Great location

Couldn’t use the pool for two days straight

My daughter and I stayed at Parador Santo Domingo for 5 days while we explored Oaxaca and we had a fantastic time. Location was walking distance to the places we wanted to visit. The room was spacious and comfortable, the pool was great to cool off after a day of sightseeing. The best part was that the staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was impeccably clean. Our housekeeper Gloria helped us with everything we needed and gave us good information about places to go in Oaxaca. I definitely recommend!!!

Everything was great!

Our stay could have been better and this property could have better reviews from me. There are a few things that we liked such as the remodeled kitchen and the plates, glasses and utensils to prepare a light meal. The cleaning staff did a magnificient work. There is a swimming pool that is well mantained. A refreshing splash after touring the city is a welcoming end to your day.

At the end of our visit, we left our luggage, including my backpack, for a few hours, and the staff placed it in the open storage closet behind the front desk. Of course, I did not think to take my valuables from my backpack and to my surprise, when I got to the airport and looked for my envelope of cash, it was gone. I believe that it is NOT a good idea to accuse anyone of robbery, but that is what happened there: my money was gone. I had put it there right BEFORE I gave my backpack to the front desk staff. It is hard for me to report this via Booking, but I have to, because if other people visit this property, they should make sure NOT to leave their luggage at the front desk, as it might well be unsupervised. Whoever did this, had plenty of time to check thoroughly. We had a 3:23 flight to Mexico City but had to vacate at noon. We decided that leaving it there was safe. What an error. I accept that it was silly to leave my valuables there, but if this is a business with associations like Booking, then there must be some level of trust between the traveler and the company we visited. Certainly, we would never return to this place.

Beautiful apartment in great location. There is a pool and staff are friendly.

There was an extra charge for tax we weren’t told about when we booked so the hotel was much more expensive than we thought. I do think this needs to change as some people would be priced out. Also, we arrived at midnight and there was building works literally on the wall on the other side of our beds the morning after. Would have been nice to have been warned as we were hoping to catch up on sleep.

The room is older than it looks in th photos. Is nice and the bathroom is clean but the living room was not clean from the beginning. The WiFi is not the best but you can work around.

The location is amazing very close to the Historic center and an organic market. The appartment was clean and quite. The staff very accomodating.

I would highly recommend this hotel, because it is in the middle of center of the city, but you still get the quietness you want. It's just minutes away from places of interest, great restaurants. The hotel has a pool which is a huge advantage for this area. Overall, I liked the stay a lot. Rooms are spacious, bed is comfy.

The location is fantastic, walking distance to a lot of cafes, restaurants and street markets. The pool is a great place to cool down after a day of exploring.

The room is a bit dated, the kitchen is not stocked well and the room gets a little hot during the day.

This is the first time I found a room in the centre of Oaxaca which was perfectly reachable by car and at a walking distance of the centre, without the usual parking problems. The apartment has separate kitchen, living room, sleeping room and bathroom, all reasonably well equipped.

The photos of the apartment on Booking.com are highly deceiving. Instead of an airy and spacious studio, you will get three small separate rooms. Evidently, if the website states "mountain view, garden view, city view", you know beforehand that you will only have an ordinary view, because that's what you expect in a city centre. Unfortunately, we didn't even get that, just a dark apartment on the ground floor, with a view on the stairs to the first floor. Everything that is said or done by the neighbours in the same block can be heard all the time. We had a happy whistling Mexican the first three days, who started his concerts at 6.00 in the morning and could get rather loud when tipsy in the evening, followed by a nice Mexican lady who was giving French classes online in a loud voice and a strong Spanish accent. The crying baby on the first floor was a welcome relief, providing us with sweet memories of our time travelling when the kids were small. In short, the place is severely overrated on Booking.com, the information on the website is misleading; we still had a good time but certainly not the relaxing experience we needed so much.

Very nice staff, great location in the historic center, nice and spacious apartments

Suites parador is a lovely little set of apartments in a perfect location in Oaxaca just on the edge of the old town. It has a sweet little pool perfect for chilling out at after walking around the town all day and the apartments were spacious and clean.

Pretty bad for mosquitos in the room - we get very bitten! kitchen didn’t have very many cooking implements. We were staying with our baby and they did provide a cot but we didn’t have anything to boil water for formula.
