Just returned from a weekend break in Newcastle.
Hotel was spotless and had a central location, convenient for the station, shopping, restaurants and pubs. Decent breakfast.There was a bit of external noise from the inevitable police/ambulance sirens and the usual stag and hen parties returning in the early hours, which is typical of many city centres.
Service was good, barring one member of the bar staff who thought their priority was to replenish the fridges rather than serve their only customer (me). "I'll be with you in a minute" after ignoring me for a couple on mins while filling the first fridge, then going onto start filling a second one, before I decided not to bother buying a drink there.
I wonder if they would consider saying the same thing to a fridge, "I'll be with you in a minute, while I serve this customer"? No, I thought not. I'd hope it was a one-off.

Comfortable clean room, shower wasn’t great but for an overnight stay is just fine. Staff gave great service and breakfast was good.

The lady receptionists was rude when i booked in when my colleagues had already booked in the day before and spoken with Micky to confirm when i arrived to meet with my friends the women said that nothing is had been arranged

Very friendly staff. Room was compact but very nice. I did find the ac a little confusing and would have liked more light in the room and an outlet for charging on both sides of the bed, but minor quibbles.

I had the worst experience to stay in holiday inn Newcastle the room was booked for family of 4 and a baby. But the room we were given with one double bed and one sofa bed and given cot for us to setup ourselves but the room size was so small that even with the sofa bed there was barely any space to walk without banging into table or chair my son hit his head twice with the table as the sofa bed was extended underneath the table and we couldn't use cot as there was absolutely no space where we can fit that thing. In the morning breakfast was already finished and not refilled and was told that it's finished and they can't give us any. If you travelling with family definitely not the hotel for you. The only good things was all restaurants were nearby but my trip was ruined anyways so wasn't even interested in that.

Amazing staff. Unexpected stay on Saturday evening and the lovely duo on reception were a hoot! Lovely to be served by people who are great at what they do and have fun while doing it!

Perfectly decent place to stay in Newcastle. Excellent location, about 5 minutes walk from the train station and about 10 minutes walk from the central shopping district. Breakfast buffet was good too. Would happily stay here again.

I arrived on Friday afternoon, the stuff greet me with friendly manner, chech in went well and got in my room. My room is not big or small just right with nice Samsung Tv (should have brought me my VG console but next yeat i will). The bed soft and firm, the bath room is nice. Breakfast is delicious, had nice cider drink which is delicious too. I recommend stay and is it perfect near the train station, Thank you 😊

As expected the Geordies are very welcoming.
Only downsides were;
The room. The AC wasn't working but they gave us a fan.
My OH thought the bed was too hard.
Fab location though and decent breakfast.

Usually choose HI express when in Newcastle. Easy to drive to , car park next door , everything we need (pubs and gigs) in easy walking distance. Staff always locals so helpful and friendly
