Unbelievable quality hotel. The views, the food, the staff, and location, just perfect.

Wunderbares Frühstück serviert auf der einladenden Terrasse mit herrlichem Ausblick. Gemütliche Zimmer mit großer Terrasse oder Balkon. Garten mit Plätzen zum Verweilen…..

Alles war perfekt! Ein ganz stilvolles, wunderschönes Haus, ganz tolle Zimmer, alles perfekt sauber und alles funktioniert. Die Aussicht ist einmalig, der Pool ist das i-Tüpfelchen! Das Essen und das Personal waren herausragend! Mit Abstand die beste Unterkunft, die wir in Sri Lanka hatten! Wir kommen hoffentlich mal wieder!

Emplacement fabuleux dans la luxuriante verdure Sri lankaise éloigné du brouhaha de Kandy. Accueil très chaleureux et personnalisé. Nous avons pu découvrir tranquillement et à notre rythme la vie sri lankaise, les excellents curry servis à la Villa, les petits déjeuners sur la terrasse dominant la rivière et profiter à volonté de la piscine. Notre chambre très agréable disposait d’un balcon terrasse orienté plein Est avec vue de dos sur l’immense Bouda blanc surplombant Kandy.

The view over the valley from the pool and restaurant was incredible, all the staff were very attentive and friendly. The breakfast was very good and the Sri Lanka set menu for dinner cannot be missed- just incredible!

We had a large room on the ground floor directly by the pool which was lovely. The views were sensational as were the staff, who were warm, welcoming, very kind and informative.

This is a very well run hotel with wonderful staff and excellent views but without the extra luxury that a boutique hotel would offer. It is also on a steep hill.

We stayed for two nights in Villa Rosa and honestly it was a highlight of our 3 week trip. We arrived at Villa Rosa at 6am after landing and we were kindly greeted and offered an early check in and a free room upgrade. The views from the villa and the shared infinity pool are spectacular. The rooms themselves are beautiful and the Sri Lankan set dinner was incredible, with as much food as you could want. We ate at the Villa both evenings, it was some of the best food of our whole trip. We were able to order dinner and eat on our balcony which was wonderful as we were tired from the long flight I really have to mention the exceptional service we received from the staff, they were polite, kind and couldn't do more for us. Dilan was taking care of us each evening and he was a delight. The road up to the villa was steep and I was a little nervous in the taxi from the airport, but once you get there its nothing for the local TukTuk drivers to take you down and back from Kandy as they are so used to the steep hills. Its just 10 minutes in a Tuk into the centre but you feel a million miles away up in the stillness and quietness of Villa Rosa If you're considering it, book here, you won't regret it

Ganz hoch oben am Berg, mit einer herrlichen Aussicht in einem wunderschönen Anwesen scheint die Zeit ein wenig still zu stehen, zumindest das Gewusel in Kandy ist hier fast vergessen. Das Essen war das leckerste, was wir auf unserer ganzen Reise genießen durften, herrliche vegetarische Curries zum Reinlegen. Sehr netter und hilfsbereiter, immer ansprechbarer Besitzer und unglaublich freundliche Mitarbeitende! Wunderschöner Garten, toller Pool, einfach zum Seele baumeln lassen.

Wundervolle Aussicht und sehr gepflegte Anlage. Schöne grosse Zimmer, freundliches Personal und eigener Tuktuk Service in die Stadt. Super leckeres Essen (Sri Lanka Menu).

Nach den Duschen steht das halbe Bad unter Wasser.

Traumhafte Lage und persönliche, herzliche Menschen, große, schön eingerichtete Zimmer mit tollem Blick und dann noch das Essen… ein Traum! Wir haben uns sehr aufgehoben gefühlt und am Ende wurden sogar noch Tickets für die Zugfahrt organisiert. Villa Rosa organisiert auch eine Tour über den Grossmarkt!

Very nice views of the river and hills beyond. Door from room opened out on to a wide veranda with relaxing seating. Bathroom was spacious, attractive and well appointed. Room could have used a small fridge. Sri Lankan food served in restaurant was excellent!

Access to property is difficult due to steep, narrow roads which our car was not able to negotiate. We had to travel the last kilometer by transferring to a tuk-tuk. However, hotel staff were very helpful in managing this for us.

- die Preise vom Transfer sind doppelt so teuer wie von anderen Anbietern. Da Kandy unser erster Stopp war, wussten wir es nicht besser und haben uns so etwas über den Tisch gezogen gefühlt. - mein Mann hat einen Abend das westliche Menü mit Fisch gegessen. Dieser war leider sehr trocken, als wäre der in der Mikrowelle aufgewärmt. Nichtsdestotrotz können wir die Villa Rosa zu 100% empfehlen! Wir danken euch für die tolle Zeit.

The most beautiful place I have ever stayed. The views alone were why I booked this place but the staff and rooms are also exceptional. Wish we could have stayed longer. The sounds of the wildlife, the infinity pool, the meals were lovely. If you have a chance to stay do it!

It's not really walking distance to town but its so easy to get a ride, also we just chose to hardly leave the hotel as it was too nice

This hotel was the highlight of our trip. I’m so disappointed we only booked one night . We had dinner on our balcony with the most beautiful view . The room was huge and furnished with anitiques. The staff are divine . The food was excellent . This was probably the one of the best hotels I’ve stayed in . I have travelled the world and stayed in 5 stars many times .

De eigenaar het en het gehele persoon was geweldig. Alles klopt, de chef maakt heerlijke Rice & Curry. En als kers op de taart het net aangelegde zwembad is super!

It is a bite expansive for Sri Lankan standard, but wow, the hotel is gorgeous. The best we had during our trip to Sri Lanka. The view is stunning, and you can hear the fauna around you. Don't forget to watch the sunset! I highly recommend an early swim in the morning and getting the breakfast around the swimming pool, as you will see monkeys getting nearby the pool. Unfortunately, it was only one night, but for sure, we will come back to this hotel when we come back to Sri Lanka.

As soon as you arrive outside Villa Rosa you can feel that it is special. We were created by the owner and had plans to go sight seeing in the evening but soon abandoned that to make the most of the incredible calm atmosphere, pool and breathtaking views. We only had one night and I wish we could have stayed longer, I could have looked at that view forever.

PERFECT STAY IN KANDY A highlight of our trip, this gorgeous boutique villa was a favourite. The host Volker is so welcoming and accommodating and the service from the staff the best in our trip. Special thanks to Dillon who took care of us so well. Beautiful Sri Lankan breakfast and dinner, and stunning infinity pool overlooking river, away from hustle and bustle. Rooms very authentic and charming. Amazing sunsets. A must stay when you are in Kandy. Thank you so much ❤️❤️

Everything was perfect

The location is wonderful! Everything was perfect, from the room to the service and the food. The ambiance at the Villa holds a unique charm and there is an amazing view.

The friendliness of Nilanka. A trip with him to the market in Kandy is an extraordinary experience. The tuk-tuk shuttle service from the villa to the centre is also wonderful.

This is such a beautiful place with the best view in town! The room was specious and nicely decorated. The food was delicious and the coffee was the best I had in Sri Lanka. Very friendly people (and doggy) always happy to make an extra step to help you. Nice and relaxing ambience, even on a stormy day.

Really lovely place to stay on top of the hill near the city center. The food was really good, especially the Sri Lankan curry. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, and Volker was really nice and gave lots of great tips. The pool is a great spot to cool off as well!

The road to the top was quite windy - if we didn’t have a driver it would have been very tough to get up!

Literally everything. The personalities, the food and the service all complement what is a breathtaking building and view.
