The people that run the hostal are so nice, it felt like staying with a family. Tried so many different fruits for the breakfast, and they told the spanish name. It was a national holiday during my stay and the host explained everything to me. As a female solo traveller, I felt they cared and I felt safe staying with them. Location was a short walk to everything in the historic centre. Nice Christmas decorations.
Nothing really, it was a great value for the price. Was a bit cold at night but there was an extra blanket that was a great help.

I enjoyed my stay. The family is very nice and it's very quite. Also good hot water and a nice breakfast.
It's rather cold in the room, but that would be the same anywhere I guess.
Needs a bath mat for the floor after a shower.
It's kind of a long walk to the city center.

The staff is nice, good breakfast, good price, beds are comfortable.
It's a little cold at night, but it's really not a big of a deal.

The breakfast was the best ever!
Everything was OK

The value was great. The staff was friendly and helpful. The building felt secure. I loved having my own private bath for the price. The shared areas are very nice.
I really didn't have any problems there. I just wish there was a bigger local grocery store with more options. There was a big grocery store with enough: Tia. However, I like really big ones with LOTS of options because I'm a pain-in-the-butt finicky eater, haha!

historical building, great location, family atmosphere, private bathroom for this price, freshly prepared breakfast, enough warm blankets.

I spend 4 nights in this amazing place. I took separately room. I was imagined of clear in my room, and rooms for 4-6 persons too. It is accomodation include good lining and blankets, very nice breakfast, with a lot of quality coffee and fresh juces.
I feel myself likr at home, the owner and stuff were so hospitable, builds friendly and warm relations with guests, will always help with gentle advice
I have not critical remarks! I recommend this hostal

Exceptional value, a very kind host, and a great breakfast. The old building is charming and while it wasn’t all that social the travellers I met here were very interesting. Anita speaks good English and can help you plan trips around the city. There are good restaurants close by.
The hot water runs out quickly, and the top floor is open air, so it can get quite cold at night.

Had a great stay at this hostal. The bed was super comfortable, loved the matress. The hosts are so kind and helpful and gave me lots of informations. The location is also pretty good and they have the absolute cutest dog. would definitely come back. Muchas gracias por toda su ajuda!

The building was very nice with big rooms. The location is aproximately 15 minutes away from the centro historico and there is a supermarket nearby. The owners are super friendly and try to explain everything to you. I really liked the coffee.
Muchas gracias, Hasta luego

This family run business went out of their way to be helpful with directions, bus transport and even walked us to a near bus stop. I loved the variety of the breakfast with special attention to having fruits/juices not grown in the US. I would stay here again.

The owners are THE BEST! It is clear how very much they care about the atmosphere and their guests. Communication was easy, quick, and thorough throughout the planning process and put us at great ease travelling in to a new country for the first time. We appreciated the genuine care and concern they gave us, even with our little Spanish- speaking ability, to get to know the city and their culture. We really enjoyed our time together with the sweet women over breakfast together. The fresh breakfast included is a great value and wide variety of local fruits was a wonderful way to begin each day. This hostal has a very pleasant homestay-like feel. Upstairs and downstairs common areas are very cute. The added Christmas decorations made it very festive. Highly recommend this place for something extra special during your time in Quito! Don't hesitate to book your stay now!
There was a lot of construction going on to the upstairs area. Unfortunately, this was during the time I was sick all day in bed from long travelling. This is not a complaint. We understand the immense amount of historic ongoing upkeep necessary. The improvements will only make it better for the comfort of future guests.

The hosts were amazing, very friendly and accommodating. Good breakfast every morning. Lovely dog. Warm shower. Good location in the daytime.
WiFi a bit slow. Room was a bit dirty when I arrived. Area felt a bit unsure at night.

Hostal la Chorrera is outstanding value for money! It’s in a good location with a supermarket and restaurants a matter of steps from the hotel. It is also walking distance from the Basílica del Voto Nacional and historic centre. Having said that the best bit of the hotel is without doubt the staff who will do absolutely anything to make sure you’re that your enjoying your stay. Whenever I pass through Quito in the future, I’ll definitely be returning!

The Staff was amazing. Very helpful and caring. I have never met nicer people, seriously. We felt like we were part of the family, not just guests.
Tasty, local homemade breakfast prepared by Ladies running this place. Everyday fresh fruits and natural juice.
Location is great - just a few steps grom Basilica and old town. Many bus stops nearby.

Really cute bed & breakfast type place. Cozy, super friendly staff, and quiet. The location right in front of a park is great (and you can easily walk downtown). Breakfast was great too. All around recommended!

Good location, there is everything needed and the staff is super welcoming. Hot showers and overall good value for the money.
The bed was super hard and the rooms are partially opened at the top so it hets noisy and a bit cold

The owners are super friendly, they even made me a tea when I was sick. Beds are super comfy and large. It's quiet. Hot showers, good wifi, perfect breakfast, close to centro historico and plaza Foch. I had a nice stay for a very good price :)

The Hostal is beautiful. The coffered ceiling, spiraled wood columns and ornate handrail were stunning. The real charmer here though are the owners. We arrived in Quito ill, exhausted, and really needing to recharge. We had been traveling over 2 months and the day before we arrived my wife and I fell victims to a case of food poisoning. The mother of the home turned out to be an excellent cook and juicer, but also a practicing shaman. Her daughter spoke very good English, ran the home, and made sure everybody got what they needed. We ate breakfast and dinner with them daily. The two of them MADE our stay.. They nursed and nurtured, arranged personalized taxi service, made suggestions, and became dear friends. We extended our stay to be in their presence a little longer. It was a wonderful cultural exchange. We learned a lot.
Bathroom shower head needed some attention. Walls could be touched up. What do you expect from 200 year old home.

We only stayed for 2 nights but it felt like a home from home. The owners let us use their kitchen and even joined in the cooking! :) They have a gorgeous, friendly dog and are happy to share their space with you. Friendly and very helpful :) The hostal has bags of character as the building is way over 100 years old. The bannister rail is very ornate. Great location. Easy to get to from trole bus and/or metro bus. Good value for money.
4.5
Great value for money, the cheapest place in the area. Friendly staff and nice breakfast.
The guest kitchen was only good for making tea and cutting fruit but the staff let us cook in their kitchen if we needed. The room was small but the common area great for spreading out.
4.5
This place is great value for money like nowhere else in Quito! Hot water, warm blankets, lamps in the room, friendly staff and a nutritious breakfast, what more can you ask for?
It would have been better to have a heater in the room. Also the little sky window let too much light in.
4.5
Lovely staff, they waited up for me when I told them I would not arrive until very late. Always had a huge smile and made a great homemade breakfast. Room was small but bed was comfortable enough
The water failed for several hours one morning. The place is clean, but there were several puppies running around making a mess. It is located out of the historic centre and out of La Mariscal. This means it is quiet but there are very few places to eat nearby and it is not safe to walk around at night
