Nice classic Breakfast. People friendly. Good Service
Dinner a bit... simple... clearly gastro food and not much hand made stuff. Although restaurants in neighboring villages offer food for the same price thats very high class. So here it seems a bit too much money for very basic food.

I liked the large room and bathroom. Parking in front of the lake.

A wonderful sleep. Lovely views, fantastic, helpful staff. Loved, loved, loved the huge jacuzzi bath!!
Coffee machine was confusing to use. Sadly the fancy showers door didn't close properly, so we ended up not using it.

Beautiful view across the Loch. Able to open windows fully in room. Able to switch radiator on and off to get right temperature. A lovely room that was clean and bright with double windows. Good bathroom with shower over bath and towel heater. Excellent meal in bar downstairs with drinks. Staff very welcoming. Ideal location to cycle round the loch.
On arrival the room had strong smell of cigarette smoke….don’t know if it came from people smoking outside front door or previous occupant which would not have been permitted.
Bed wasn’t comfortable. Mattress too soft.

Great location right on the bank of Loch Earn
Tired decor

The view from the room was fantastic, the room was adequate! for a 2 night stay and the bed comfortable, the bedroom cleanliness in general was ok, the breakfast was good. The staff were attentive and couldn't do more to be helpful.
The Clachan, in its day, has no doubt been an excellent hotel but in our opinion it has seen better times, the hotel has a run down feel about it, the bedroom had no drawer units, no wardrobe and only an open clothes hanging unit with 5 coat hangers.
The bar dining area was ok although the table tops were very sticky and required more efficient cleaning in between customers. The window cills in the breakfast room were heavily contaminated with dust, cob webs and dead insects!!! The food and drinks prices were pretty dear for what we see as "pub grub"

Honeymooned at Clachan Cottage 53 years ago so knew what to expect. It hasn't changed a lot in all that time.
Because of our connection with the hotel, we are biased, better ask others!

We were disappointed there was no hot breakfast available.

The spa bath was amazing - Please get some picture of it on the booking.com site as it was a specific search item for us. The views across the loch are fabulous! The bar/restaurant was very reasonably priced and had plenty of choice.
Would have liked a cooked breakfast option, not a major issue though

Location. Restaurant.
Small bed.

The location is wonderful. So picturesque. The bar was nice. And the room decor and furniture was nice
We stayed in room 8 and the bed was truly dreadful. Hard and lumpy mattress. The pillows were incredibly flat. We didn't sleep well at all which isn't great as we had a 5+ hour drive the next day.
The sink in the bathroom was clogged up and was very slow to drain. Also smelt a little.
There was never anyone on reception. When we arrived I had to go walking around to find someone for us to check in. When I went past reception later it was unmanned. Same again when we checked out. So we didn't get to speak to anyone to inform of our complaints.
It's a shame as the location is stunning. It was beautiful to walk out on the Loch with the sunrise and low laying mist.

Location was great though view was limited to a small patch of back garden, food was good.
TV in room kept switching itself on. We seemed to be the only guests in the hotel, though someone, assuming a member of staff, seemed to make a lot of noise moving around the hotel.
3.0 / 5.0
Beautiful setting, pleasant bar, comfortable rooms.
Rooms are very tired and basic breakfast provided. Beer bottles from previous guests still in room (next to bedside table).
