We had an enjoyable stay at the hotel. The room was large with two double beds and a bathroom.
The room was clean and had all the usual facilites(kettle and tea, coffee, milk, shower, wash basins, toilet etc.)
There was a wardrobe.
Very nice large room.

We stayed in this hotel for one night whilst travelling and it was a nice hotel. The room was spacious, although it was very plain, and there was plenty of free parking. We ate dinner in the restaurant and the food was excellent and reasonably priced. The bar area and terrace was also nice. The only negative was that there was no bath mat so the bath was slippery.

Stayed in the Coach House and it was lovely

Excellent welcome when we arrived from the receptionist. Breakfast was excellent and warm and the staff were very friendly. Hotel is a bit dated and could do with a little modification but the room was comfortable and spacious and the bathroom was in good shape too.

A very nice hotel in a quiet little community. Transportation can be difficult in this area as it’s a little removed from Swansea, but great value for money. Restaurant was excellent, staff was very helpful and accommodating when we had delays in getting transportation (uber & taxi). Hotel is a little dated, but well maintained. Would stay again!

Yes comfortable stay can’t help the weather. Lots of activities seem to take place through the day I personally recommend this is advertised to hotel residents and explained to. The guy that was directing traffic on the Wednesday morning was inconsistent let us move the traffic cones ourselves🤔then decided to shake his head and arms at me on return after being out, you can’t park yes I can I am a resident with a description of free parking on hotel policies?. You need to learn your customer service skills lovely even though you are only a maintenance man!!😡.

This is the fifth time I have stayed in this hotel as there is not much choice in the area
Previous times have been acceptable but my stay on July 3, 2024 was just too much.
The food is okay but the bed was so uncomfortable that I woke more tired than when I retired to bed, the double bed comprised of two cheap single divan beds, both of which were broken and it felt like I was sleeping in a hammock And needless to say, I woke with really bad back pain
To addinsult to injury The housekeeper walked in at 9:15 without even knocking on the door with me just getting out the shower!
I intended to complain at checkout but the receptionist never even looked at me or asked how my stay was which I think was down to the typical Welsh anti-English sentiment which is apparent upon arrival at the hotel as every flag is displayed by the English one

Although very slightly a little old fashioned it was excellent. The main asset of this hotel is the staff as every single person we met with was very friendly, courteous and efficient. Probably suits the more mature clientele, which is us, and the entertainment in the evening most likely would get through the auditions on Britain’s Got Talent but this is more than made up for by the staff and delicious food especially breakfasts.

Good venue. Lots of parking, good sized room with all I needed.

Toilet seat not attached properly.
Cheap biscuits.
No fridge to store cold drinks.

We booked a three-night stay at the Diplomat, but the mattresses in room 26 were so appalling that we left after just one, and found a different hotel. It was one of those really old-fashioned mattresses, in which you could feel every spring and it sagged so badly that you could feel the wooden bed frame underneath. Quite unacceptable for a hotel of this standard! We were offered another room, but the beds were as bad there, so we decided to leave. Instead of apologising, they tried to charge us for two nights, claiming that this was a late cancellation. They only relented when I said I would write a bad review… We come to this part of the world once a year. Next year, we certainly won’t be staying at the Diplomat!

Very big room, perfectly comfortable and bathroom was huge. Shower water pressure was excellent. Some peeling paint in the bedroom and noise insulation not as good as it could be - we could clearly hear the entertainment in one of the conference rooms underneath our room. Nice to have 2 types of pillow and book with ideas for what to do in the local area. Some of the reception spa staff were not as welcoming as the rest of the hotel (beautician was very helpful). Restaurant has a wide range of choices (both food and drink) and the staff were attentive and very efficient. Lounge area nice to relax with a drink. Nice live entertainment on Saturday evening too, unexpected and a nice surprise!

We stayed at the Diplomat Hotel to attend our friends wedding day. The venue was perfect, the attention to detail and attentive staff made it memorable. Our room was spotlessly clean and well presented. Very happy!!

My third visit to this hotel we both like staying here however during the last visit noticed prices have increased! Not in my view are warranted some staff need extra training notable bar staff it’s a shame really but the price increases have made us look further a field in future

The staff could not do enough for you very friendly and very clesn

The staff are lovely, helpful and welcoming and that is why I gave it 4 stars. Sadly the hotel itself has seen better days, it’s dated and scruffy, we didn’t have hot water when we showered, the walls are thin and we could hear conversations in the next room at night. It’s such a shame as the spa area is nice and the food in the restaurant was good but the building really does need proper maintaining to make it more appealing.

the property was a mansion house which you can see in the original area pre extension its been a hotel for about 50 years and the staff are commendable

Lovely hotel, staff all friendly and helpful, excellent food. Highly recommend

Staff very helpful and friendly. room comfortable and clean, although odd smell in shower sometimes, and could hear upstairs running taps, flushing toilet, but likely old pipework as it was an older building than the main hotel.
Huge plus is having steam, sauna and gym facilities which were great.

The staff were excellent throughout. Food was tasty. We had a great stay.

Unknown to me, my bag in the room meant that I was staying in a separate Annex call the coach house
This was away from the main hotel and on the main road, and there's obviously a listed building with its original windows, which meant that I heard the traffic all night long and especially at 5 am, so the two nights I was there I never got a decent night sleep

Second time staying at this hotel, we were just as happy. Staff are very friendly and restaurant staff attentive. The food is beautiful, we had our evening meal and breakfast in Trubshaws restaurant. Both were lovely and tasty, great selection for breakfast. Spa is great too and free for guests to use. I look forward to our next visit.

Staff are fantastic and range of food and drink is great. However the building and accommodation is tired and needs a dramatic face lift
