Location was handy for the village. I noticed the friendly staff. I liked the quality of food in breakfast.
During checkin, staff only told us the cost of a cooked breakfast ( as ‘the cost of breakfast’), so we thought that was the only option available. There was apparently an option for continental breakfast which we would have taken. The cooked breakfast was very nice, but it would have been useful to have a choice which breakfast we wanted – cooked or Continental.

Excellent breakfast lovely room and staff
I’m afraid the lasagna wasn’t great but all the other good was wonderful and every other aspect

The location was ideal and the room itself was clean and tidy. Plenty of options for breakfast and the Red Lion provided the ideal venue for our overnight stay. The staff were friendly and attentive to our requirements.
Everything met our requirements

good position for visiting Oxford and Banbury. enjoyed the quirkiness of the building.
some decoration is required throughout the building. the narrow spiral staircase would not suit everyone

The staff did very well even though there were only 2 or 3 of them on duty.It made for a very relaxed atmosphere with no rush to eat your food in the very pleasant surroundings
Could you please fit a couple of coat hooks in the room which is a particular gripe of mine!!!

Nice breakfast with a good choice, staff were friendly and room was clean and nice.
The mattress was very hard and it was an uncomfortable night.

Loved the quirkiness but also how modern the rooms are! The bed was super comfortable and the shower had fab water pressure!
We were told on arrival that if we wanted an evening meal we would have to have this before 7pm due to a party. If we were notified of this before hand we could have booked somewhere else for food.

Everything form the staff, to the room to the food and service.
Nothing. We will definitely be back.

The staff were lovely and the room clean and cosy
the breakfast was pretty average but also not expensive to be fair

The breakfast was okay. Sausage burnt on the first day, but apart from that it was fine. Anything we asked for we got. The location of the establishment is fine, set back from the main road in front with parking at the rear.
There was a lack of storage in the bedroom. Only a small curtained off space and three drawers, in a small chest of drawers. The toilet area backed on to a rear seating area for the pub, making it difficult to use the toilet if people were outside. On one day, they cleaned the room and left the door to the room open, which was not good.

Breakfast lovely. Bit out of the way for me for the Cropredy music festival but if you have a car it would be fine and quieter
All good

The Wi-Fi was a bit hit and miss

very local near relatives. Has lots of character and staff very friendly
the price was very high for a standard room which didn’t include breakfast
The dining room was tastefully decorated with some lovely art work but I sat down in a very large cobweb and there was a lot of cobwebs over the pictures .Being in room 1 it was very noisy early in the morning when people were leaving from upstairs

Location on outskirts of Banbury. Friendly staff and characterful building.
Circular staircases which were not easy to negotiate with bags.
