Remote, gorgeous area. Bathtub with a view. Comfortable, relaxing shared areas. Quiet and smoothing ambient. Did finally offer a complementary fizz (but only after we had already spoken to reception 2 hrs prior)
Not really dog friendly. Only allowed in rooms (suggested locked in a crate) or your car. Whomever loves animals would never treat their pets like that. Rusty and chipped sink, mould in corners of the bathroom, filthy bathroom window. Furniture is an extreme need of replacement (table tilts, drawers don't open, etc). SPA was closed. At the table you need to chase waiters for salt, sugar or other things one might need and they get your order wrong. The 'luxury room' was smaller than the cosy double and , compare to the same, I had 2 mattresses side by side, not a full bed - very uncomfortable ("luxury room"...). Never going back for that price, definitely not worth it.

The food was great - a little limited at times but quality was excellent. The room had a lovely view but was not as nice as the room we ad when we stayed previously (upper level room of extension to main building)
The staff were lovely but perhaps needed some more training. They didn’t always serve correctly and we found ourselves without bread or were left waiting to give our order.
Loved the real fires and chats with other guests on an evening
Would have preferred more choice for dinner menu. We found that we only had one we could really choose from on the list. That said, the food that we did have was lovely.
Our room before had been nicer and might have spoilt us.

Our suite (but didn't like ground floor)
We had a ground floor suite which had stunning views from the front but no privacy. The bathroom had clear glass windows and people from the car park could view straight in. The hotel was very strict about when you could dine and offered very little flexibility. Apart from Merlin the staff were immature and unprofessional. The food was mediocre and it was extremely expensive. Wine decantered so you had no real idea whether you were drinking the correct wine...

From the moment we arrived we were made to feel so special. The staff are amazing and helpful.
The lounges with the fires just took you back in time to a more peaceful era.
This was a little bit of heaven in an already beautiful Island
There was nothing not to like

The staff are incredible, kind, and thoughtful - truly, they made our stay feel as if we were with friends and family. Also, it must be noted that the food is seriously good - competes with the best restaurants I’ve ever eaten at, and the menu changes daily, offering outstanding variety. The location is perfect - jaw dropping and beautiful views at sunrise and sunset, and also quite convenient. The rooms are cozy and comfortable, and ooze old world charm, while still offering modern amenities like heated floors and a heated towel rack in a modern bathroom. Thank you to everyone who made our elopement and honeymoon such a wonderful time. It truly felt like a fairytale.

beautiful location, everything about the hotel was good. Food on the first night was a bit below par which we put down to it being their first night after reopening. Sauces were a bit gloopy and heavy. Second evening was much better and at the level we expected. Perhaps not quite as good as a few years ago when Tully was head chef but still very enjoyable.

Beautiful location set overlooking the water. The lodge was exactly that, a nod to it's past which evoked an idea of it's history. Cosy, comfy with outstanding food. Staff were exceptional and we were made to feel relaxed and 'at home'. We will be visiting again soon, perhaps in the summer months to experience a different feel to the lodge and the island.
Nothing not to like to be honest. Kinloch is perhaps on the pricier side compared to other hotels on Skye but you get an experience and stay which we think justifies it.

Firstly I loved the setting, on the waters edge in the south of Skye.
The staff, every single member was nothing short of exceptional. Friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. I had an issue with a noise, it was dealt with in minutes, zero fuss or messing around.
The food, dinner was fantastic.
The room was enormous, with it’s own sitting room which had a fridge.
It feels like nitpicking because I absolutely loved my stay and would go back in a heart beat but the walls seemed rather thin. I could hear the chap next door coughing and hear him walking about his room. It didn’t affect my sleep though.

Our stay here was wonderful it really felt like a wonderful home from home. The food was delicious and Isabella and her staff were simply charming.
The midges! But even they couldn’t spoil the wonderful location.
