Great location, nice walk into Windermere and Bowness. The room has everything that you would need, and is warm and comfortable. Nothing is too much trouble, for Alena. She is always happy to help. Highly recommended, we will definitely return.

It was a cute little room with its own massive bathroom. All floors were heated. It had a private entrance from a gorgeous yard. The host Elena was pleasant and very helpful. Breakfast was delivered to the room daily. It is a short stroll to Windermere station, and restaurants.

beautiful room, with really large double bed. fabulous wet room bathroom with rain shower head and a deep large bath. outside seating area overlooking beautiful gardens. Alena the host is so welcoming and attentive. Great breakfast delivered to the room, with quality local products. Set at the top of Winderemere, it is just a short walk down the hill to the main town. No road noise, as rooms face downhill. A real hidden gem.

Loved this place Old school charm, spacious and with an amazing bathroom. The shower was the best I've experienced. The owner was lovely and couldn't have been nicer. Would definitely stay again.

great location, very peaceful & relaxing and most importantly we were so well looked after. our room was lovely, comfortable & the underfloor heating a bonus for our stay in January. Loved that you walk out of the room straight into the garden. breakfast served in the room was great too.

The room was excellent and of a great size with a very large bathroom with a walk in shower. The room has its own entrance in the rear garden with its own patio set which was lovely sitting having a drink in the sun. No problem with clean towels or room service all very good. The breakfast is very good with loads of choice. The location is at the very top end of Windermere which if we hadn't stopped there we would of missed out on some nice bars and restaurants, so liked the location.

We were warmly hosted by Alena. This is a beautiful hotel with a lovely garden. You got your private entrance to your own and breakfast is nicely served in your room. The room is super clean. Highly recommend and I would like to visit again :) many thanks dear Alena!

All is fantastic.

Apartment was lovely nice soft furnishing and very comfortable it was at the back of the house overlooking the beautiful garden it was very quiet, breakfast was lovely, 2 of us had fresh fruit and yogurt and 2 had cereals they said they liked weetabix so Alena the owner got some for them for the next morning we all had a cooked breakfast too which was really nice. Alena told us about the area and recommended places to go and chatted with us after breakfast a lovely stay and we will hopefully return.

Location and surroundings

The breakfast was excellent. Whatever we asked for Alena provided. She and Roger even bought me a card and a box of chocolates for my Birthday which made our stay even more special. Thank you!

Our second stay at Annesdale House, just as good as our first visit. Good breakfast with plenty of choices, nice patio area to sit out in the garden.

The breakfast selection was excellent and really set us up for the day. Being able to walk into Windermere town centre with all its restaurants, shops etc was a bonus and even the 3k walk into Bowness was a pleasure. Alena & Roger had seemed to anticipate our every need even before we asked!. What great hosts.

Hard to know where to start. The location is perfect for walking into town or fro driving just about anywhere. The two rooms are spacious and well equipped and the beds are comfortable, the owner is delightful and highly efficient and the breakfast give a wide range of options to pick from and served exactly on time, every time. Parking is fine if you have a standard car but a bit tight if you have a longer one but still not a real problem.

There is nothing we did not like!

1- Loved the location, walking distance to the high street, and station, yet tucked away in a peaceful corner. So it’s convenient for those who don’t drive too! 2- The host(S), Alena and Peter we’re so courteous and kind and they did everything they could to make our stay even better. 3- The room and facilities, the rooms were very clean, tastefully and thoughtfully decorated and opened up to a beautiful, peaceful garden. We were almost too sad to leave ! 4- The breakfast was very generous and tasty. Menu to be planned on the previous day as they kindly arrange the order accordingly.

The garden. Plenty of space. The bath the breakfast. The house is situated in the perfect spot. We had a lovely time and can’t wait to rebook.

Everything about this place was fantastic our host Alena went out of her way to make our stay lovely. Despite COVID we felt safe and looked after we were separate from anyone else having our breakfast in our room. The room was spacious with a huge bed, under floor heating was a lovely touch and the bathroom was huge with power shower and bath also with under floor heating. We loved the privacy of our own access but knew if we needed anything Alena was there to help. We couldn’t of asked for a better place and we will be returning. Great location in Windermere near the supermarket and bus station, easy bus route to Ambleside or within walking distance if your active. Bowness is about a 20 minute walk.

The room was lovely, the gardens were amazing, the owner was lovely went the extra mile to make us happy. The location was spot on for what we wanted to do during the day and super close to the centre of town to go for something to eat and have a drink on an evening.
