 years of international work travel.
I would stay here again on my own accord.
Road was closed - not the hotels fault!!

My room was well furnished and quiet. The staff were friendly and courteous . The food was good
I thought the dinner could have been served in the beautiful dining room with tablecloths etc instead of bare tables in the bar . I wondered why breakfast wasn’t included in the overall price, instead of a separate item . That seemed unusual

The food was incredible as was the service.
My room was a little dated yet perfectly clean and maintained. Also booked here for EV charging but the Type 2 chargers were out of action due to groundwork’s.
