2nd stay and paid extra for a “double executive “. Word is dissppoonted , expecting a spacious room with a decent view . Instead got a dated room , view of a flat roof , 1980s style hair dryer , previous stay had a 70s stained yellow dryer ,worn brass door handles with loose fitment handles , dated curtains and mis match carpets along corridors . Breakfast is well presented and good choice . Great location to town but parking at hotel sucks when a function is on , non resistants visiting taking up all the spaces and double parking . In a nut shell , lovely looking hotel but dated interior and fittings needs upgrading .

Lovely hotel. Would have liked to have had a net curtain in our room.

Clean hotel, elegant entrance and stairs. It’s in a beautiful building and lovely town. Gorgeous Abbey right next door. Lovely walks nearby, but only if you like hills.
Beds were uncomfortable and the pillows were like bricks. No air con and the windows in the room didn’t open, only the ones in the bathroom.
Extras were offered via email which I accepted & filled in a form but nothing was implemented.

Very nice place near town centre and next to the Priory which is beautiful. Not so pleased with the constant noise and also that nobody came to clean our room until after 1530 far too late when we wanted to rest. Reception staff very helpful

Great location comfortable room
No air con so room was very hot… not usually a problem in England!!!
Amused that the free bottle of water was from Harrogate

The hotel was beautiful and the Staff was wonderful. Free, delicious breakfast available each day included. It was uncharacteristicly hot and there is no air conditioning. But they do provide a small fan. Other than that, it was perfect.

The Abbey Great Malvern was such a gem of a place to stay overnight. The hospitality was superb and the accommodations were excellent. The town of Malvern is a marvelous, quaint town with decent food and pub options. Highly recommend!

Friendly reception staff and pleasant decor in the main areas. Our room was up in the eaves which did have good view of the hills. Shower was not very powerful and took some adjusting and overall looked like it needed updating and bathroom curtain was ripped. Breakfast was ample and we enjoyed a tasty evening meal.

Came for the car show at show ground, couldn’t fault the room and breakfast. Will stay again next time show is held in Malvern.

So I searched hotels.com for hotels with pools and selected this one which DOES NOT HAVE A POOL! In the details it says access to but given I had specifically filtered for this I didn’t check the small print … it in fact gives you a voucher for a local pool which is a 15 minute walk ( they tell you 5) and then when you get there it’s booked up with lessons and inaccessible. The staff were friendly and this is not necessarily the hotels fault but def the website is deceiving and the photos don’t show you the majority of the hotel which is a 1970’s concrete slab either!

2nd time here and enjoyed my stay. Very accommodating staff and got to check in a bit early.

My room is very dated and although I kept both windows open all the time it had a faint smell of mould. There were coffee stains on the radiator, the cups looked a little stained, the windows were dirty and the room generally didn’t look clean. The curtains/cushons/bed throw look old and as they hadn’t been cleaned for a long time. The bathroom is very dated and I could not regulate the hot/cold water flow in the shower. Also to be noted that there is no air conditioning in the room although a fan is provided. The sleeping experience wasn’t particularly positive, probably because the duvet is syntetic.
The common areas in the hotel looked better but very dated. Staff was very friendly and the breakfast was ok.

The hotel is tired and needs a good clean in the public areas and restaurant.
4.0 / 10.0
Room was good though the view was just the side road entrance to the car park. Hotel staff all very friendly and the public areas had a good ambiance. Breakfast was excellent. Our problems were with the comfort levels in the room. There were 8 pillows in our room but all with the same degree of firmness, all were extremely firm with no give at all. The result was like sleeping on a brick, one was not enough but two was way too high, no amount of pummeling affected this. When we stayed it was very warm, the room definitely needs air conditioning. A fan is available in the room though it is not really adequate. The receptionist informed us that they cannot get air conditioning because it is a listed building, a quick check on Google lets you know it is possible. Either she didn’t know and was making it up or else that is the official line. Whichever way you look at it, it is still lying to your guests and we didn’t appreciate that. Regardless of the two negative comments we would still stay here again but maybe take our own pillows next time.

We stayed at the Abbey Hotel for 4 days over the May bank holiday ,first time at the hotel .The staff were all friendly . The hotel lounges were large with comfy arm chairs and sofas with a bar area. We stayed in a standard double room 208. The bed was perfect ,the most comfortable bed we have ever had in a hotel for a good night sleep.
The breakfast was included and we had a full cooked English breakfast ,it is self service and staggered times so you are not kept waiting. The food was good.
There is a restaurant with a set menu . They no longer serve Sunday Roast but there is other meals on offer
We enjoyed the location as it was central to the town , next to the priory church and shops, There are plenty of cafes and pubs nearby and a Wetherspoons up the road for very good value for food and drinks.
There were a few very minor issues during our stay ,the hotel and rooms are really clean , beautiful carpets, and well decorated , the bedroom furniture in our room was very tired looking which let it down. The bathroom was good with a fantastic shower and lovely hot water.
The tv didn’t always switch channels ,could have been the remote but after my husband retuned the tv it worked better. The parking is free ,the spaces are tight in the car park ,there are over hanging trees which need cutting back as leaves and pigeon poo cover your car and poo even ended up inside our car on the back seat. However overall the hotel was good quality and would stay again.

The room was large and spacious and very clean. Staff were very courteous and the location of the hotel was close to the local restaurants and amenities.

Our room overlooked the cocktail bar next door which kept us awake until 11.30, and some sort of concrete building in the other windows. The room was tired, but worst of all was when we went to breakfast, there were dogs in the restaurant. For me this is incredibly unhygienic. As a retired forensic investigator I know only too well what people are breathing in when dogs are in an inside venue, and believe me, it really isn't pleasant. Will not be returning under any circumstances. Standards have fell sharply to what it once was.

Lovely old hotel in the centre of Great Malvern suited all our needs perfectly.

Great location in the town with wonderful views from the restaurant over the Malvern hills. Large free car park, rare in hotels these days. The staff are friendly and helpful. The food at dinner was very good. The bed room was fine with a king size bed which had a very firm mattress, not completely comfortable for me. Overall, an enjoyable stay.

Great for the theatre but need to ask for soft pillows from reception next time we stay!

The hotel is in a convenient location for the theatres and restaurants in the town centre. We had a comfortable room, though I had to pay extra to upgrade my room when the step free access room I had requested wasn’t available. Staff were helpful and polite. There was a good choice of breakfast items on the buffet.
