This charming craftsman-style guesthouse is surrounded by nature yet conveniently located within walking distance to hiking trails, kayak rentals, and the charming downtown area of Inverness. “Woodhaven” provides a blend of relaxation and adventure. Whether you’re lounging on the deck, exploring the nearby beaches or town, or enjoying a friendly tennis match, your stay here promises memories of relaxation and natural beauty.

The tennis court is private for this property and you, the guests. You can use it whenever you like. Please note that it does not have lights.

1. Confirmed guests will receive a local "Insider's Guide". We're a family business deeply connected to our community, and we hope you'll enjoy and respect this beautiful corner of the world while supporting our local economy sustainably. We love sharing it with our guests!
2. The home is professionally cleaned with eco-friendly products.
3. No chores for our guests! That’s what the cleaning fee is for, right? We have a fantastic team of housekeepers, some of whom have worked with us for over 10 years. We fully clean each home top to bottom, fully restocking all amenities, replacing worn-out items, and keeping things fresh and pleasant for our guests. We use top-notch cleaning products without annoying scents or chemicals, and our cleaners are paid living wages because they are the backbone of what we do and you’ll appreciate their attention to detail.
4. Absolutely no parties or loud/late-night gatherings. We have neighbors nearby on both sides who are noise-sensitive. Please respect the serenity of the neighborhood. If you're looking for a place to cut loose and laugh and play music late into the night, we have other homes nearby that are more appropriate. Please ask us for alternative accommodation and we’d be happy to help find a place!

6. Please note that the owners have a home next door which they regularly visit. This shouldn't impact your stay at all, as the homes are well separated and private, but you may cross paths with each other in the driveway.

The home is in a very quiet neighborhood, perched above Chicken Ranch Beach. There are just a few homes on our road. Our neighborhood is very woodsy, ideal for strolling, with only a handful of cars going by each day. We do have neighbors, but they are spaced about 40 yards away. There are no ambient sounds at night and as a result, any noise travels. Please be respectful to our neighbors who live here for peace and tranquility and keep outside noise to a minimum after dark.

Cannot wait to return. Just spend a long weekend in this beautiful and quiet home that is perched on the hills overlooking Tamales Bay. Absolutely spectacular. Very well equipped, and as mentioned in other reviews, tennis court is a nice bonus. Hardly wanted to leave the house since it was so nice to kick back and relax with a book and a glass of wine and a view. Thank you for opening your home to us.

We had an amazing time at Inverness, beautiful house and gorgeous area!
The only thing that was a little annoying is that we had to set up the sleeper sofa ourselves - though we booked the house for a family of 4 with 2 teenage kids and arrived around 1 am in the morning.
Other than that we had a wonderful stay.

Fabulous property for a peaceful stay set in a forest of oak and pine trees. Our favorite feature was the outdoor deck overlooking Tómales Bay. Rustic but not rough… well stocked with so many elegant extras like complimentary bottle of wine and chocolate, wild lavender and lemon verbena hand soaps. We appreciated a focus on sustainability without sacrificing convenience. Wish we could have stayed longer to try the tennis court and kayak rentals close by. Definitely stop at The Inverness Park Market for excellent food options! Close to all Point Reyes attractions and hiking. Thank you to our hosts for sharing your gracious home!

We were looking for a quiet, tranquil getaway near nature but with all the comforts. We found it here and more. Great views, lovely location, and well designed and cozy cottage. Loved the tennis court. The only minor issue is the shower head angle is a bit odd since it points straight out the shower door and the shower door did not close properly. Easy fixes.

We enjoyed the beautiful view, skylights, and peaceful setting. The location is close to some of the best hikes at Point Reyes, but is also just a short drive away from the Inverness Market with its fabulous breakfast burritos and sandwiches. What more could you ask for?

Great place to stay. The location is convenient to hiking trails, good restaurants, markets. Owners have thoughtfully provided for every need, comfortably furnished the house. Love sitting on the deck looking over the bay and listening to all the birds. Will be back soon!

The house had a comfortable bed with plenty of linens, blankets, and pillows. Nicely decorated with art and rugs and touches that really made a cozy environment. I particularly enjoyed the yoga room. The next day was sunny and we enjoyed a drive down to the end of the National Seashore and dinner at the Station House Cafe in Point Reyes Station. We stopped by the market for a few things and always a stop at the local bookstore. We have returned to the area at least 10 times. Would definitely stay here again. Thank you for a very pleasant vacation stay.

My husband and I had a great stay in Woodhaven. We loved the house with its unique redwood walls and beamed high ceilings. Numerous skylights made for great natural light, too. The bathroom was attractive with the glass shower stall offering privacy but nice views as well. The kitchen was very well equipped for meal prep and the outdoor grill worked well, as did the washer/dryer in the large pantry/storage room. The bedroom had a very comfortable queen bed with good reading lights, a large closet and a chair. Views of Tomales Bay were available in most places in the house. We enjoyed the fireplace (easy to use eco-logs), and the tennis court (racquets and balls in the pantry). We had several dinners at the house, and two great experiences at Due West (next to Olema House) as well as fun, tasty lunches at Sidestreet (Pt Reyes Station) and Tony’s Seafood (Marshall). Weather was perfect for hiking at Chimney Rock and Abbott’s Lagoon. We hope to have another chance for a multi-day stay at Woodhaven.

Wonderful getaway!
Wood Haven was a perfect escape place for us. It was so cute and so comfortably furnished, with everything thought of to make guests feel at home. The kitchen is incredibly well stocked which makes meal prep a breeze. The rough redwood paneled walls make the whole place feel cozy. There’s even a view through the trees to Tomales Bay. The property manager was immediately responsive when we asked to come a day earlier than planned and later had a question about check out. We can’t wait to go back!

We cooked all of our meals from the very well appointed (and clean) kitchen though there are some yummy restaurants nearby doing take out and outdoor dining during this time. We were happy some nights got chilly enough to sit in front of a cozy fire, but we were never chilly as the ceramic floors have radiant heat. Toasty! We loved that the TV is out of sight until you want it, and we never turned it on.We had a small issue arise and the property manager was super responsive and kind. And we met the owner of the home who is incredibly charming and pointed out some lovely walks for us to get better views of some birds we were seeking. 2 bald eagle sightings from the front of the house and from the deck over the water. Not bad :). She told us this home has been in their family for decades and it really does feel like a cared for family home.We look forward to returning. Just delightful all around.thank you for making our vacation so restful.

Great property, nice water views and a full tennis court. Also short walk down the hill to a beach (Chicken Ranch Beach) property is well run and clear instructions provided. Do remember that cell coverage in the area can be spotty, but house has great wifi and you're near lots of great hikes and activities. Very spacious property for a 1 bedroom, would certainly return. Lots of wildlife in the area too (hawks, woodpecker, deer etc.).

We stayed here for two nights and absolutely loved the place. It had everything we could have wanted... well-appointed kitchen to cook in, comfortable beds and furniture, beautiful outlook, and a quiet setting. Everything was easy.

Lovely house
We had a lovely stay at Wood Haven. The all redwood house is beautifully and comfortably furnished and very clean. The kitchen was stocked with basic supplies, like vinegar, oil, salt, pepper, coffee, ziplock bags, making it convenient to do a little cooking while there. The neighborhood is quiet and convenient to many hikes, as well as Point Reyes Station. Highly recommended.
