Cozy, well maintained hotel 5 mins walk from Happo terminal. Very clean, with onsen which is great after a day of skiing! Guests who stayed there were all very respectful and more family oriented. Fantastic breakfast, and a wonderful team of staff that made us feel right at home. They even gave us a gift box at the end of the stay, so lovely!! Highly recommend!!

Very well managed by the host Tomo San and his wife. We were made to feel very welcomed to their hotel. The internal decor is very comfortable with great taste. Their 2 female staff were very young and served us with graceful manner and sincerity. Will definitely recommend this hotel to my friends and come back when revisit Hakuba.

Perfect location, 2 mintues walk to the Happo Bus terminal (transportation hub in Habuka village). Clean rooms, great onsen bath and awesome breakfast. Look no further if you want to visit Habuka Village.

Hakuba Hifumi is an amazing experience beyond a hotel. Modernized for the 1998 games, the ryokan has been family owned/run since 1912, and it shows at every turn. Tomo San and his team do everything possible to make you feel welcome and comfortable. We are already looking forward to our return.
Long before we arrived, Hifumi patiently replied to emails about luggage delivery, the area, and Japan at large.
Check-in / reception was friendly and unhurried, and included a tour of the hotel on the way to our room. We enjoyed the Kaiseki meal in the dining room on our first night, which was a delicious introduction to the hotel and team.
We took a traditional Japanese room (futons on tatami) without our own onsen, but were able to book the private baths without any issue. Frankly, I was only ever alone in the public baths too. We used these far more than our own bathroom.
Daily breakfast is thoughtfully served and filling for your day on the hill.
Located on a quiet side street, we were able to walk to/from the Happo-One lifts daily, from the bus station (if roads are clear), and around the area as far as the train station (without luggage). If you’ve got gear or it’s snowy, the staff will happily give you a lift.
As frequent travellers, we enjoy Platinum status with several hotel chains. They should all take a page out of Hifumi’s book.
Pro tip … There’s a biru machine tucked away behind the back stairs.

I had an amazing stay at Hifumi. The manager and the staff were very friendly. The hotel picked us up from Happo bus terminal even though the walk is a less than 5 mins walk. The hotel is in a very good location, 5 mins to Happo bus terminal, many popular ski rental shops, restaurants and the free Happo shuttle to the ski slopes. The staff were also very helpful in giving us advice on were to rent skis and also sold us the ski pass. The breakfast at the hotel was very good. The hotel also has an onsen which was very clean and relaxing. The hotel also provides yukatas for us to wear which adds to the whole ryokan experience. Will stay there again if we ever visit Hakuba.

This was very uniquely Japanese, our onsen in our room was great! We also enjoyed booking the private onsen.
Everyone was friendly and welcoming; however, the English skills of the staff at times made it difficult to access all of the benefits of this beautiful place!
Thank you Hakuba Hifumi

All the staff are very friendly and helpful. We really felt being pampered by them upon our arrival until departure. Daily breakfast was great and we had dinner on the last evening and it was simply amazing. Our room didn’t have the private onsen but we love that we can book the private onsen for an hour each day, and it was such a nice treat after skiing! We would definitely book and stay there again whenever we visit Hakuba.

Hifumi was an incredible hotel. Accomodations were perfect, staff are extremely nice, food was amazing and location was ideal with quick access to big Happo One and easy access to the shuttles to the other mountains.
Great spot for a relaxing getaway to Hakuba and an ideal spot for mixing boarding and skiing during the day with great accomodations.
We’ll be back.
