After an Airbnb host cancelled on us last minute I booked Econolodge for our trip to the Montreal Grand Prix and hoped for the best. The property, location and staff all exceeded our expectations! We will definitely book again on our next trip to Montreal!

Location: 3-4 minute walk to Berri-UQAM subway station— I have direct talk with only one turn. Renovated: The room looked like it had fairly new tile, carpet, bed, pillows, furniture, bathroom sink, and toilet. The bed was comfortably firm with superb pillows. Staff: friendly and professional, wanting to please you. Breakfast: The breakfast was the same every day: bread you could toast (White and multi grain), bagels, two kinds of cereal, milk, orange juice, apple juice, coffee, yogurt, apples, bananas, maybe some other beverage I can’t remember. Butter, peanut butter, Nutella, cream cheese, and jams are available every day. I was pleased. They advertised a cold breakfast, so my expectations were met. Common areas: although the building is old, the breakfast nook was updated.

There’s really nothing I was very displeased with, but if I hadn’t been a solo traveler, The creaky floor and creaky bathroom door might have been a problem when one of us had to go use the bathroom in the middle of the night. We would’ve bothered each other. The bathroom door had to be lifted up a little on one side to fit in the door frame to close it. These things didn’t bother me a bit since I was traveling alone.

J'ai aimé la chambre qui est tout aussi propre un gros WOW.

3 choses : Le stationnement, j'ai eue bien de la misère a rejoindre mon auto, je ne savais pas quel porte la chercher pour mon auto en sous-sol. Donc c'est 0 % Le déjeuner, la table était très sale, personne n'a nettoyer la table pour accueillir les nouveaux qui arrivent. De plus, il manquait beaucoup de nourriture, on était très très déçus ! De plus, le vendredi soir quand j'arrivais un peu tard, je crois il était 10h45 pm, il y avait beaucoup de jeune qui était là entrain de jaser avec le personnel dont j'attendais qu'il me répond quand je suis la, c'est pas fort ca !

The breakfast was fine, given the price. The hotel was conveniently located for transit and interesting sites. Staff w as excellent and helpful. Parking was convenient and inexpensive.

The room was down a flight of stairs, and inaccessible by elevator. There was no room to store toiletries in the bathroom, and the room itself was cramped. The biggest surprise was the immediate neighborhood, including the block, which is rapidly gentrifying. It seemed a bit dodgey at night. My guess is that a year from now, it will be completely different and the room rates will be a lot higher.

L'hôtel est idéalement placé, dans le centre de Montréal.

On nous a donné une chambre donnant sur la rue, avec la climatisation en panne (pas de rafraîchissement)et faisant beaucoup de bruit. Donc obligé d'ouvrir la fenêtre et subir le bruit de la circulation. On a donc passé la nuit avec des bouchons d'oreilles. La salle du petit déjeuner est très petite, il faut attendre son tour.

Excellents petits déjeuners! Chambre avec défectuosité de l'air climatisée! On nous a donné une chambre différente à la deuxième nuit...

Difficulté à entrer au stationnement!
