The meals served were tasty and delicious. The outdoor onsen was very enjoyable. The hotel is very cosy and one could unwind and relax. Hotel is located a bit inland, so it is best to drive there. The room phone is a throwback to the 80s.

Loved its location in the woods, away from the town and yet an easy drive into town. It is an old place and it can be quite cold in winter but the gas and kerosene heaters make the stay comfy enough. For me this place is the real traditional Japan and I love it. Our room was a simple tatami room and it was a bit small for our family but it was fine for two nights. We enjoyed the private outdoor bath, the water temperature was perfect and it was so nice to soak in the hot water on such cold days. We had breakfast at the hotel and dinner once and food was excellent quality. Overall I really enjoyed the stay there!

Not much really. I wish the old style room we stayed in was a bit modernized but it’s also part of the charm of the place. It’s a pity the public bath doesn’t have an outdoor Onsen as well as an indoor one.

Every traveler is different... Different purpose. Kose Onsen is away from the hustle and bustle of busy tourist area. I love the private open air bath,even the indoor bath is also breathtakingly beautiful. This place is a secret paradise that I would love to come home to once in a while.

I didn’t enjoy the breakfast as much but it’s good enough to have some warm soup to get thru the day.
