Located on a steep hill you are surrounded by incredible views. We stayed in the annex with private entry etc - it was beautiful - perfect for our anniversary. Pub located just few minutes away and that made for a beautiful evening meal.

Steep road - but typical of area

Great location and the hosts were great and were very accommodating. Breakfast was freshly cooked to order and tasted great.

Shibden hall view is spotless clean and the owners very welcoming and it does have views of Shibden hall. Pre order breakfast the night before and the breakfast was really nice and value for money. You can walk to Shibhen hall and that is definitely worth a visit. You can get the bus into Halifax but we choose to get a taxi which is about the same price. Definitely would stay again.

It wasn't something I didn't like, but apparently they used to have honesty bar, I think they should try again with it, but understand some people aren't very honest.

This is a beautiful property built in the 1700s, a lot of the old features have been kept. Our room no 3 was absolutely delightful 4 poster bed most comfortable, lovely clean linen and the most fluffiest of towels. Fresh milk and water supplied plenty of coffee and tea, the added touch of fresh flowers was a really nice touch. Breakfast was delicious very high quality food. Adele and Phil were most pleasant of hosts and nothing was too much trouble and we hope to see you again soon. There is a lovely outside seating area with the most spectacular views of the country side.

Beautiful 4 poster bedroom. Vegan breakfast the best we've ever had.

The room, our bedroom was upstairs. Downstairs was a bathroom/dressing room. It was large and felt wonderful not feeling cramped. The fridge had a small bottle of fresh milk. It was the small touches that made it exceptional.

Absolutely stunning property set in a peaceful location yet only a few minutes taxi tide to Halifax centre. Lovely, tidy, clean rooms with lovely attentive hosts. A few friendly local pubs within walking distance is a bonus and very close to the famous Shibden Hall and Park. The breakfast is highly recommended that includes magnificent local high quality ingredients cooked to perfection. Highly recommended, wished we had stayed an extra night.

rooms decorated lovely, bed very very comfortable. I loved the little extras, and loved having a small fridge in the room. Breakfast was lovely and well priced.

couldn't see in the bathroom mirror as it was too high and the magnifying mirror which was great to have was in a weird position, i had to do my makeup sitting on the bathroom floor in the mirror. Not a massive problem for me to be honest.

Lovely character hotel

The property is so lovely, there are 5 rooms in total, so great for a couples weekend away. They are clean and the little extra touches make it special with amazing views. Would highly recommend.

Beautiful old residence built in 1671. Beautifully decorated in period antiques. Had a delicious omelette for breakfast one morning. Great location!

Washcloths for bathing would be helpful, but we had brought our own.
