Nice Location. Very Comfortable

Lovely location. Had visited the Tiger for dinner before but never stayed. Didn't realise it is part of an overall estate, with many rooms/cottages. We stayed in Grace, which adjoins the pub. Room was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast in the pub was delicious and cooked and served quickly.

Sehr freundliche Leute mit guten Ambiente

Frühstück war sehr gut mit sehr freundlichen Personal. Die Zimmer sind zwar sehr einfach, aber trotzdem fühlt man sich sehr wohl. Die Lage ist ausgezeichnet für Touren.

Une belle étape sur les falaises d’Eastbourne

Superbe emplacement tout près des falaises d’Eastbourne, environnement naturel exceptionnel. Chambre cosy. Très calme le dimanche soir ( le pub ferme tôt).

Pas de fenêtre dans la chambre ( juste une porte vitrée qui donne sur la terrasse du pub) ni dans la salle de bains. Atmosphère confinée. Lit trop mou.

Lovely place with great staff and attached to a real English pub!

Great room with comfy bed and good TV. Bathroom great. Food great and good drink selection.

Slight niggle was the shower head was loose on the wall but didn’t detract from my stay.

Managers manner was brusque, sometimes just on the edge of rudeness.

Poorly furnished in the inn. Breakfast was ok, but powdered orange juice and very skimpy ‘buffet’.

Perfect

The pub is set in such a beautiful area and the best of location for walking, can ditch the car and find many different walks. We stayed in grace and it was a beautiful room with everything you can need. The room is a lot bigger than it looks in the pictures. Had a great nights sleep - it’s not often I can find somewhere that is as quiet as my home at night! Food in the pub was really good, massive portions and I loved that you could opt for a smaller dinner - this meant I could get through all the courses! Staff were super friendly - highly recommend. It’s been a great find and not far for us to travel to so will be making stays here a regular thing

Our stay was excellent food was very good.

Breakfast was excellent staff were very polite and helpful and it is in a great location.

We liked it but the taps were a bit stiff in the bathroom

Lovely and relaxing

Breakfast delicious and exceptional breakfast lady in charge - couldnt do enough for us.

We felt the evening menu choice wasnt that good. Having said that , the fish and chips were excellent

fabulous old pub with comfy rooms and a very warm welcome

The village of East Dean is beautiful and the pub is positioned on a pretty village green. On a very cold but bright January visit, the walking was superb. A circular walk directly from the pub over the seven sisters was wonderful in the sunshine. The evening meal in the pub was delicious and the staff were all extremely friendly. Breakfast was great; a delicious choice cooked to order and the staff were charming.

We were in the bedroom ‘Grace’ ,accessed from a door outside the pub. The room was very comfortable, but had no window. It wasn’t until the next morning that we realised there was a stable door opening. Consequently, the room was extremely hot, even on a cold January night, and it was difficult to sleep.

Perfection.

EVERYTHING - this is the most amazing place we’ve ever been so far!! where to begin? the staff was most welcoming and lovely, the breakfast was delicious, so was the dinner, the woodburning fireplace, the pub, the surroundings, the cozy cozy rooms, the bathtub… well it is perfect!! stay here if you can, we will for sure come again!!

Perfect stay!

Location was perfect! Set in the centre of a very pretty village overlooking the green. Just a few minutes down to the coast by car at Birling Gap or around a half hour walk by footpath. Free car park just a minute away. Room was quiet, traditionally furnished and very well equipped with a comfortable bed and lovely bathroom. Breakfast was fabulous with plenty of choice and freshly cooked to order. Front of house staff were friendly and helpful.

Lovely staff & an atmospheric old inn

Gorgeous old historic inn on the village green of a quintessential English village!

The room description said an extra large bed & it was just a standard double. Rather disappointing

The location is perfect, more or less on the South Downs close to Burling Gap. Good value

Excellent location, friendly staff, good breakfast. We ate at the Tiger and had a good dinner. The menu is not fancy but the curry was excellent - very tasty!

Lovely stay in a beautiful placer

Breakfast was excellent. The staff were superb and very helpful. The area is beautiful. The room was well appointed and the cleaning was very thorough.

The ventilation is limited and the room was very hot in August
