When I checked in the guy at the desk made a loud comment about the fact that I booked through an agent and therefore I was getting room 211. Not sure why that was necessary. I was planning to go to my room, order food and work the afternoon away. The room across from mine was getting maintenance work done, loudly. I wasn’t warned at all, the painter/builder was lovely and very apologetic. I wanted to grab the menu for in room ordering and it was so dirty and sticky all the pages were stuck together. I took it to the front desk asking to please have another one sent to my room as it put me off and I decided to go for a walk. When returned there was no sign of a new menu so I called to ask for it again. The girl on the phone proceeded to tell me I can just check it ok the tv, quite rudely and I asked If I can just please get another copy. It arrived within maybe one hour. It was greasy too but openable! I have photos of both.. I barely had anyone ever greeting me or smiling which was very sad for this kind of hotel. At check out I got asked how was the experience and I explained how disappointed I was for the money I spent. Amar (manager on duty) was really nice and sorry for my experience, and waved the breakfast fee. Although I appreciated it this was a terrible experience for a room just under $400 a night and in the future I will stay clear from booking my hotels via this platform and this chain of hotels.

My stay at the hotel was outstanding. Every member of staff was courteous and professional. The hotel is kept in excellent condition with constant upkeep highly visible. The buffet breakfast is amazing and has so much variety. My room was neat and beautiful. Would highly recommend this hotel.

Beautiful hotel - for the price $750 - breakfast should be included at least a continental breakfast. We could not lay by the pool which we were looking forward to do due to noisey children not supervised by their parents. Lovely spacious sunny courtyard room in the heart of Double Bay.

Always a pleasant stay. Prices however were through the roof for this weekend and didn’t include parking or breakfast. Really quite high European pricing, I thought.
However, we stay because the location is wonderful and peaceful with everything a very easy walk away, including beautiful Sydney Harbour. Quiet and villagey, not impersonal and super high rise like the CBD

We were happy with our stay. Concierge were great. The annoying part was a text message sent to us a few hours later accusing us that we have taken undeclared items from the mini bar after we clarified this during check out that we have not taken anything and want to charge directly to the credit card that we used. This is so insulting. I want to raise awareness with other customers to ensure that this will not happen to them.

The service was impeccable and the breakfast buffet was amazing. The neighbourhood wasn't quite as interesting as we'd hoped - a nice little beach nearby but the small shopping area looks like a place to spend obscene amounts of money on boring stuff.

It was excellent. The only problem I had was my room was very cold. I went to the Reception and they advised they would have someone attend to it.

I had ordered room service but only got the food after 90 min,after various calls to reception,then the phone in the room was not working so I had to go down and enquire what happened to my order,the chap says "ooh I forgot "

The roof-top was nice to sit and have drinks and some food.
Only negative comment on roof-top bar was there was only 1 red choice (Pinot Noir) - no Shiraz/Cabernet availability.

A quality stay is a great area of Sydney with easy access to the city via a short ferry ride. Very enjoyable stay, great roof top pool and the breakfast was delicious.

Overall the Hotel is great and I would recommend it , but the air conditioning in our room was not working correctly plus the pool area is very small and not managed so it’s impossible to get a seat by the pool in the weekend as no towels are removed from seats that are not currently being used .,

My key issue is that I was charged twice for our stay and am still awaiting a refund - I booked via Expedia so pre-paid all costs in advance but the hotel also charged my credit card after we left. I had to follow up by phone and twice by email to action a refund and was told it would take 7-10 business days to process. I am still waiting…
I also found it unusual that only 2 pillows were provided as standard for a double bed in our room - very unusual for a 5 star hotel to skimp on pillows but an additional 2 pillows were provided following 2 requests

The room condition was good, but when I lay down, I felt that there was some sand on the bed right after check-in.
I wonder if the bed covers are washed and replaced every time a guest checks out.

Guests elevators broke down four times, once we had to take the emergency stairs down to the lobby, the other time needed to take stairs from the rooftop bar to 5th floor. Grumping water pipers while shower: when showering water came out from rain shower at the same time. Water coming out of sink tap was milk white and with residue. A large walking cockroach and one small dead cockroach in our room one night. Overcharged us for a room service we didn’t order. Flying international but the receptionist booked a taxi for Domestic Terminal. Drilling and work carried out on a guest room near us on Dec 24. Construction site right next to hotel and one adjacent to hotel, fortunately not much work carried on during our 7-night stay over Christmas.
Not much service and definitely not a 5 star boutique hotel. The hotel seems more like a training ground for interns and young people and there was no synergy. Not much information provided for tourists, especially for dining during Christmas period, we were not informed the hotel bar was opened for drinks and food on Christmas Day.
Positive aspects: room was ready for early check in- it was clean and tidy, food and beverage was good, bell boys were helpful, polite: they always smiled and greeted guests. Justin at front desk was polite, efficient ,helped book a table at a nearby good restaurant. Margarita was the only receptionist who smiles. Buffet breakfast was good.
