Was disappointed that wasn't offered an upgrade when Hotels.Com Gold Member says this should be offered when available ????
Also - my Company Credit card wasn't working (Hotel Room had already been paid in full) and the receptionist tried my card and when it failed - stated that I couldn't stay the night unless I produced another card !! Had to use a card i never use luckily I had it with me
Probably wont be staying again

Excellent location for shows at the Plymouth Pavillions.

Really nice and helpful staff, very quick turnaround of online queries - couldn't have been more helpful.

Hotel is old, is fairly clean but smells stuffy . Our bedroom ceiling was leaking. Room was fairly small
bathroom was tiny but clean. Breakfast staff gave poor servi e and seemed not to care for its guests. Breakfast had sat undar a heat lamp and was dry, served on a scorching plate.

Friendly staff, great location. Room was lovely. Great to have pool and gym. Changing rooms do need a refresh as the showers were grim. Bar meal was ok, seating not really conducive to dining though.

The family room/s we booked was a good size. It had a double bed and a single bed in one room, and then 2 single beds in another room. The bathroom was a massive wet room that looked like it had been recently fitted. The beds were really comfy. The only thing that let it down a bit was that the family room was on the busy road side of the building. It was on a busy traffic junction, and there was a bar just down the road which was fairly noisy - it was a Friday night though. The kids commented about the noise, but then they are not used to being anywhere noisy (as we live on a quiet street) - they soon went to sleep though.
Breakfast the following morning was lovely, and the staff were really nice.

Great hotel, fantastic staff, pool, sauna and steam room were a bonus.
Close to shops, ferry port and Plymouth hoe.
Definitely would recommend this hotel and have done, my son and his partner are booked in next month.

This is the 3rd year we have stayed here and this year was the worse experience ever. We paid extra for a four poster room. The room was shabby with paint chips on furniture and worn out patches on the carpets. The windows wouldn't close properly and so the noise from the main road was not blocked out. Most annoyingly, the TV was briken and the toilet seat was not fitted correctly causing it to slide off when you sat on it. These last two were reported to staff on the first night, but they did nothing to resolve this for two days, and only after I informed a different member of staff. On the first evening we ate in the bar area and had to listen to a man making a threatening call to someone. He was almost shouting and was swearing to the point that a family moved their children to another area. The three staff who were in the area did nothing to address this.

Had a three night break on my own. To chill out as l am a carer. So enjoying some chill out time. The day before l was due to go l had a phone call from the hotel. The lift was out of action and l was booked in on the 5 th floor. I had asked for a walk in shower not in a bath. She was concerned about the stairs. There was no way l could go up all those stairs. So they moved me down to the first floor just in case. Lucky the lift was fixed. They left me on the 1st floor. The floor was absolutely lovely. Very comfortable. Not far to walk to the city centre and the hoe. I like it so much l am going back again on 31st October for two night as a Birthday treat. This will be my top choice of places to stay. Would recommend it .

Family, or accessible room was very large and clean. Good location but outward facing rooms very noisy due to single pained glass and a lot of evening events nearby. Ev charging points. Dated in appearance. Nice breakfast.
4.1
Hotel was very clean, the staff are very friendly.
Unfortunatelly the tv didnt work, and there was very low waterpressure in the shower, cannot plug the tub so theres no chance to take a bath, the key card didnt work many times.

Lovely 3 night break

Beautiful building and central
Location, But the Hotel is so dated. Low water pressure , drinking water at breakfast tasted of lime even the tea was awful - sorry hotel for bad review but I’m just being honest

Good: Location - close to city centre. Staff were very attentive. Food was excellent.
Bad: Noise - old building, so lots of creaking floors especially in the room above ours, where they seemed to walk about all night every night. Old sash windows which didn’t close properly (no double glazing at all, which would help) so all traffic noise was very loud, leading to poor sleep.
Bath/shower: jacuzzi bath, which sent lots of dirt into the water on certain settings. Shower is handheld on top of taps - no wall mounting or shower curtain, so difficult to use without soaking bathroom.

There was no VIP benefits here, the noise in the hallway kept waking me up, and then at 6am what sounds like scratching from the room above woke me up again. I was extremely tired.
Room and bathroom were clean and staff friendly.

The hotel is near shopping centre and seaside. All of staff were very helpful and friendly. Highly recommended.

Very happy with everything, great value for money, friendly staff and great location.

Booked 2 nights over and can't fault room condition apart from being a family of 2 adults and 2 daugters would have expected 2 separate rooms but apart from this no issue and spotless clean and really nice view. My only complain would have been using swimming pool , water temperature was super cold but sauna and steam room excelent and didn't quite understood why to pay for the carpark since owned by hotel. Had a really good stay , breakfast was excellent all single staff were so helpfull and polite, kind. I would stay again for sure

Poor customer service!
Wellness centre facilities are out of date and hygiene is not good at all.
4.1
Breakfast is awful...food been heat up as hotter on outside than inside...sausages were slimy...was concerned about food poisoning as myself and kids had each taken a bite but left it at that...waitresses proudly announced they don't do cappuccino just filter coffee...very 1980's...!!

Great breakfast...clean ..fresh room..handy location for town and Barbican....

Decent enough hotel, triple room was very handy, leisure complex was decent.
Breakfast was average and over priced.

It's very dated inside and has a bit of a dark vibe to it. My room was very clean but my sink was in the bedroom, not the bathroom and the shower cubicle was so low down I had to kneel to take a shower. The shower was also electric and had quite low pressure (as did the sink taps). Noise from the main road was quite bad due to a mixture of Plymouth boyracers and poor sound proofing. There are BP pulse EV charging bays in the carpark, but they charge £0.79 per kWh (for those that aren't familiar that's apocalyptically expensive) and when I arrived all EV bays were taken up by petrol cars. £15 for breakfast is excessive. I paid over £100 for the night which I think is not good value for money. It's more of a £40-£60 a night kind of hotel. I would add a photo but the Hotels.com app is buggy and doesn't allow me to.

Parking facilities were a little small and should be included in the price when booking

Lovely hotel but the rooms stink of sewage and cigarette smoke

staff were excellent and very helpfull room was spotless and plesent but found the bar area a bit cold.

Very clean stay we stayed in room 215 and 212, 215 was very nosey for me due to it being so close to the path and we could hear weatherspoons from our bed but that couldnt be helped by the hotel just didnt have a great night sleep. The beds were comfy and clean but there was loads of cracks around the room and the blind in 215 was broken at the bottom and you can see another window from the bathroom window.
The location and service of this hotel was amazing xxx

Quiet neighbour hood, easy walk to the Hoe. Great value, and we'd stay there again. One caution. We got a 3rd floor room. which had a sloping ceiling. Mind your head.
We'd recommend Steve's Brassary too. Big servings ,and good value too. Great service.

Great clean hotel, breakfast was lovely. Staff go above and beyond

My room in the roof appeared cramped at first but was adequate for a solo traveller. It was clean, comfortable and quiet. Room was well serviced every day.
4.1
This was my first stay at this hotel. My room was very clean and bright. The room was quite warm when I went in so I opened the window, I wanted to keep it open all night but couldn’t due to the frame constantly rattling, so I didn’t sleep particularly well. The on-site leisure facilities were nice.

Hotel parking is not included in hotel booking and it costed £15 extra for the 3 night stay.

Great location, surrounding & atmosphere, great staff. Most friendly and helpful receptionist, Bar and waiting staff. Entrance is great first impression of hotel. Everything about the hotel was exceptional. It was clean, stylish, roomy with excellent service in where we had dinner. Food was good and great value for money and service was attentive and efficient. Room itself was well equipped and comfortable. I was very pleased with my stay. I hope to be back for a longer visit in the future.

Good all round stay
