Big comfortable bed, good size room, hot powerful shower, all the facilities you need, free large carpark, great location and friendly/accommodating staff.

Staff are helpful
Room wasn’t cleaned when we arrived at the hotel, the emergency phone number given by the hotel was incorrect, we end up asking other customers for the correct phone number.
The air dryer was faulty and the room condition is much worse than the photos, the bed was way too short and wasn’t comfy.
We stayed for two nights and have never seen a receptionist.

Staff were lovely and kind 10/10
Property was very old fashioned and needs renovated, all hotels in the area are expensive like this I’d recommend staying outside of Ambleside and driving in.

Location was fantastic. There was plenty of room for parking and the staff were really lovely.
Rooms could maybe do with a little bit of dusting in the higher places and the headboard needs changing, but that's a very minor thing.

We had such a lovely stay for our Wedding Anniversary. The staff were so friendly and helpful. James greeted us wishing us a Happy Anniversary when we check in and told us we had kindly been upgraded to the Oscar Wilde Suite what a lovely surprise thank you. Wow we couldn't believe how big it was so lovely and spacious such a pretty suite .We look forward to returning.

Location is the most convenient place for someone like us, not driving. 10mins from Railway station and 2mins to all restaurants, 20mins to Bowness pier and 20mins to swimming and water activity centre.
Facility is a bit old as you could tell from the traditional outside but staff was super nice and helpful!
No hairdryers. Would be great to prepare one.

It can’t be helped but the road outside was very noisy and it woke us up quite a lot.

location and ease of travel
The duty manager was very rude, manner less and atrocious man. He charged us 25 pounds and didn’t have any receipt. He asked for cash only and not credit card.
He was a shameless and crooked man with no respect for family. He threatened us to cancel our booking when we came for check in and was not giving the keys.
A strict action should be taken against him and he should be immediately taken out of tue property as he s damaging the image of the property with his behaviour and attitude and intense harassment to the customers.

Perfect location and easy to find. Extremely kind and helpful receptionist. Free parking and close to train and bus station.

Manager and his partner were exceptional, very friendly with superb local information, went above and beyond to make our stay exceptional.

Lovely hotel. The staff were really nice and friendly. We brought out Labrador with us and she was made really welcome, they even made her sausages for breakfast!
Hotel rooms were really clean, rooms was a good size and the location was perfect for Windermere and Bowness on Windermere.
