The hotel was nice, but it looked like building work was in progress. The room was comfortable, but there was noise from a fan outside the room I assume from a cellar chiller, which was a problem and there was a smell in the bathroom.
Other than that it was OK and ciuld easily be made excellent.

The hotel was clean and tidy and I enjoyed my stay, the shower leaked so couldn't use it and the Wi-Fi didn't work but other than that all was good.

Our stay was good. The room was much bigger than we expected and the staff were very hospitable and allowed us a later checkout. Would recommend!

Check in was easy, text sent and lock box accessed. Parking was difficult and not obvious, it was not labeled and only 4 spaces for several rooms. Fortunately we got the last space. Never met a member of hotel staff. The room was huge, with a kitchenette. Bedding and towels were clean but the glasses and plates dirty. Skirting boards and behind bedside table was very dirty.

We checked in for 2 nights...and checked out after 9hrs and only stayed as it was late. The "entrance" is via the service entrance and dangerous walking to the rooms. The room was ok but the bathroom was a disgrace. I "chatted" with the hotel who said they would refund us...they thrn changed their decision and still wont! The hotel is on top of a noisy bar that stayed open till 11pm..no mention of this on hotels.com and the window was broken and wouldnt lock. As the room was in the loft the beams were right above the bed so very dangerous! I wish i had of read trip advisor before booking this place. It is NOT a hotel and though cheap should been clean. The fact the refund was retracted is also something mentioned in reviews before too! Disgraceful

The room was quite large and had view over the front.
Bathroom ok and there was a kitchen for making a meal
downstairs. I don't favour the keybox checking in system
and downstairs area very busy but still good value.

It's a great location and reasonable price. The room is big but there's maintenance jobs that need doing. And no service from staff to assist with issues or general enquiries, such as ' do you have an ironing board '. I will stay there again cause I know what I am dealing with and I can mitigate the poorer aspects of staying there.

Very misleading, owner not very helpful nor respectful and gave false hope. Not guarenteed to have a kitchen and no one there to help you. The “shared kitchen” which is not stated but the kitchen you get is shared unless you’re one of the lucky few was filthy with food stained which were evidently weeks or months old, so no professional cleaner has been in. The only good thing I will say is the house keeping can do there jobs and the rooms are clean.

The room we had was not the one in the picture. The fan and the wall light did not work in the bathroom. The windows were stuck shut with paint. We had to pay upfront for the room rather than on departure, The room its self was a bit grubby and not finished well. I would say overall it was not good value for money as Ive stayed in a lot better for a lot less.

Quite possibly the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in the door didn’t lock mattresses were terrible no toilet roll pigeons were in the room five flights of stairs with the baby

Hotel was clean, but a bit tied. Rooms were basic, but the price reflected this.Biggest problem was the noise. Location seemed to be a local retreat for happy (loud) people returning from a good night out in Newcastle. After a 150 mile drive sleep is good, preferably uninterrupted. Parking was difficult too. Probably wont stay there again.

The staff were friendly, polite and helpful. Good location, near town. Its not the Ritz, but clean, warm and good value for money as a base to explore or attend an event from.

Good new white towels and clean comfortable beds. All that can’t disguise its an old building and a bit ramshackle if you go in back door. Only about 3/4 parking spaces. On arrival the place looked deserted and reception was closed. The instruction to phone a number was not answered but after 20 mins or so a member of staff turned up. That was in contract to our checking out when the housekeeper / receptionist was great giving us good and helpful info. A quiet nights sleep too.

Took 3 hours for them to turn the heating off, room was unbearable and took until 23.30 to turn it off. Heavily pregnant wife was less than happy. Took them so long as they were busy in the kitchen (food stopped at 9pm??)

The room was like an attic and it was outside of the main hotel. The flooring was on a slope. And the windows did not open. The bathroom flooring maybe needed re-doing. I would say it was value for money though. Limited parking at rear of hotel.
