About this villa rental
Welcome to Its About Time! This is a four bedroom, three bathroom villa located in the more central part of the beautiful island of Saint John! This 2,500 square foot masonry constructed ridge top home has breathtaking views about 1,000 feet up overlooking Coral Bay and the British Virgin Islands on one of the highest peaks on St John. On the other side you can look down at Maho and Francis beaches and also see the waves of Johnson Reef and St Thomas in the distance. Come enjoy the most beautiful sunrise and sunset on this unique property!
The white sandy beaches and turquoise blue waters are all so near with Maho Bay the closest beach with a less than five minute drive. You will have all you need for your trip to the many beaches including a variety of coolers, sun fly umbrella, beach towels and chairs.
This exceptional villa also features a beautiful, private swimming pool with a million dollar view of Coral Bay and the Caribbean! There is a steady tropical breeze that wraps around you like a warm hug! In your vacation home you will enjoy the perfect design for a romantic couple’s getaway or add friends and additional families to share a fun time together. There is plenty of room for everyone to enjoy time together in the open concept living, dining, and kitchen areas while each bedroom also has individual entrances for privacy. Broadband high speed internet and cable tv are available and there is a large flat yard for outdoor games- which is a rarity on St John.
The two master bedrooms on the main floor are located on each side of the kitchen/living area and each have king size beds with private bathrooms and attached outdoor showers. On the lower floor there are two additional bedrooms containing one king size and one queen size bed. Located in between these bedrooms are: a recreation room highlighting a large screen TV with movies & games, refrigerator, sleeper sofa futon, and a full bathroom and laundry room.
This very private villa is encompassed by extraordinary and magnificent hand laid stone walls created with local rocks from this mountainous terrain. Lush tropical foliage and landscaping add to the ambiance of this incredible property. It is only a 20 minute drive from the ferry. The roads to the villa are all paved and there is plenty of parking space.
All bedrooms have iphone docking stations, ceiling fans, and individual air conditioning units, which are often not needed with the natural refreshing breeze. The lower level is accessible by stairs located outside on both sides of the villa and has a complete wrap around deck that leads to the private pool area. The large pool features an impressive 12 foot high stone wall with inlaid lighting and local art work featuring Caribbean themed images. So everyone mentions the views... and rightfully so. Absolutely STUNNING views. You can see the run rise over Coral Bay right from the house, and you can see the sun set by walking to the sitting area on the other side of the property. It's unbelievable.
The house itself was super clean and very well supplied, from kitchen utensils and tools to extra pillows and blankets. There is plenty of space. We had four adults and four children (ages 15 down to 6). Plenty of space for everyone.
The location is perfect -- remote enough to feel really detached, yet close enough to the beaches and Coral Bay to make any commutes a breeze.
There is a nice yard area that's really convenient for kids to play in, and backing vehicles up to the front door to load/unload makes things really easy.
The owners were super responsive and proactively checked in with us during the stay. They really do care about the property and the experience of those staying there.
When we come back to STJ this place will be on the top of our list to check for availability.

The house sits near a hilltop with beautiful view of the coral bay, fully stacked with supplies enough for a big group. The owner also carefully stack supplies in all the bathrooms including soap and toilet paper; kitchen has many extra supplies like dish soap and garbage bags. The two stories are set up in a way that two families can sleep totally separately without an inside stairs access; It’s perfect for us since the kids own the downstairs next to swimming pool.
The living room has no AC but there is enough sea breeze to cool the room off with sliding doors open.
We had some trouble locking the doors properly but since we are on vacation, we sort of used the chance to laugh at each other.‘a clumsiness.
The host is very responsive to requests and questions.
Coral bay is a really nice a quiet area to stay. The house feels like top of the heaven.
Be sure to try The Windmill Bar. It’s a must see!

As others have said, the views from this villa are amazing. Not only can you watch the sunrise over Coral Bay in the morning, but this property also provides the bonus of being able to watch the sunset while gazing over the North Shore in the evening. The villa itself is just as described and had everything our group of 7 adults needed. To top it off, Diana and Mike were great hosts and were there to answer any questions we had.

I can't say enough good things about this house - terrific views, great layout, well-stocked kitchen, beautiful pool... the list goes on. We stayed here with our own family (two kids, 5 and 7) and my friend's family (also two kids, 2 and 4). The two floor layout worked perfectly for us. This was our second time to St. John and I was a little hesitant about staying 'so far' from Cruz Bay, but the location was excellent - it's literally 5 minutes to Maho/Francis beaches and the same distance to relatively well stocked grocery stores in Coral Bay. Cruz Bay is nice, but staying on this side of the island felt truly relaxing. Because the house is on the top of one of the larger hills on the island, it's always quite breezy, but the benefits are 1)very few bugs, and 2) more reasonable temperatures during the heat of the day.

Everything was great. The house is spotless and beautiful and well-equipped. Amazing views from every window. Great location away from the chaos of Cruz bay but close enough to Coral bay for grabbing a quick bite. Owners are helpful and easy to communicate with.

Stayed here with a total of 8 adults (4 couples). The place was great, the location was awesome, and the views were spectacular! The owners were also the rental property managers and they showed they really care about the renters’ experience. Having a paved driveway made the hillside journey much easier than we’ve found with some other St. J villas. Parking 2 vehicles on a bumpy knoll wasn’t convenient but that’s nitpicking. We highly recommend!

A perfect stay for groups looking for a casual stay with space to be together-- or apart!
Everything we needed was there (or easily brought in by Island Baby) for cooking, for beaching, for lounging, for reading... and you can't beat the location-- so close to North Shore beaches as well as Coral Bay restaurants and beaches. We've stayed in Cruz Bay in the past and I really enjoyed this change of scenery. And or course.. THE VIEWS. The owner and the property managers were so helpful and lovely.

Don't know if I will every have a better view!
"IT'S ABOUT TIME" WAS ALL WE HOPED FOR AND MORE! Check in/out was piece of cake. Location location location. Views from all sides of the house are beyond description. Within minutes of the best beaches on the island. Plus who doesn't want donkeys in their front yard with a rainbow behind them when you wake up! Made memories with the family we will never forget. I do recommend a SUV since the driveway is very.steep.

I've never reviewed on VRBO, but this one deserves it
Over the years we've stayed at a dozen or more properties across St John and at a range of price points. This trip included my wife and I, son and his wife and their two daughters ages 5 & 9 and "It's About Time" was perfect. The great-room/kitchen area was perfect when everyone wanted to hang out together but also so easy to break off into smaller groups or find a quite place for a nap. Not to mention the pool, which was actually warm, which is not always the case down here. The location, on Ajax Peak, gives stunning views to the south of Coral Bay and to the north of Maho, Francis and beyond. The location is, in my opinion, about the best on the island, a short 10 minute (or less) drive to Francis, Maho, Coral Bay, Centerline gas station and groceries. Also, everything we wanted or needed was there in the house for us kitchen equipment, beach stuff, washer & dryer, etc.) Management was very responsive and easy. Too large for just my wife and me alone, but with kids and grandkids I'm not too sure where could be better. Would be great for several couples, too.

It's About a Lovely Time of Snorkeling
What a beautiful, well-located home near snorkeling and beaches! Mike and Diana were such wonderful hosts -- you won't be disappointed. Our four couples thoroughly enjoyed the home to the point where some members preferred to stay in the home rather than visit the island. We snorkeled Francis Bay, Trunk Bay, etc. and took a boat ride with Ryan Matthews' company On the Sea Charters. Great boat trip out of Cruz Bay with 4 snorkeling stops and lunch at the Lime Out. The Lime Inn experience on Saturday night was unbelievable!
We hope to return to It's About Time in the future. Thank you so much!

Fantastic week in a property that surpassed our expectations
My family just spent a week at Dianne and Mike's property and loved every second of it. The home is really well equipped and extremely comfortable. We were able to cook at home, the kids watched DVDs from the extensive video library and we slept as well as we sleep in our own home.
Dianne and Mike are incredible hosts - ensuring that we had everything we needed, and even sending us necessary information regarding USVI health protocols. They also had helpful advice on things to do around the island, and pointed us in the right direction for the best restaurant options.
The home's location is really quite perfect. It is just minutes away from Maho beach or the Annaberg Sugar Plantation ruins. We loved the smoothie hut nearby, and the home's close proximity to hiking trails.
The home itself is extremely clean and well-cared for. It is obvious that Dianne and Mike take a lot of pride in their home, and in providing a great experience for their guests.
And you will never get sick of the views!
We highly, highly recommend the rental!

Family vacation
A fantastic place to stay! From booking to check out Diana and Mike where very responsive to any questions. Check in was fantastic and easy. Sunrise from this property is 15 out of 10! Plenty of room for a family of 8! Would definitely stay here again!

Really wonderful!
I have so many good things to say about this villa, and the owners, Diane and Mike. My friends and I (a bunch of older women) have rented a number of other nice villas on St. John, but "It's About Time" is my new favorite! The kitchen is exceptionally well stocked with tools, pots and bans, baking dishes, a collections of spices, serving platters and storage containers. If you like to cook, this is the kitchen for you. There is a very large gas grill just outside the kitchen, which is very convenient.
Although the house is high up on Ajax Peak, the driveway was not scarey (often the case in St John). It is only about 10 minutes down to Coral Bay. or 5 minutes the other direction to Maho Bay - a great location.
The house is cool and breezy - we never needed the AC at all. The decor in the house is even better than itr looks on line - lots of very pretty touches. Best of all though is the amazing view of Coral Bay and the BVI. Sunrise is just stunning - well worth getting up for every day. I rate the views a 10 out of 10. I would rate the customer service provided by Mike and Diane a 15 out of 10! When small problems arose, they were extremely responsive - we could not have asked for more. I highly recommend this property!

Peaceful, Private Home with Stunning Views
The location of this private and peaceful property was perfect for our family. Sitting high on a mountain we watched every stunning sunrise over Coral Bay and from the other side of the yard every sunset looking toward St. Thomas. Beautiful Maho Bay was a quick 5 minute drive away, and Coral Bay was about 8 minutes.
The house was our cozy home away from home. Tastefully decorated with attention to detail we enjoyed evenings cooking together in the well stocked kitchen, eating together around the dining table, and playing games. After a morning snorkeling at one of the many beautiful beaches, we looked forward to showering in the stone-enclosed outdoor shower.
The owners were extremely welcoming and responsive. They personally greeted us and gave us a tour of the house and property upon our arrival.
Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us. We would love to visit again sometime in the future!

Beautiful house with great views
We have stayed in this house before and enjoyed coming back here so much. It is wonderful to wake up to the sunrise over coral bay and then to have just a short drive over to Maho.
Some of our favorites of the house are the outdoor showers (there is also an indoor shower), the pool and the house is quite well stocked (kitchen, games, puzzles, beach equipment). Also, the owners are fabulous - so kind and accommodating.
We look forward to staying here again!

Incredible view
Our stay was amazing. The views are absolutely stunning. Everything you could want or need was included in the house - from Sun Tents and Pack n Plays to every kitchen accessory you could need. The house was spacious enough for our 4 adults and our 4 children.....lots to do even on our one rainy day. The check in process was seamless and easy to do. The owners have thought of everything! We loved our vacation at St. John and our house rental!

Best View on the Island
If you can find a better view on Saint John, I’d like to see it. Beautiful mountain top views of Coral Bay from most bedrooms and the deck. And Maho Bay views from the front yard. Everything about the house was as advertised. You can’t go wrong with this listing! It was perfect.

Perfect Family Vacation Villa
It’s About Time was perfect for our family of 8. What a fabulous place to celebrate my husband’s 70th birthday (a year late)! We loved all the common space as well as the very separate bedroom suites. The rooms downstairs were absolutely perfect for our daughter, son-in-law and 2 grandchildren. The pool was a delight for all, particularly the kids! It’s About Time is also situated ideally between Cruz Bay and Coral Bay with easy access to all the beaches. I can’t say enough about it’s comfort beauty and location….OMG…the views!!! Also Nick was wonderfully helpful when needed. Thank you for helping create amazing family memories. It was worth the wait! Piece of Heaven!
It's About Time was absolutely perfect for our family of 6! It was immaculately kept and exceptionally clean. We grilled/cooked two meals at home each day and had everything we could have possibly needed. After beach hopping and hiking each day it was so nice to come back and take a dip in the pool and relax in one of the many floats provided. The view was amazing from almost every window and it was so nice to have a yard and some space. This was the first time we stayed on this side of the island and would absolutely return. The constant breeze was awesome and only a 5 minute drive to Maho Bay-you just can't beat that! The check-in and check-out was smooth and the owners and property managers very super at communication. They let us know what we needed for our trip, took us to the property and gave a little tour, provided lists of places to eat and answered any questions we had. We would highly recommend this property-it is a Piece of Heaven=)

We loved everything about It's About Time. Diana and Mike were excellent hosts and the house had everything that we needed for a memorable and relaxed stay. Katja from Driftwood was also helpful when meeting us at the house at the beginning of our stay.

Just perfect
Its about Time was a perfect place for our group of 6.
Highly recommend this home which is so well taken care of by the owners Mike and Diana. They met us in Cruz Bay to lead us to the house and show us the lay of the land. Gave us lots of tips and suggestions that were really helpful.
We’ve never been to St. John and in preparing for the trip - I researched many homes. You never really know what you’re going to end up with. The surroundings of the home, the cleanliness, the location.
The surroundings were beautiful. Very private with breathtaking views out the front of the house, as well as the back. Amazing sunrises and sunsets!
The house was uber clean and incredibly well stocked with everything we needed and more.
Even things like binoculars, spices for cooking the catch of the day and detergent in the laundry room.
Easy access to the beaches and places to get a quick bite to eat. We frequented Skinny Legs 3 times for their manburgers, yummy and affordable drinks! A little smoothie place right at the bottom of the driveway with great breakfast/lunch options too.
We all will cherish our week there and the natural beauty that is St John!

Fantastic stay at It's About Time!
Just returned from a week in St John with our group of 8 friends. The house was amazing and just as described. The views were incredible! You can see all of Coral Bay and the BVIs. The house was so clean and well stocked - Diana was fantastic with tips on getting groceries delivered and other info. We spend 3 days at the beach and hit the pool at the house when we returned each time. It was great to have the pool for late afternoon relaxing. There is plenty of space in the house for a large group - lots of closet space, comfortable beds, beach chairs, plenty of towels....we can't say enough about it! After a day getting used to driving the St John roads, we found it pretty easy to access all of the Coral Bay area from the house. Trunk Bay and Maho are a short ride, and we really liked Salt Pond. I also recommend Salt Deck if you want a fund boat ride and a stop at LimeOut for tacos on the water! Thanks for such a great week...only issue was that we actually had to leave :(

Perfect location!
The owners, Michael and Diana, were friendly, responsive and available from reservation through check out. The villa is well situated atop Ajax Peak with spectacular views, breezes, and accessibility to both East End beaches as well as the North Shore and hiking trails. Our group of kids and grandkids enjoyed all of the different spaces inside and out when we weren’t at the beach!

The house was great, spacious lots of wild life and views. House managers are very prompt and attentive with and questions or requests and very knowledgeable of the island. Our party of 8 would absolutely recommend this home to was anyone considering a trip to St John.

Fantastic property overlooking Coral Bay and Maho
We had an absolutely amazing stay at this property. The owners could not have been more welcoming and accommodating and have thought of every detail. The house is very well stocked, plenty of beach/pool towels, coolers, beach chairs, rafts etc. The kitchen was awesome and had everything you could ever need. We loved spending the afternoon in the pool after hitting the beach in the morning. Not many places where you can watch the sunrise off the back deck and the sunset from the front of the house. We will definitely stay here again!

Amazing!
This villa was described exactly as is. The location was great! They had everything we needed and more! The greeter was on time and very responsive to our needs and the owner’s sister lives next door and up the hill. My kids loved having their own rooms downstairs. I was worried at first with them being down there alone but after the first night it was totally fine! Definitely a great place and we’ll be back!

This property was just incredible!
We loved everything about the house, especially the incredible scenery and views. Diana made the whole process so easy with great suggestions and super helpful advice pertaining to our travels.
The house itself is perfect! Well laid out and thoughtful in its design. The kitchen was well stocked with equipment for our meals. The laundry room has everything vacationers need to keep up with towels and clothes.
Great under bed storage to keep clutter from piling up. Outdoor showers are just amazing!
The pool and deck area were awesome for a relaxing afternoon swim.
I can’t say enough good things about this amazing property and owners. If you’re going to be on St. John with a group or family, this is a great spot.

Beautiful, peaceful home away from home. Wonderfully friendly, helpful hosts!
We would definitely stay at this beautiful home again! They have spectacular views to both sides of the island! The home had everything that made our vacation very comfortable. Coolers, chairs and umbrellas to use at the beach, blow up toys for the pool, blender for smoothies and drinks. It was in a perfect location to get to all the beautiful beaches, within walking distance to Columbos smoothies, and tucked away enough to be peaceful.
Diana and her husband came to meet us at the car ferry to show us the way there . They showed us through the house and made sure we knew where everything was that we would need and how it worked. They were delightful to talk with. They were always available and willing to answer questions and give helpful tips about the island. We really enjoyed their beautiful home and the island of St. John!

Absolutely great!
We recently stayed at this house for about 2 weeks and recommend
it very highly; we would give more than 5 stars if that were
possible. We will certainly stay there next year. The owners
are so nice, much more so than other houses in which we have
stayed. I developed an ear infection while there and texted
Diane to ask where to go to see a doctor; she responded less
than an hour later and had made the only appointment left that
day for me at the only private practice on St John.
Everything is just as in the pictures. The view is spectacular.
It is more comfortable than any other house in which we have
stayed on St John in terms of everything: furnishings, kitchen,
bedrooms, and so on. The layout of the bedrooms was exactly
what we needed: two masters with bathrooms for ourselves and son
with fiance; and on the lower floor, two bedrooms and a room for
a futon and bathroom between them, all directly conected, for
our daughter,son-in-law, and their two kids.
The location is perfect for us- 10 minutes to Coral Bay
and 10 min's to Francis and Maho beaches.
