Our time here was nothing short of a dream. The warmth of the staff—especially the luminous Miss Teisha—was a gift, guiding us to the soul of this city with care and charm. The rooms whispered stories of enchantment, and the courtyard felt like stepping into another realm. The location? Perfection itself. Just a breath away from Louis Armstrong Park, where we had the serendipitous fortune to arrive during the vibrant pulse of the Jamaican Festival. It was so close to the incredible Tremé festival thay we nearly wandered into its rhythm by accident.
This place resides at the very heart of New Orleans—where art dances in the streets, music breathes through the air, and the food, oh, the food! Each bite was a verse, rich and poetic (thank you, Teisha, for your divine recommendations). We are already counting the days until we return to this magical sanctuary.

I thought it was wonderful:) staff was great, very LGBTQ friendly, the place has tons of character for an almost 200 yr old bldg! We will definitely book again, it was cheap, clean and practical.
Also possibly haunted so there's that lol :)

The location was perfect and the staff was very kind and helpful. We stayed outside the patio and it was just a little dirty. We ended up cleaning the bathroom our self to feel more comfortable as well as sweep the floor in the bed area. The inside of the other rooms seem to be much more clean.

The first room was on the end of the hallway & very small. The guy at the front desk was very helpful & offered us the bigger room next door. The worse part of our stay was both rooms had roaches. We didn’t ask for a refund, just decided to hatch it out due to we only stayed 2 nights.

Definitely needs some major upgrades and a good all over cleaning! Did not look like the pictures at all!!

We loved this hotel! There were four of us in a room with 2 double beds, it was a little small but we loved that. We loved everything about this hotel! Loved the fact that there was locked gated parking. And we could walk 2 blocks to bourbon street. It was a perfect stay! The staff was super friendly and so sweet! We will definitely be back!

Very disappointed in my experience with this hotel. I booked our 1 night stay a year in advance because I knew it was a busy weekend that would sell out. I have never had an issue using this app. We traveled 1500 miles by car to stay in this city. Our other 2 hotels booked this same weekend were flawless. When it came to our last finale night in New Orleans I called the hotel 3 hours prior to Check in to ask if our room would be available for an early check in. I had 2 emails stating our reservation was booked and ready for our arrival. When I called the receptionist stated there was no reservation. It was confirmed by the app that my reservation was valid. The hotel tried to blame Hotels.com for canceling my reservation but never contacting me. They then sent me to their sister hotel which uncharged by $600 just because the whole city was sold out. The hotel staff were very kind. But the hotel was extremely outdated and lacking any amenities. There were no towels, dirty fridge and dust all over the fans and picture frames. The Guest house hasn’t responded to any of my calls or emails. I will be proceeding to further my case and get a reimbursement of the $600 up charge. I was told by numerous people this happened more then once during this weekend. I can’t help but feel I was scammed. I hope they do better at accommodating their future guests or they’re going to lose major reviews and business.

The towels were raggedy and needed to be replaced. It wasn't quiet, with people loudly talking and walking throughout the day and night, interrupting sleep. The quality of the place has gone downhill since 2018. The last time I stayed.

The staff was excellent! The room was a little small but it had character.

Upon arrival, the staff was overly friendly which we initially took as a good sign. However, what we realized was that they were overcompensating for the extremely poor quality and condition of our room, which was filthy including hair in the bathroom, mold on framed prints, electrical outlets hanging loose from the wall, and a smoke detector with no batteries that hung loose as well. We couldn't walk barefoot because of the dirt on the floor (including black clumps of chewing gum embedded in the bathroom tile and cobblestone flooring in the bedroom). The hotel's front clerk failed to provide us with the proper code to the front door and side gate to the courtyard. After spending the day in the French Quarter, we returned around 5 pm to find that no staff was on site - and the 4-digit code we had been given was for the lock on the parking lot. We tried ringing a doorbell that was supposed to alert the front desk but didn't bring any help. Finally, we banged on the hotel's front door and another guest heard us and let us in. After returning to our room to find that the additional towels we requested earlier had not been left (as we were told they would be -- because we only had one small bath towel), we noticed other disgusting details (a burn hole in the bed comforter, missing light bulb, holes in walls). We didn't even feel comfortable sitting on the bed. Because we live only two hours away from New Orleans, we opted to leave the hotel that night and didn't return to stay.

Booked this hotel for a last minute trip and Paris literally made our entire trip. He was amazing & accommodating. It’s a super cute spot to stay & really clean, the cute courtyard was a plus & the hotel parking was secure & safe. Love love love.

Very nice place overall, retro style, very cute. A few touches here and there would make it even better. Secure gated parking reasonable priced.

This was my second stay and thoroughly enjoyed myself both times. Staff were all very pleasant and friendly. You can’t beat the location and the price along with their accommodating professionalism. My go-to for Red Dress Run!

This was incredible stay primarily due to the front desk staff, she made recommendations on where to eat, what to see and how to get there.

Dust mites, caked-on dirt on baseboards, rusty tub handles & fixtures . Front deak associates were friendly iver the phone, but tge place needs a Deep cleaning. I prayed over my surroundings and went to bed. My daughter was very uncomfortable.

The New Orleans Guest House is the perfect
home away from home! From the kindness of the helpful staff, to the perfect location and to the beautiful vintage New Orlemas decor inside of each room and the hallways.
The hotel has a beautiful courtyard in the center with a beautiful vibe but the perfect amount of privacy. They also have parking onsite as well although we primarily walked during our 5 day stay here. There is a trolley line not even 2 blocks away so that was also convenient.
Special Shoutout to Teisha AND Paris, they both helped us before we arrived until the day we left. From local food recommendations, to helping us when our booking had messed up and we were even able to stay in the best room with a balcony!! This place will definitely be our go to stay in New Orleans from now on and you should give them a try as well. You will love it here!
Lastly, I love history and culture so knowing this is housed in the oldest African American neighborhood in not just New Orleans but the United States was the cherry on top.

I’ve been staying at the Guest House when I visit Nola since 2013. I feel very comfortable staying here. I love that the parking is secured. It’s walking distance from my favorite spots. The staff has always been friendly. And I love the cats that visit in the courtyard as they also give the place character. Thank you for another excellent visit. I’ll see you guys next time!

I’ve stayed here twice and the staff is extremely friendly. It’s about a 5 min walk from bourbon street. I didn’t feel unsafe walking to and from and I didn’t walk back to the hotel until around 2am. The staff is very helpful.

Historic New Orleans home turned into a boutique hotel with 18 rooms. Excellent staff on site around the clock and only a 2 block walk from Bar Tonique at the edge of the French Quarter. Great location for a short walk to either Bourbon or Frenchmen :)
