Im upset with this property at this moment,
First of all the restaurant staff are non sociable no acknowledgement of any kind.
Also, if you are planning on checking out a day or two earlier be aware there is no refund of any kind even though you are giving a 24hrs. Notice.
We reserved 5 rooms for 4 nights we checked in
One day earlier and paid for our day early direct to our hotel im not quite sure who is not wanting to give back a refund Expedia or Maria del Carmen Hotel. Maria del Carmen says Expedia and Expedia says Maria del Carmen. This is very frustrating.

Horrible hotel. Rooms were full of mold. The whole building smelled really bad, including the rooms. Rooms were dirty and full of dust. The elevator did not work well.

This place is a real gem. Spotlessly clean, great pool, comfortable beds, and location can't be beat. Awesome breakfast too. You'd be crazy not to stay here.

Great location near the center of Merida, staff was all over friendly and included breakfast was very good. Hotel was overall clean.
Hotel rooms could use a renovation as they look old, and the walls are extremely thin allowing way to much noise. Also housekeeping came to our door at 8.45 in the morning which is extremely early in my opinion (I don't tend to put an alarm on holiday).

Also, found it difficult to get any service in the dining area. Saw others having the same problem. Staff seemed to be occupied elsewhere and food was cold - had just been warmed up, not fresh.

Staff were very friendly. Building and rooms appear much nicer on website photos. We moved rooms for various reasons due to the building conditions. The new room had a leak in the bathroom and they duct taped it and painted over to repair. WiFi’s was terrible in the rooms, and mediocre in the common areas. It’s a shame because there could be a lot of potential in this hotel, but if you’re looking for something very basic at a decent price you will be fine. If you’re looking for a little luxury, you will be disappointed.

A few blocks from downtown so it was quiet but was still easy to get to downtown. A few blocks from bus depot. Very helpful staff. Excellent value for your money. Only real bad point was very poor wifi.

Wall's between rooms are very thin and you can hear everything. Also cleaning service knock to the room at 7am to clean the Room? They make a lot of noise with the trolleys in the corridor. Good breakfast.
