The hotel does not have aircon and if you travel during summer it can be quite warm. The hotel offered a fan. The hotel is very close to the train station making it ideal for connections to other areas of the city. Traffic is high so the area is not quiet (in case you are travelling with kids)

Everything was perfect

This hotel is highly automated, you can check in, stay, and check out without contact with any human. I imagine that could be a plus or minus, but certainly don't expect a concierge! There is no obvious way to make inquiries etc.

There is no air con in the summer. Very hot. They provided fan but it was not enough to sleep comfortably.

Gorgeous apartment and only 100m away from the main train station

Checked into our room. No coffee maker, 1 knife, 1 fork and spoon for 2 people. No A/C with temperatures in Vienna climbing to around 29C. Called management and was told to move to the room next door. Back downstairs to do another check in. This room had a coffee maker and cutlery as well as a cracked and chipped cooktop. In lieu of A/C wexwerectold to use the fan in the room. As effective as a sparrow fart in a hurricane and it was filthy with dust and grime on the base and in all the outlets. The room was more akin to a student hostel and our last night was unbearable. The room was hot and stuffy and bordering, in my view, on being a health risk. So glad to leave and would recommend avoiding this place unless travelling in the depths of winter.

Nice, clean, well equipped. Small but according to pictures. The electronic check-in and check-out may be complicated if you are not too familiar with it. Better arrive within the hours with the reception open to avoid problems.

They having problem with main entrance opening by codes. Explanation not clear. Check in terminal and key generated is perfect

Like to stay

This was my 2nd stay. It is well-maintained and very convenient - a block from the main train station. Everything in the small unit is in good condition and fairly new. The room is good for short stays as it is quite small but it is well-equipped and the wifi is decent.

Clean, comfortable, small kitchen. Modern and neat. Nice location next to central railway station. You check yourself in and out and most of the time there's no-one on the front desk so I don't know what happens if you lock yourself out of your room or there's a security issue or a problem with the room etc. There wasn't for me and perhaps there are protocols in place for everything but I was a bit more mindful than usual. It was fine though, perhaps I just worry too much. Nice place, all in all.

I didn’t line the blue light at night of the kitchen

A quick 2 minute walk from Viennna's main station takes you to the door of SMARTments, checking in online saves some hassle before arriving and gives the you the chance to either have your key on your phone or you can load a standard key card when you arrive. We stayed in the XLstudio and found it big enough for our week in town, plenty of storage space to hang clothes, kitchen is well set up with all you might need to cook for a night in just buy the ingredients in one of the shops near by or at the centre under the station. The bed is very comfortable but only one pillow either side, so if you require more state in your requests when booking. One thing I would like to say is they request that you put your waste in the garbage room prior to your departure as you would with staying at a private rental also in Austria it is segregated waste system so separate bins for different items. There are pay to use washing & dryers if needed too.

It is good

I really like staying at Smartments Wien Westbahnhof. It is so close to the train station and the U1, close to amenities like grocery stores, and has a nice little kitchen--very functional. I have stayed here many times on business trips. But I don't know if I will stay again. It is terribly noisy, due to the neighboring properties (which I assume are youth hotels). With the window open on warm night, it can be very hard to sleep: large groups coming and going make noise outside late into the night. It's a shame. It is my preferred place to stay in Vienna: excellent for business travel, especially for an extended stay and if you like to cook for yourself while traveling. But noisy!

The place is clean and has the basic items. A good location for the price. But the biggest problem is that the stuff is not at the front desk all the time. It is occupied at the business hours - 8 hours a day from Mo to Fr, and the hours are different each day. When I arrived on Sunday, there was a guest at the lobby and she told me that she has a problem with her room key and has been waiting for some help to arrive for more than an hour. When I checked out, I wanted to leave my luggage as I had several appointments in the city at different locations. I asked beforehand if I can leave luggage and was told it’s possible during the business hours. But the front desk was not occupied and there were two other guests waiting too. We called the phone number at the desk and the lady on the phone told us that she would notify the person in charge. But no one showed up after 15 min and I had to leave for my appointment with my luggage. I will not stay there again. If anything happens that requires front desk help outside of the business hours, you would be really toasted.

Very convenient for reaching downtown and international conference center

Lovely apartment would definetly go again if visiting vienna. Close to the main train station. Great place to explore vienna with easy bus, train and metro system.

The whole point of booking this hotel was to store our stuff before our train but they did not allow that. Like Um? We had to go to the central station to figure out the storage ourselves just to figure out that there was NO STORAGE?!?!? We called them again to see if they can accommodate us because of the lack of storage and they said they cannot do anything about it like what is the point of your existence?? L hotel.

The check in was terrible. On Expedia I searched for a Hotel in Vienna and Smartments came up in the category. However, there was no reception desk, no place to put luggage when I arrived prior to check in, so had to carry my ski bag with me for 1.5 hours. I only had one afternoon in Venice, so this was disappointing. This is definitely NOT a hotel, and one shouldn't expect any of the services one would get at a hotel. This should NOT be in the hotel category in Expedia.

The location of this hotel is very convenience. Hotel is clean, but the pillows are very soft. Short time stay is good choice.

It was a very comfortable place and really close to train station. Basic amenities provided with a complete kitchen. The only challenge was it took as a while to figure out the WiFi connection. Overall, I was pleased with our stay.

Good place to stay in a budget. I liked the location, and it was easy to get around from there. Clean space, but they provided only one super uncomfortable pillow and a very small blanket, so I had a hard time sleeping. I want to thank Renata for her amazing customer service. I arrived before the check-in time, and she was incredibly helpful & nice to me.

We really enjoyed staying at Smartments apartments. Its location next to the Main Train Station (Hauptbahnhof) was quite convenient, and having a kitchenette was a great bonus. The apartment was clean, comfortable and the walls were sound proof. We got more toilette paper from the supplies room using our room key when we ran out. Purchasing coffee was also easy at the front desk for the espresso machine in the room. The front desk was helpful and answered all our questions during the week but there was nobody in the weekend. Only incident we saw was one of the tenants got stuck in the elevator during the weekend, and it took a while till she was saved. We stopped using the elevator after that incident just in case. We will definitely go there again if we ever return to Vienna.

For the price, this place was great. The only thing I didn't like were the one pillow for the bed (it was flat and a bit uncomfortable), but otherwise I was very pleased.
