Cheap and cheerful, staff were helpful, food was good, the room looked a bit tired but clean, tidy and warm, with an amazing view over the harbour

I enjoyed my stay thank you very much

The hotel is a a reminder of it's hayday. I can't complain about the home (guests that wat up at 6am to watch soaps is a different story) but if you want Hilton quality, stay at the Hilton, if you want a bed for the night with dated decor.... Perhaps a little unfair, to referb this massive hotel it would have to be done floor by floor, but by the time they have done, the previous floors would be outdated.
It's an odd one, I believe if you had each floor as a theme floor they would have more success but it does feel like the hotel is catered for the 1/2 pint shandy coach tours but has potential to be boutique and budget.

Was one of the cheaper places in Folkestone. Great convenient location near the harbour and a short uphill walk to the Town. Suitable for the purpose of getting your head down for a few hours, bathroom and room clean. Breakfast wasnt anything to shout about, but stopped a gap. Place just feels a bit dated, even saw the Congo go through the bar one night... Sort of reminds me of a caravan park..
No complaints about the place.. just wasn't that appealing for me.

Very happy with our stay but the noise from other guests at the hotel shouting outside the lobby doors that went on until 3am kept us awake so that by morning we were exhausted from lack of sleep. Surely something can be done to stop this. It spoilt our stay.
3.3
Unfortunately we only had one night in this hotel. Overall we had a pleasant stay.
The bed was too hard for my liking, but the view from the room definitely made up for that. It was amazing.
3.3
The hotel is dated and needs lots of improvement
We’ve been a few times and decided to upgrade to premier double room hoping there was nicer modern rooms but the room was worst then some we’ve had
The balcony was held up by scaffolding all rusty and not looking safe and concrete base full of bird poo. The furniture and decoration is poor standard and dated. The room looks like it needs a proper clean and painting
Been to lot better accommodation and not paid these prices
To top it off the car park was rammed and no where to park even though they charge u £5 a day when u check in
Will not be returning to this hotel again even though in a good central location
3.3
Use the Burstin regularly for seaside stop. Fabulous weather and top location, the harbour looks even prettier when lit up at night.
3.3
A very tired and grubby hotel. Needs completely refurbishing
3.3
The hotel was budget but I found it very tired and worn. There was a constant group of foreign men hanging around outside all the time and as a woman alone I felt uncomfortable walking through them all when I returned to the hotel in the evening. I was told it is used for asylum seekers which didn’t surprise me. Not somewhere I will book again

Two motorcyclist stopped one night on the way back home from Austria to mid wales. The hotel looks a bit tired on the inside but was clean and acceptable and value for money
3.3
Nice comfortable room, although we were given a family room, but feel it would’ve been a little small as a family room.
The room was clean.
The hotel is nice and central to local attractions and buses.
Stayed a few times already and would stay again.
Staff were friendly and helpful.
3.3
Very tired hotel. Bed was very uncomfortable. Our room was at the back and could hear an annoying noise all night plus emptying of the glass skips very early in the morning. The cold water tap couldn't be turned off so ran all night. Shower temperature was difficult to maintain.
3.3
Was not good. From check in to checkout we was surprised by conditions and hidden costs. Internet is paid. In the room you need to pay for every single device. Pool is extra pay. Beer on bar is flat . Cleaning only if requested 24h prior. Room was very noisy and wake up 4am. Only liked the view to the sea.
3.3
Convenient for a night before heading to the Shuttle for trip to Copenhagen. Nice room with huge bed
3.3
Slapped with an additional £5 per night parking charge which I was not expecting. The bays also appear to be quite narrow.
Hotel corridors stank of cigarette smoke
3.3
The Britannia style!
Good location!

We were pleasantly surprised by this lovely hotel.roim was great with a balcony and sea views, staff were very friendly and good was great too.
The evening entertainment was good as was bingo.
The hotel faces the harbour with spectacular views, and in general everyone was friendly.
We signed up before we left to brittania hotels and booked another stay with some great deals.
3.3
The hotel was rather overused and the smell of damp and old was rather potent . The reception staff was helpfull but you could see the consistent flow of guests was stressfull for them. The room was first floor above the entertainment area and the bright outside hotel lights even with closed curtain was bright as a day. Clean linnen and towels , didnt have the heart to check the matress. It was just 1 night to get some sleep. The beach was a stark eye opener to modern day Uk. I must be honest i would never go back for a stay in Folkestone , neither the hotel. Sad it once was a nice spot in the Uk. Parking was great , i didnt take pictures. It is what it is no need to rub it in

Booked two months in advance off for front of hotel when we get there we should’ve been at the front in room 200 and something but they but they had crossed it out and put us in room 458 on the fourth floor when originally we would’ve been on the second floor when I questioned this, they said that someone else went to stay an extra night Disgusting service
3.3
Absolutely loved, staff were friendly adm we had a refurbished room you could see they are putting the effort in only thing I didnt really like was they have got new chairs in the bar lounge which are smaller so if you are on the ample side its not too comfortable
3.3
Our stay was okay, no lock on bathroom door , and the entertainment for a Saturday night was terrible, had to park over the road, which cost £20 for 24hr because the hotel car park is always full which was okay for one night , but if we stayed for more than one night we would not be able to afford it.
3.3
Good welcome and explanations, good service at bar and excellent breakfast, room was very clean, semi-sea facing and had a good bathroom. Hotel was busy which helped atmosphere.
3.3
Paid extra for a view but window was broken so almost not possible to look out.
Bed was broken.
No water (out of order and no information about it)
3.3
Love the place, nice staff, cool 1960’s retro vibe, amazing views and great location, right in the centre of everything you need to see in town. Stay there regularly on business.
3.3
wanted to get away from home for a night so booked this hotel. stayed here before so thought i'd come back. room was clean and lots of space, however woke up with bites all over my body which was not good
3.3
When i got room still had workman mess was left on balcony
3.3
Only one free socket. Used toiletries in the bathroom. No shelf in bathroom to put anything on. Dirty inside window (sticky hand marks). Shower not functioning - did not notice until the morning. While we were down for breakfast someone had vomitted outside the “wing” door (see photo). Felt like we were staying in some sort of institution….
3.3
Nice stay before our cruise.
3.3
Incredibly dirty and unclean, problems with the rooms. Not a clean plate or cup to be seen
3.3
It was a good stay, this hotel is in ideal location, good food, lots of amenities. Clouse to the beach, lots of walking area. We had a great trip.
3.3
Property needs some maintenance. Doors are dirty and old, need a lick of paint. Few bits that need fixing and painting.
