Loved Merida. The food is the best in Mexico. The hotel is located a few blocks from Parque Santa Ana which is where you need to be for the cultural experience. The hotel food is just okay, so I recommend that you spend your time eating outside at the fantastic collection of cafes and restaurants.

We booked the presidential suite for two nights as a special treat and were looking forward to the jacuzzi bath and the spacious terrace. Sadly there was no water on the day of our arrival and this was eventually fixed late in the evening when a small amount of water began to come out of the taps. The next morning there was no water again. This was then fixed and I managed a shower with a slow trickle before the water gave out completely. The hotel moved us to a basic room on the first floor - no jacuzzi and no terrace, but at least we had water! Really disappointing especially as we had paid for the highest priced room.

As a single traveler, it wasn't the right fit - but for a group or family, it would be fantastic. The property is beautiful; Cecil greets guests at the doors with a big smile; & the peacock & peahen were fun to flirt with. The only bar is in the pool area (mosquito hell for me). My room's AC did not work well and I had no hot water. They do not have washcloths or hair conditioner. As someone who likes to get out on foot, the location was not ideal for me, however if you have a car and plan to drive further afield during the day, this would be an ideal location.

Everything was good. I come to Merida about once a month for entertainment. And I will stay for one or two nights. I always liked this hotel, but it didn't have hot water. I like hot water for showering. So, now they have everything I want and the price is a great value. So, I will be visiting, regularly now.

Reception refuse to speak English even thought he knows and is expected as mentioned in the booking says enough about their attitude!! Also no manager at the hotel when asked for it!

Beds are very comfortable, suites are super nice they are missing a microwave, the complementary coffee was real good.
Small cosmetics issues, that even the high end hotels have.

I did not like the quality of the bath towels, two days before departure they provided softer cleaner towels.

Great hotel! Employees are friendly and extremely helpful. The rooms are comfortable, internet is great, landscaping and pool is phenomal, restaurant is delicious, and area is quiet. As an added perk there is a beautiful Peacock that enjoys hanging out with the gardener.

The staff was great very helpful. They have a breakfast buffet everyday if you don’t get a table early you will have to leave the hotel for your meal. Overall our stay was good and the area is very walkable, which helped in making our stay more enjoyable.

Hotel is off main thoroughfares so was quiet. We still had very easy access to Paseo de Montego with an easy two minute walk. Paseo 60 was a short walk away for several excellent restaurants.
Hotel itself was immaculate! Very clean top to bottom with a stunning courtyard and pool area. From the gentleman at front door to front desk to the ladies that clean the room, the staff was incredibly helpful and nice. As i am fluent in Spanish, i cannot talk to their level of another language, but while i was in hotel, i meet people from France, Brasil, and Germany there so the place does have a great reputation in other countries.
I will stay here again next time i come to Merida. Side note, also ample parking if you drive or rent a car.
