Great location right by the city mall
Front desk friendly and efficient
Rooms small and little room for bags suggest a bigger room type foe two people
Would be nice for a bottle opener or one built into the desk

Small room no window.600 rooms.Comfortable bed.Breakfast 25nz dollars per day extra.Had to ask for more milk as not given every day.

The room was small but functional, a bit tired but clean and well-serviced.
However the hotel it is located next to a bar that has very loud music running very late into the wee small hours on Friday and Saturday nights. Despite earplugs and sleeping with a pillow over my head it was still very loud and annoying.

I was disappointed with how small the room is, the smell of cleaning chemicals was overwhelming, and when the lights are off it is pitch black as had no window. Felt like a pod.

As a no-frills hotel in the center of the city, the Break free is great. Small rooms, but they have everything you'd expect, including a fridge! Comfortable bed. We've stayed there before and would stay again.

Good service by reception and dining. Had to be moved as lights weren’t working correctly. Second room had writing on switch from customer that said lights weren’t working in that room either

Rooms were very compact not an issue as we were only here one night. I found the bath room sliding door and the shower door very heavy and hard to move

I didn't look online clearly enough, but the rooms are crazy tiny, ok for 1 person, but super tight for 2 people. I was there with my wife, and climbing over each other to get in bed, as you cannot access both sides of the bed is not our idea of a hotel stay. I'm a big guy, and there was not enough room in bathroom to dry after a shower. My fault I should have paid more attention when booking
