HAD NO RUNNING WATER AT TIMES! LOSS OF POWER AT TIMES. WE WERE IN THE ELEVATOR WHEN POWER FAILED!!

L'emplacement central
Nous sommes arrivés à 21h15 et avons attendu 20 mn car même s'il est annoncé que les chiens sont acceptés, l'hôtel nous a changé de chambre quand ils ont vu qu'on avait un chien et pour une réservation chambre supérieure nous nous sommes retrouvés dans 1 lit de 140 avec une literie qui n'en était pas une😱 ! Bien sur avec un coût supplémentaire 😱
Pas de possibilité de manger sur place à 21h tout est fermé dans l'hôtel / restaurant.. De qui se moque t'on ?
Pour ce qui est du petit dej il est à l'image de la chambre...
Un conseil pour 20 euros de plus vous avez bien d'autres hôtels de meilleurs qualités.

La habitación sin ninguna vista y eso que pagué por habitación superior. La habitación en mal estado de mantenimiento. El gimnasio mugrientos.
El dasayuno regular. Siempre lo mismo. Un día tuve que pedir que me cambiaran los cubiertos porque tenía lechuga pegada y seca en el tenedor. Un asco.

I have been staying in Hotel Balmoral since the 1980’s, and since have stayed on several occasions since over the years. It’s in a great location downtown San Jose and the staff are welcoming and friendly.
All the rooms need upgrading for these prices.

one elevator doesnt stop in the reception level and i walk with a cane . at one point the said elevator would be the only one available i had to drag my luggage from one floor to another . Very difficult and unacceptable - needs more orientation to handicap needs .

The room was very spacious, clean and good hot water. We also enjoyed the patio looking out to the street. It was like having another separate room. Friendly and helpful staff.

Great staff and treatment, nicely furbished, very central, parking, patio downstairs with a restaurant and bar, overall a nice stay to wrap up our trip. Thete was some confusion over ordering an airport taxi but it got sorted in the end.
All good really, located on busy main street if that’s not your thing maybe, but indoors was really quiet. I for one appreciated being within a short walk of everything.

Since we arrived in the late evening with a rental car, it was a bit challenging to know where the entrance was since you had to go into the driveway/parking area to get to the entrance/lobby desk.

The location of the hotel is on the city centre
Everything else. The hotel does not match with the pictures offered. We were not explained by the staff about any of the facilities included. The hotel is extremely old, the bath didn’t work properly, the wifi is really poor and the bed very uncontrollable. Definitely not worth to stay here again.

The location was ideal for wanting to explore the museums, theatres and churches.
The service was a big disappointment. The staff did not care much about tending to your needs. Even when we shared our concerns, their responses were very dismissive and aloof. Showers did not drain well, no safety box in the room, room service took forever.

it’s old fashioned, decor is out of date, bathrooms need a modern up date and room just smelt old and damp, the view out if my window was blocked (no view, no natural light - would be classed as 2/3 stars in the UK. also access to reception is a bit annoying and not easy to find if you arrive in the dark.
Area is also very dodgy after 9pm and nothing is open.

It is centrally located, walk to many shops, restaurants bakeries and museums. it is also one of the main hotels for day tour pick ups. It has its own restaurant to serve breakfast and dinner but the service is not great. The breakfast has 5-6 fixed choices and very basic. But the pros are far more than the cons. Worth it.

The hotel is conveniently located in the historic center but it is very outdated and not very clean. The room was large but the bathroom was not clean and the smell of damp was very strong. The breakfast is basic
