Part way through a fabulous refurbishment. The bedrooms are very smartly decorated and furnished, luxury bathrooms. I was very impressed for my first stay at this hotel in Sheffield, I stay reasonably often in the city and will be back
3.0
Customers service was really Lovley and welcoming, room was dirty the bathroom smelt like it had been cleaned with a dirty mop head, we had to keep the door closed because of the smell, the floor had grit on it so couldn’t walk round without having footwear on, there was no shower and bath stuff to wash with had to ask lady at reception for some, they gave you one towel between two of us that we had to re use in the morning wet, there was half a toilet roll left on the stand. The bed was comfy & coffee facilities was good, we had a balcony which had a Lovley view, we had someone banging all night on our wall that kept us up, and manitance from outside or inside the building that also kept us awake. The small fridge had no drinks or anything in it to use.
Overall we was there a night which was enough but I wouldn’t say it was 4 star worthy

Staff were very friendly but the hotel is very rundown and not very accommodating. Breakfast opened at 8am not the best given they are hy Ponds forge and most swimmers need to be in warm by 7.30. Will not use again

On a business trip, staff were (I hate to say this) unfriendly and one at the bar had fingernails which were disgusting, and he was unshaven etc

The hotel has changed a lot weve been staying at this hotel for years the new refurbish room wash lovely very nice especially the shower luxurious staff in barr and restaurant work hard and couldn't do enough for us
4.0
On the whole good. Room with three people staying but only two mugs/glasses provided. Tea/coffee/biscuits not replaced when room serviced. Shower dripped, bath plug not working properly. Selection of available on tap beers in bar was poor. Guinness and Worthington both not on.

Great hotel. Friendly staff ideall situated for a night out in Sheffield. Close to railway station and city centre but also has a big car park. Rooms are recently renovated and very stylish and comfortable.

We’re to start, room was ok but dirty, cobwebs, paint peeling, etc, the Bed was absolutely terrible, it was so saggy I could sleep more than 1 hour before waking up in pain, my wife could sleep in the bed as we rolled together, she ended up on the floor, restaurants drink order wrong, food order wrong, we were shown to table that had not been cleaned when the waitress re stocked the cutlery she left the old cutlery and on the table, I ask for this to be swapped the new cutlery was all loose in her hand so for we new it was the same as she took away, it was truly terrible, the only redeeming feature was breakfast that was great and the lady’s on duty were frendly and very polite. I also report that on our floor 2 riser cupboards had been left open any one could access fuse boxes , plumbing infrastructure etc, reception was in formed of this but 1.5 hours later on our return to the room, cupboards still open shocking will never use Best western ever again.

Super friendly staff who fussed over our dog and made I'm very welcome. As this was our first hotel stay with a dog I was very impressed. My only quibble was there was no usb socket to charge my phone. Only on leaving did I discover plugs could be borrowed at reception, I will know for next time.

We checked in and staff was really friendly and helpful, we then went to the room to find only one towel and one of the beds with no duvet. We asked reception on the way to the restaurant for these items, the towels eventually turned up without the second duvet. So had to go back to reception to ask again. We then went to the restaurant. The staff was friendly and took our order. Starters come a was really nice. Then there was a delay between the main meal coming out. Once it arrived it was all overcooked and dry.

Great stay. All the facilities we needed, well-equipped gym, clean pool, great location and very good breakfast. Hotel being renovated but we were there at a weekend so there was no noise or disruption. Will definately stay here again.

Lovely room, great balcony over looking Quays. Bed not the most comfortable, quilt not very thick.
5.0
Lovely hotel with well appointed and comfortable rooms. It has a nice leisure centre with gym, sauna, steam room and a 20m pool. The pool is lovely but very warm for actually swimming lengths. Parking is easy and it’s a 10 minute walk to town.

Nice bed and bathroom…. Had to wait 15 minutes at check out for reception staff to check I hadn’t stolen anything from the room which took the edge off the stay
3.0
Really uncomfortable beds that didn’t look like the sheets had been changed.
Large rooms and good bathroom. Very dated but they are updating the hotel at the moment. I hope it was an old room I was in . I would have asked but there was no one at reception when I left

Really lovely room and newly renovated but unsure about the area surrounding. Felt out of the way and a bit dodgy.

Very good hotel for staying in Sheffield. Staff are friendly, rooms are comfy and there is a good spread at breakfast.
Pool and gym facilities good quality and clean.
Only downside is that lunch & dinner options are on the expensive side

We had a very comfortable stay here. While parts of the property were a little dated, it is currently being refurbished. The staff were fantastic / very helpful and friendly. I particularly want to mention the team in the restaurant in the evenings - really great!
The car park was easy to access and not over full.

Used this hotel for the family. Grandkids enjoyed the pool. Ease to walk to city to find plenty of restaurants
Staff were friendly and efficient

My husband and I are regulars at this hotel, but on this occasion, we introduced it to our friends for a joint stay. We were so pleased they felt the same!
It’s situated in a great location- it feels like another world away from the city with its tranquil quayside and narrow boats but it’s still a walkable distance away.
We were aware of renovations going on but there was very little sign of them over the weekend.
The rooms were great with a decking/ balcony and garden table with chairs overlooking the quay. A fridge in the room would have been an added bonus but we managed ok.
We utilised the gym and swimming pool to the max- there was some great equipment on offer and helpful staff.
We are locally ( True Loves) on the quayside for pizza, which always has a home from home vibe. However, we had breakfast at the hotel, which was great value for money. It catered for vegans, vegetarians and the meat eaters in our party, with plenty of choice. The staff were attentive and the view was wonderful.
We will definitely be returning.

Pleasant enough.

Extensive building works made it impossible to sleep, the staff were smug and unhelpful. they said they would refund two nights as we had to leave and book another hotel, but haven't bothered to do it. Terrible customer service, won't stay with best western again.

Hotel was all fine, they are in the process of refurbishing it- we had an old style room so it was slightly tired but who cares. Comfortable and clean.
The pool was also a bit tired but good size and very nice to have sauna and steam. Changing room showers should be next on the upgrade list!
Restaurant was poor. Menu like going back to the 90s (deep dish pizza?) Very unimaginative. No wonder there wasn’t anyone else there! Service was still very slow though- despite having no other customers, our server was not attentive. I’m sure we would have ordered way more drinks etc if she’d only been more present.
Breakfast, on the other hand, was GREAT. lovely attentive staff and good selection of food. Thanks

The hotel is being renovated and that is made clear when booking. The noise does affect your stay if you wish to use your room during the day, however there are places to sit in the bar area or go for a swim. The old rooms are ok, clean and passable the new room my daughter was in looked lovely but had teething issues, sticking toilet flush and ill fitting room door that had to be pulled shut making it noisy. The staff were very nice and were trying their best in what must be challenging circumstances

Really great place to stay for budget no nonsense functional stays. Fantastic for ponds forge swimming meets and lots of car parking

Nice room overlooking quayside. Nice pool and leisure facilities and really nice breakfast

We stopped on a Friday night. The room was clean and the bed very comfortable. Unfortunately we seemed to be next to a supplies room and we were woken early 6am(ish) by the door opening and closing and loud talking by the staff. Unfortunately too we had guests staying as a group in several rooms also up early talking loud and slamming doors as they went from room to room. We don’t blame the hotel on that. We mentioned it to the receptionist upon checkout. She just said we will have a word with them.

Great hotel with good facilities. Used it stay after a show in town and was obviously used by quite a few others for the same purpose.
Which brings me onto my next point, lots of people arriving back at about the same time (11pm) and residents bar not sufficiently stocked or staffed to cope.
Other than this minor irritation a pretty good stay.

Great hotel in great location, my room was very nice, clean and comfortable. Definitely recommend

Easy check in and parking. Walking distance to the town centre. Good menu and room service.
