The exceedingly friendly and helpful staff were the only shining feature on our visit to The Old Golf House. The décor is very outdated and is in desperate need of an update. The shower pressure was almost comically bad, leading to us hardly being able to clean ourselves as only a small dribble came out of the shower head. This is a known problem that has still not been fixed. The breakfast was also quite lacklustre although this is to be expected for the price. Ample parking and good access to motorways.

Hotel was clan and comfortable although the choice on the bar was limited and there was only cold breakfast - I think the kitchen was being refurbished but it was a good choice

The hotel is still being refurbished but no mention of this on the website. No kitchen so no food and no Hot breakfast.
Nearly all the local pubs/eateries are closed Monday and Tuesday.
The bar area is sparse and unwelcoming.
No hot water on the evening so had to move rooms. Got 1 minute of hot water in new room before it ran out.

The staff were outstanding and so very helpful and friendly. The stay was let down by poor shower pressure. It was difficult to wash because the water barely came out of the shower head. If this can be resolved then the stay would have been outstanding.

Comfortable however the property looks tired and uncared for with old dirty looking carpets in communal areas. Also the bathroom though clean had a number of problems. The toilet is too near the wall. I am slender but a large person would have to sit sideways on. The shower was difficult to operate and totally lacking in power. The sink taps were also inefficient. Bed was comfortable however but the furniture is old and outdated. Staff on reception on arrival pleasant.

Staff were amazing very friendly, the hotel is a little tired , but they are doing a new food area which will make the hotel a lot better , great position right by the motorway, ideal if you don’t want to spend to much money

Lovely lady on reception. But no food available and only continental breakfast available, that wasn’t clear when I booked. The shower was just pathetic. Really low pressure and they knew of the issue apparently. It needs a refurb but I appreciate for the price of the room you get what you pay for.

Such a lovely place. On arrival we were greeted by a pleasant lady on the front desk.

The service is friendly and I got the impression that nothing was too much trouble.
Unfortunately that's the best I can say. The continental breakfast was stale and inedible. The room was clean and comfortable but very tired.
Considering that it was a non-smoking hotel there was a lingering smell of stale smoke throughout much of the downstairs corridors.
It's not currently in a state that would make me book again despite the friendliness of the staff.

I ordered a room with a double bed, I got 2 singles. There was noise and banging all night and a spotlight coming on throughout the night. Someone banged on my door at 1am then at 4am. The continental breakfast was a joke with limited choices. Reception was abandoned half the time. I complained but the owner laughed it off. I certainly won’t be going back.

Staff all very friendly and positive. Bedroom very warm even with no radiator on and window open at night. This is a problem I recall when I stayed at the hotel 3 years ago. Now under new management, problem still ongoing. Management need to resolve issue as it would deter me from booking again particularly during warmer weather.

Very tired hotel, newish clean carpets in most places but in need of a lick of paint and a general spruce up.
Someone was bitterly complaining that there was not hot water. I did tell them it takes a while and you had to turn it on full. They then complained there was no ice in the bar and worst of all no marmalade at breakfast, just apricot jam.

Over all I can't complain it was just abit disappointing. The decor needs to be upgraded a bit. It feels a bit tired, when I got into my room one of the pillows had a stain on it, And I was expecting a little bit more than just toast and boxes of cereal for the £6 that I paid for for breakfast as an additional charge. But overall I was just using it as a place to stay for a wedding. My inconveniences were minor

Easy to find. Location was okay just off the motorway. It was ideal for where I needed to go. The room was nice and spacious. The breakfast had a good selection available. It smelled a little and then realised they allow animals in the hotel. However a pleasant stay. Thank you

The famiy room we stayed in was dated with mis matched furniture. We waited over an hour for breakfast with just one lady serving the whole room. Wouldnt stay here again

The chef didn't turn up, there was nothing laid out at 8am and a lot of people were just leaving without breakfast as they didn't have time to wait. Apart from that, the hotel and staff were great, the location is also good.

What I thought would be a great find for two nights turned out to be very disappointing based on site photos - its old, shabby, musty. Couldnt take the discomfort of the old, lumpy mattress a second night so requested to move to another room. Much better night the second night. Hot breakfast was cold as ice and definitely not like the photos!

Needs some TLC lawns out side need mowing and inside could do with a lick of paint ,the staff are very good and helpfull .breakfast could do with a overhaul but still good .

This is the third time we have stayed at the Old Golf House and as per usual it met all its high standards. Lovely hotel and surroundings, extremely pleasant staff. Would have no hesitation recommending to others.
