The Sevana doesn’t look like much from the outside, but inside is spacious with lots of public seating areas and great views from the rooftop. We stayed here on two separate occasions and both times it was very good. Rooms are comfortable, staff are helpful. There’s a filtered water fountain with reusable glass bottles you can take to your room. The hotel organised a car and driver for us; both the car and the driver were very good, which is not always the case in Sri Lanka. There’s not many good eating options nearby, but we did find a good little restaurant across the road which did excellent dosas. It’s easy to get a tuk tuk to wherever you want to go.

We just stayed 2 nights at this lovely property. The property was clean, the rooftop pool was great to cool down in the heat.
The bedrooms are clean and modern, excellent beds and bedding. The only let down was the drainage smell in the bathroom.
WiFi was intermittent.
We would stay here again.
Staff and the owners were all lovely and friendly.
In a good location, within 15 minute walk to the tooth relic temple and kandy lake.

I liked this hotel. Staff were kind, the pool was good, spacious room, dinner at the restaurant was yummy. Good location close to the city centre and walking distance to lots of restaurants so good value for price. My only complaint was that there was a temple nearby that played music very loudly - all 3 nights I stayed it woke me up at 5am blaring. I’m
not sure if this was a common occurrence or not and it’s not anything to do with the hotel per se but may have impacted my decisions

Truely excellent hotel - it is much better than 3 stars. The staff are friendly and helpful, the place is super clean with really top quality bedding. Food in the restaurant is good and fairly priced and the rooftop pool is fun for a quick dip. The hotel works well towards being environmentally friendly. The loction is just outside of the main city centre - an easy walk to the city or lake, a short tuk tuk to the botanical gardens and there are plenty of places to eat nearby.

We liked the view from our room to the city centre of Kandy. Beds were really cozy and the bathroom was clean. The staff was friendly and tried to help us the whole stay long.
Nevertheless I need to say that the room was poorly soundproofed. We were able to hear the sound of the mosque for praying a couple of times per day (starting 5 am in the morning!). I know this is a cultural thing, but the room could still be more isolated. Additionally the furnishing was quite old and the wallpaper came off. An extra problem was that directly on the first day someone burst into the room without knocking. This is not acceptable at all!

We really enjoyed our stay at Sevana City. All the staff were very friendly and helpful including the restaurant. The food was good and fair prices. The room was clean and bed was comfy. Only comment would be some more space to put toiletries in the bathroom. Free water filter was very helpful. Nice outside area for lounging or dip in pool. Good location for getting to main sights by foot. We ate at ‘mystery meat’ just opposite the hotel which was also good. The hotel kindly organised a guide for a day trip to Sigiriya from why not getaways…Rehan was BRILLIANT and we would recommend him to anyone!!

This is a well located hotel in the centre of town which I found okayish for an overnight stay. I had a deluxe room but it’s a big stretch to call it that. It was more like a backpacker standard place.
Shower had poor pressure. But the bed was comfy and clean.
I wouldn’t say never again, but I think I’d try somewhere else next time to be honest.
If you get it at a cheap price then fair enough id say

Sevana City Hotel Kandy was in a great location and 5 minutes from the train station. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
Had my bags taken to my room when l arrived and as l went somewhere on a tour for a few days l was able to leave my bag for a few days.
Breakfast was great on the rooftop with a staff member who always smiled and brought my tailored breakfast

Great stay! Rooms were clean, comfortable with great beds and pillows and great air conditioner. Nestled right in the city, but also very quiet in the room. Step out the front door and you are in a bustling area with all the conveniences.

It was an excellent deal for the price. The hotel is almost right in the middle of the city. The room is clean and spacious. View from the room was also nice (I got the city view room with two queen beds.) The staff are very friendly. The TV didn't work (i.e. no channels), but I was also chromecast into it. There was free WiFi, but the speed was not that great. Didn't use the pool or at-facility dinning. If you are driving, you better call the hotel to figure out the parking option. The parking for the hotel is not at the same address as the hotel. We didn't drive.

The interior is very nice, but one should note that there is no elevator between the ground floor and 1st floor. The rooftop pool was also a bit disappointing, the water being dirty enough that we didn't feel comfortable using it. The service was very good, they let us use their phone to make calls.
