Exceptional staff!!! Closeness to the beach!

Gym had equipment in several stages of disrepair. Some did not work at all! Food prices and the inability to change some of the sides.

Loved the location mins from the airport, the Hotel was a resort, beautiful pool beach and hot tub and exceptional in quality and luxury. Food proportions were Huge, but they offer a mini fridge and the to go option with reheating in the cafe if needed next day so no wastage. Pet friendly resort as well.

Our Room Toilet was full of used toilet paper on entering our room after we checked in. Lights in room difficult to locate in main bedroom area. Room was too cold, AC kept defaulting to 68F regardless of setting to 72F

Our stay at the Royal Sonesta was amazing. I love the umbrella service at the beach and the food at the beach restaurant was delicious. Will definitely be returning here!!

The breakfast service was very very slow. And I'm very patient with realistic expectations and it was still way too slow.

The room was very nice, we loved the wrist band feature so we didn't have to carry any cash or a key with us. The beach area was very nice, great being able to have chairs and umbrellas set up for you. We did not use the pool.

The staff was friendly but certainly not overwhelmingly helpful. At check in, nothing was shared about the dining options, the beach process, pool hours, gym information - really nothing but given our key. For as much as we paid each night for our stay, I felt there should have been a few water bottles included in our room, a little more attention to the customer in terms of making us feel like they cared we were there at check in. When I went to ask the "tours" staff member a question, she was borderline rude and not at all helpful. The beach and beach restaurant staff were great as were the bellman out front helping us with taxis, directions, suggestions etc. I would have also thought there would have been more activities on site such as outdoors games (corn hole, chess, jenga etc.), and other resorts nearby had sunscreen available by the pool and beach which also would been a nice feature.

Private bookings should be made in private areas. Not areas that all guests have access to. Private bookings should not be at the detriment of other guests

All the food extras were at least 30% too expensive in my opinion given the high overall cost of the hotel.

We liked the view from the balcony, although it was very small. We liked ocean breeze restaurant. The chicken fingers and pizza was very good. We loved the beach and its location.

We left the property each evening for dinner and to have entertainment. The pool closed very early at 9pm. There wasn’t much dinner or food options. If you are looking for any entertainment at all, this isn’t the place. The music can barely be heard on the speaker. Also, some of the property needs some updating.

View from room was amazing, the staff was excellent

Musty damp rooms, both my friends moved their rooms multiple times due to dampness. I wanted to keep my view so I didn’t move. AC was subpar, my clothes stayed damp. Hotel ran dehumidifiers in hallway, didn’t help.

Their lobby/pool music is awful. My husband and I stayed at the Sonesta hotel for five days. We are both educated professionals, natives of Puerto Rico living in the United States. We were looking for a stay that would take us away from our daily work. The hotel pool area is beautiful but the music at the pool was the equivalent of the music you hear at your dentist office or at an elevator. Too relaxing. It never reminded me that I was on vacation or on a beautiful tropical island.  I could see it on the other guests faces too,they were bored. In fact the choice of music they use at the pool and throughout the hotel reminded me of work instead of relaxing me and helping me forget work. They are in a Caribbean island with plenty of music to choose from but for whatever weird reason they choose the easy listening style. When I asked one of the managers, he told me that the music decision comes from way above himself and that they cannot change it. Also in the outside lobby on Thursdays and Friday they had live music but one day it was a duo singing 90s American songs and the other day Calypso.  We are adults & we were not looking for a nightclub setting at the pool or lobby, but for the amount of money you are paying per night we were expecting a more tropical/happier setting. A place that I would not want to leave because I enjoyed the music and the ambient so much.  In fact we barely had drinks at the bar because of the music. Overall I don’t think we’ll ever stay there again.

The staff was very nice and welcoming. They were professional and had great suggestions for where to go and how to get around. The pool area is amazing! So very nice!

The television signal was bad and there were limited channels. The hotel overall is aging. Our housekeeper was kinda lazy. She made up one bed and splashed some bleach around in the shower. The lighting in the bathroom was dim. The air conditioning was hard to control. We spent a good portion of the night trying to get the temperature right.

Very nice and clean! Very user friendly, everything was easily accessible, available! Staff and all workers were very nice!

Location

Very dead, on Saturday night the swim up bar closed at 6pm. There is no music on the facility. Very dead, no adult entertainment for 4 days $2500 I will never return.
