The room was incredibly small. The pictures did not fully explain that the door BARELY clears the bed and the room was incredibly tight to manuever. Fridge never felt like it was cold but there was a huge block of ice in it so i guess it was. Room was very hot from the beginning and even after turning all the heat off and asking for a fan it was still hot the whole time. The only window was a patio door that i did not feel safe keeping open while i slept so there was no chance for cool night air to come in. Staff were nice enough. Building is pretty and well kept. I was just incredibly dissapointed with my room and what i paid for it.

Hotel Josefshof am Rathaus is truly one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed at. The location is perfect—situated in a quiet area but just a short walk from Vienna’s major attractions, including the Rathaus and MuseumsQuartier. It’s an ideal base for exploring the city. The rooms were spacious, beautifully designed, and spotlessly clean. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and I loved the modern amenities, especially the stylish bathroom with luxurious toiletries. The attention to detail in the decor made the room feel both cozy and elegant. What truly sets this hotel apart is the outstanding service. The staff were friendly, professional, and always ready to assist with anything we needed, from restaurant recommendations to transportation tips. Their warmth and attentiveness made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The breakfast buffet was fantastic, offering a wide range of delicious options to suit every taste, from fresh fruits and pastries to hot dishes. The quality of the food and the relaxing atmosphere made for a perfect start to each day. Overall, Hotel Josefshof am Rathaus exceeded my expectations in every way. It’s a wonderful combination of comfort, elegance, and excellent service, making it one of the best hotel experiences I’ve ever had. Highly recommended!

Excellent hotel and location. There was construction going on on the street in front but they sent us a note ahead of time explaining this. Very attentive. Amazing value!

Lovely hotel, very helpful and friendly staff, excellent breakfast. Very good area of Vienna near transport links and close by museums and other interesting sights. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

DEFINITELY A MUST STAY HOTEL! Larissa!!! From the moment we arrived at the reception, tired & jet-lagged, she welcomed us & made us feel right at home at this beautiful hotel. After we left our bags in our WONDERFUL room (fabulous air conditioning), Larissa showed us where to get a FANTASTIC lunch. She gave us an overview of Vienna which we followed the whole time we were there (almost one week). Every time we saw her in the hotel, she remembered us & helped with any questions. Larissa is outstanding in every way & made our stay here the best from the moment we arrived. The entire staff in the kitchen (breakfast) & reception/bar was friendly and helpful. The daily breakfast at the Josefhofs was outstanding; incredible variety & new items each day so that we still ate our favorite things but got to try new things as well. Gorgeous interior courtyard to eat our breakfast, or inside seating area if preferred. Very cool bar/eatery inside the hotel from noon (when breakfast ends) until the wee hours of the morning. Very quiet for agreat nights sleep every night. Great bed & bathroom/shower. Free drinks at the bar downstairs (1 per person) for every day you choose not to have the room cleaned. Great location; 5 minute walk to the metro (easy metro system), less than 5 minute walk to city area, 15-20 minute walk to the cathedral with city streets, shops, cafes, restaurants all along the way (all is so close by including a great grocery store). We WILL stay here next time!

Very courteous and friendly welcome and room was ready a few hours earlier than expected. Clean and quiet hotel near to the Austrian Parliament area. Nearby is cafes, restaurants and shops plus public transport… ideal. The hotel staff aren’t that great about servicing the room re towels, clean cups, teabags, making the beds, etc. We had to ask for fresh towels on 3 occasions, only once were they brought to our room. The other times we went to reception, on one occasion I was handed 2 white towels which were actually floor mats! I had to force the matter to ask for bath towels. Housekeeping was the main let down.

Lovely hotel, staff were friendly and I felt very safe as a solo female traveler. Good breakfast options and a pretty outside courtyard. I accidentally left my ring in the room after check out, which was found by cleaning staff after my stay. the hotel staff were amazing going above and beyond to get the ring back to me. I will be forever thankful. I highly recommend this hotel and will be back to stay any time I’m in Vienna.

All good, the only downside, no gym and shower in the Nathalie tub.

We loved our stay in Vienna at the hotel. Very easy to get into the centre of the city and take advantage of the excellent public transport as very near a tram stop. Within an easy walk of the amazing architecture. The staff were great, the room was smart and clean with great aircon and a good maid service. Our only criticism would be the bedding. Very thin sheets and pillowcases with extremely worn pillows especially that were well past their best, all without protectors on the mattress and the afore-mentioned pillows. For the class of hotel and the overall class and quality, we felt this element let them down a bit. Overall though, a super stay.

All the staff were incredibly nice. The room was more of a problem as my bathroom smelt of cigarettes. It was also quite dusty.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The staff went above and beyond to help us and they were very friendly. Bathroom was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was very good, we had everything we needed. I would definitely stay here again.

Great hotel staff very friendly and helpful. Quiet location some lovely restaurants very nearby. We stayed 3 nights had a Greek meal a Mexican meal and an Austrian meal. There is work in front of the hotel to pedestrianise the road it is about 1/2 done it will be nice when it is finished only drawback rough paths going up. Not really a problem

A great location, very quiet, lovely courtyard, comfy beds and pillows. The only negative is breakfast - certainly not that great by German standards, not too much variety, although everything is quite edible.

Outstanding experience, super friendly and helpful staff, breakfast is superb, wonderful room. Hotel is on a small street off main road making it a hidden gem yet still walkable to all main attractions. Would love to stay there again!

The breakfast Buffett was excellent

The hotel is close to things to do and see. Please be aware, though that there is construction in the front of the hotel which causes a lot of noise early in the morning until around 5 PM the hotel provided earplugs but they weren’t helpful. Hopefully the construction will be done soon as this is a nice property.

Great spot!

The room was clean, aesthetically nice to look at, and the shower in the bathroom was lovely. The only downside of the hotel was that the side street it was located on was under construction while we were there (which we were forewarned about). Otherwise, we had a great stay and would definitely book again while visiting Vienna.

A quiet, central hotel. Aircon worked reasonably well at the height of the summer cooling the room to 22-23 C. Good wifi and shower, tea and coffee in the room, and a nice waiting area downstairs. The wait for a drink at the bar was almost 20 minutes.

The staff were so friendly and efficient, and our room was so quiet. A great location, walkable to main sites, but not right in the middle of things.

We loved our stay here, walking distance to the majority of tourist hot spots. The proximity to local shopping, keep a look out for a great cheese shop and the weekend local markets in the adjoining street.

The service here was excellent. The hotel manager (whose name I didn’t catch) was maybe the best I’ve encountered. Very friendly and professional. Our room had a terrific view of Prague and was quiet and comfortable.

I loved the facility and access to the heart of the old town in Vinna.
